It seems Jay Rodriguez is being charged with racism by the FA . The reason I bring this up is that his "incident" was after the "Holgate" affair , by at least a week , maybe two, so what is being done about Bobby Firmino.? Indeed , what is being done about Holgate ? In terms of Violent play, Physical abuse of Referee, and homophobic tweets, as well as possible false accusations? It would appear that the FA are having great difficulty getting proof of racism against Bobby otherwise he would surely have been banned by now. |

The FA are just grossly incompetent. Theres not much that needs doing. Ask all involved (and those immediately in the vicinity of the incident) their version of events. Compare said versions. Review available TV footage. On the balance of probabilities, did Bobby say anything racist: Yes - charge him No - Confirm that no further action is needed. Job done. A couple of days work at the best. |

Holgate should have been banned long before the outcome of the investigation. Dangerous play is dangerous play. |

The main problem as I see it seems to be - if there is no proof that anything racist has been said then Holgate has played the race card himself , which would seriously harm "kick it out" because everyone would then have to be aware of the opposite side of the race coin and it becomes ever more difficult for players on the wrong end of racist comments to do much about it. Lets face it if there is no proof in this instance then the racism has come from Holgate. |

I think that the FA has chosen to abdicate responsibility. I agree that they probably lack the evidence to charge Firmino, but they have chosen not to pursue it rather than clear the air. I think they are afraid of a backlash, about being portrayed as soft on racism. It's not fair on Firmino, with the allegations still hanging over his head. The only positive side to this for Firmino and the club is that, the longer it goes on, the less likely it looks that there will be charges. |

Apparently the racist offence by Jayrod was that he made a gesture where he held his nose . The old way of saying you have caused a stink. Or maybe he was suggesting the player was "sh*t". If that was the offence it is pretty thin to class it as racist. No doubt more will emerge , or if the die has been cast by Holgate , less will be proven and the problem will be a reverse racism problem. |

Different case every week now. Websites may as well just have a 'racism' drop down menu on their home page to keep track of it all.

From Birmingham Mail.... https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jay-rodriguez-charge-gaetan-bong-14152258 Looks like Jayrod is taking legal advice in the matter and 100% denying any wrongdoing. From the other side of the fence Bong insists that he racially abused him . Going to be very difficult either way with no witnesses. Its not as if they have camera angles and a referee between them, lip readers etc when it happened , unlike the Holgate affair . So why has not Bobby been charged ?? |
