Kenny has a few squad issues to figure out what is our best starting team.
I know this idea has had plenty of miles before but imo i,d like to give Johnson a run of a few games in the more advanced position on the right ,with us bringing in Kelly at right back.
Downing must earn his spot and not let his price tag dictate when he plays and the same with Henderson and Carroll.
Our centreback pairing is the strongest without Carragher as he is on the decline but its far to early to call time on him just yet.
As for our strongest line up..
REINA...No1 keeper no question.
KELLY....SKRTEL...AGGER...ENRIQUE..
JOHNSON...LUCAS...ADAM...MAXI..{STEVIE FOR ADAM WHEN FIT}
SUAREZ..BELLAMY..

Downing and Carroll have alot to prove but they are very good options to have available.
Henderson has youth on his side and will become a very good player for LFC.
Kuyt,Spearing,Carragher and with Jonjo to return we have the makings of a very good squad.
With the return of Stevie G,we will have a major boost in the run after x-mas and i can see us finishing in the top 3.Next season is when we mount our title charge.
Just think back 16 months untill now and our change has been truly remarkable and one Kenneth Dalglish has had alot to do with that.
WE ARE ON THE UP REDS.....

Very astute - well said. Pace was required to exploit Chelsea's high defensive line. Horses for courses. Both do deserve more game time though.

more or less as ive been calling it there bay!!
my point has always been that lfc are a better team without the 4 signings.certainly only playing one of them at once in a starting line up is just about ok as yesterday in adam.it is when they are put in all together...it instantly creates a team that is just not good enough.if adam can continue as he did yesterday then he will be a decent squad player.
henderson has a long long way to go before he could or should even be contemplated for regular starts.
carrol..wellll!!
downing..just a big big no for me.
bellamy and maxi are very deserving of their place.ive been calling for them to start from the off.reverting to the basics of the team and ethos of last year will serve kenny well.
imo he should sell at least 2 from downing carrol henderson...they are the 3 players that stand out as dead wood now.if he can sell them and raise 20 to 35m
then it would be prudent to also buy two quality midfielders ..sissoko and tioto from newcastle would imo add some steel and class.

What a stupid post. Even if for a moment we accept your assertion that the 4 signings aren't good enough, to sell them after a dozen or so games, labelling them as not good enough is a laughable course of action.

far better to cut losses now as they are collectivly damaging to the team and progress.mistakes made..rectifying it is key.too many of them in the team is very damaging.3 of them are dead wood....already!

Of course it's stupid. A manager will stand by his signings. He paid good money for them because he believed in them. He will not stop believing in them after a dozen games for us.

Your calling from Kenny to get rid of them already is a massive vote of no confidence in Kenny. You claim not to be slating him, but by your slating of his signings to an incredible degree, you are basically saying Kenny doesn't know what he's doing.

It's garbage. We have a very good squad, and the players who came in yesterday proved that, and should keep their places. Downing and Henderson combined to create a chance for Kuyt when they came on with Henderson especially impressive in that particular move - why no credit for that?

"3 of them are dead wood....already"

I know where the dead wood is, and it's not those players. ;)

years ago he paid alot of money..it was then..for jimmy carter. for some reason kenny just didnt take to him.carter came with a glowing reputation from millwall who were in the first division at the time.hehardly played.his last game he brought him on as sub then took him off.the ultimate humiliation they called it in the press.swiftly he was sold.
hopefuly kenny will again do the same...looks like hes begining to give out a few ultimatums in his own way.he needs to before they drag him and the team down.
yesterday may well be a turning point.i hope so.

That wasn't a lot of money dub - it was £450,000, 14 years after LFC signed Kenny for £440,000.

He also played 5 games in the six weeks he was at the club before Kenny resigned - not the actions of someone who "didn't take to him".

Kenny didn't sub him after bringing him on as a sub - that was Souness.

Kenny didn't sell Carter - that was Souness.

You're wrong again dub - you must be getting used to that by now.

So you're saying that you would have faith in a manager who paid £42 million on three players and sells them after they've played a dozen games? And sells a £35 million player after 4 goals in 12 starts?

This seems like good management to you? It's what you would do?

No offence, but as I've said to dub - that's ridiculous.

Agree with most of this but i don't agree about Gerrard. He should not be an automatic starter IMO and certainly not in CM and even more certainly not ahead of our current playmaker.

16 starts.

You misunderstand anyway fred. If it were one signing whom the manager realised he'd made a mistake with, and felt he could get a large chunk of the money back if he sold him on quickly then I would understand. I wouldn't necessarily agree, but I would understand.

Redmachine is advocating getting rid of three or four players after at most a dozen league starts.

Going back to Robbie Keane, it's clear from his career after being offloaded that we made the right decision to get shot of him. He was also 28 and the longer we kept him the more we would have lost on the deal.

i agree with hughiealonso..gerrard should not be automatic choice, especialy in center midfield.the team seems to 'grow' better without gerrard and carragher being automatic starters.

I think even when Gerrard has played this season, the team have been more of a team than before when Gerrard has sought to do (and has done) it all himself. His light is fading slightly, but that still leaves a tremendous player for the team to benefit from.

You,re right Soctty and hopefully Stevie can put his injury worries behind him and he can recapture some of that amazing play we all know he is capable of.

I,d still really like to see Glen Johnson have a decent run in the more advanced role on the right.Has the makings of a good winger i think, but will Kenny give him a run there?not so sure but you never know.

keane signing/selling was bogus. no justification for selling a player 6 months into a contract with no replacement or fit striker available during a title challenge.

The use of the word bogus is, erm, bogus.

Justification was that he was 28, had flopped, didn't get along with the manager, didn't fit into the team, and there was a chance to offload him and make just a £3 million loss on it.

We've been over this so many times, but I'll repeat myself again. We scored more goals in less games without Keane than we did with him. We got more points in less games without Keane than we did with him.

It wasn't ideal, it wasn't the most satisfactory of episodes for all concerned, but it happened and I'm glad we got rid and made the loss as little as possible. His career from that point onwards suggests we were right to get rid, or we'd have made a huge loss - possibly almost all of the fee - further down the road.
