Pepe Reina can always be relied upon to spill his guts in the media, and earlier today, he gave his opinion on who he feels are the best and worst performers during Liverpool's training sessions. Reina's choices may surprise some fans: "The best trainer for me is Jay Spearing. He tries always his best, and gives 100% in ever single training session". That's a nice vote of confidence for Spearing, and if he continues to train well then maybe he'll get more chances in the first team. What about the worst trainer at Liverpool? Reina's choice may or may not be surprising, but it's definitely a little depressing: "If I have to pick one, it would be Andy Carroll probably, because he doesn't move too many yards to be honest. It has to be him". I'm not sure it's wise to answer a question like that in public, but having said that, there seems to be a direct correlation here between Carroll's performance in training and his performance on the pitch. Reina also revealed Jamie Carragher's distaste for one of his rather disturbing pre-match rituals: "I think Carra doesn't like me to fist him before the game. He always gives me a high five now instead of the fist". Who can blame him? A high-five is surely always preferable to being fisted, especially before a game ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- thats a surprize eh carroll doesnt move much in training ,he doesnt move much in a match either  as for reina wanting to fist carra those spannish lads for yer

Interview with Soccer AM. Tongue firmly in cheek. Of course there are those with an adgenda who will use anything to make their inane ramblings seem like reality. Move on |

undoubtably tongue in cheek but there is truth in it all the same.no wonder carrol isnt in the team.considering what he cost you would expect him to be a fantastic trainer,,,he probably smokes during training too.Right,in light of reinas comments im going to say he is being far to complacent by the sounds of it.....so come on andy, show us reina knows nothing..today!! |

I for one am just hoping that young Andy does,nt turn out to be his own worst enemy but we,ve got five years for Kenny to correct any of those bad habits that may need correcting. |

many a true word spoken in jest. maybe a thinly veiled attack on carroll. agger too has made similar comments about players. im increasingly getting frustrated with carroll. he too needs to step up. its not his fault his price tag was high, but the onus is up to him to put the effort in to live up to dalglish's expectations. |

And you think that Pepe, as a fine team player at this club, would criticise the players in his team to the media? Anything other than a jocular comment would be completely out of character, and subject to a reprimand by his manager and fellow professionals. Unlike you, Pepe, understands a team relationship. And that is why Pepe does not believe this stuff and you do. Your anti-Carroll agenda is now beyond embarrassment; it's bordering on deliberate subversion. Give it up. |

Reina didn't have to say anything to set you off on yet another rant about Carroll, that's for sure. A supporter, you are not. A malicious and vindictive thug, probably. |

Whatever happens today, I hope it becomes expressed as joy or concern, and not the vindictive hate from some self-styled supporters. That is the real worry around here, and it doesn't really say much about Carroll; more about some of his critics. |
