Lille president Michel Seydoux will consider making Joe Cole an "interesting offer" to remain at the French club beyond the end of the season. Cole joined Lille on a year-long loan deal over the summer and has made an impressive start to life with the reigning Ligue 1 champions. He produced another fine performance in Tuesday's 2-0 victory away to CSKA Moscow to keep Lille's hopes of qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League alive. The midfielder has made it clear that he would be keen to discuss a permanent deal as he enjoys the style of football they play and is happy in the dressing room. While he is still scheduled to return to Anfield at the end of the current campaign, Lille have now indicated for the first time they would like to keep hold of the 30-year-old. "It is not a certainty that he will leave us again at the end his contract," said Seydoux. "If he has a certain good feeling with Lille and we can make him an interesting offer, then this is something that we will look into." 5 million Mr Seydoux.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish says he is yet to hear from Lille about any potential deal to make Joe Cole's loan spell permanent. On Wednesday the French side's president Michel Seydoux said they could make the 30-year-old an "interesting offer" to keep him full-time. But Dalglish knows of no negotiations between the clubs as yet aimed at making that happen. "He has never spoken to me. I don't know anything about it," said the Scot. "I know they won 2-0 (against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League) and the lad hit the post and is playing well - but he's been playing well most of the time. "It is great for Joe he is doing so well but beyond that I don't know of anything that has happened." Cole has made an impression at Lille and Seydoux on Wednesday said: "It is not a certainty that he will leave us at the end of his contract. "If he has a certain good feeling with Lille and we can make him an interesting offer this is something that we will look into." |

I can't see us getting any money for him, but if we can get him off the payroll, that will be a feat in itself. |

He was unfit and overweight last season, and drained the coffers to the tune of 90k per week. We're still paying him the majority of it now. I want him off the payroll. He's past his best and there simply is no room for him here. |

We never got the best from him which was a shame, I rated the lad and thought he's do a good job for us. Pleased he's back playing well so time will tell if he comes back but have a feeling he won't |

I too thought he would be a great addition for us, but it seemed Chelsea knew something we didn't; that Cole's fitness/stamina levels had dropped significantly. Was plain to see in the games he did play for us shortly after his arrival. The hands on the hips and bent over gasping for breath sent the alarm balls ringing for me. Maybe that's why he's doing so well over in France. The pace of the Game there may be more suitable to his style now, where he can have time on the ball to perform his trickery, and more importantly; to catch his breath once in a while. If he does stay there i wish him the best, and its sad that his Liverpool career never took off the way many of us thought it would. What a difference it could have made had we signed him from West Ham, and not Chelsea. |
