Should be a very interesting game and cannot wait to see what side we put out. I am sure that Kenny is playing mind games and that the team will be a mixture of first team and reserve players. Not sure whether Bellamy is in any condition to play, Gerrard is definitely out, Suarez and Agger should be rested. My team - Doni Kelly Carra Coates/Skrtel Aurelio Kuyt/Bellamy Spearing Henderson Coady Maxi Carroll I am sure that Chelsea will have a reasonably strong team with the likes of Torres, Raul etc so it will be an evenly contested game. |

10 game unbeaten run with your starting the match threads on here Steve, so you can keep the honour until we lose a game for me Would like to see Coates get a run out, but I am sure Kenny will start Carra and as both Coates and Carra are not blessed with pace, I cant see them both starting the game. How does Kelly starting in central defence with Carra sound? I bet Nando starts for them and with us turning them over last week I think this could be a tastey game. |

Lets hope my luck continues. Kelly in central defence with Carra is a good shout. Flannaghan can play RB or I am sure Johnson can manage to play again. |

The League must come first, therefore it'll be a second 11 I think. On the other hand Chelsea are in the same boat, and fighting for Champions League survival. They may also rest their top players. |

Think you are harsh on downing Baz. I'm no fan of Downing, never have been, but I thought he got about against City. Never really made fuck ups like Enrique or Adam did. Though Enrique and Adam were both impressive in their own right, their delinquent back passes could have cost dearly. Furhermore, Downing was actually in position to miss his goal efforts, which is better than not even being there for the chance for me. That has happned quite a bit lately with front runners being offered little support. Still, Downing has to connect soon. He's not going to miss forever. Seem to recall Maxi being the proverbial goat after his Chelsea Sitter last year. Now we're talking like he's, .... well, Lucas!!! What goes around. Personally think Maxi lacks the pace for the City match up. |

MATCH PREVIEW. Chelsea and Liverpool lock horns again a mere 10 days since the Reds landed a knockout blow on the Blues in the league at Stamford Bridge. Despite Saturday's win over Wolves, Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas remains firmly on the ropes and another defeat to Liverpool will have Roman Abramovich's notoriously itchy trigger finger edging closer towards the panic button. This is the 30th time the sides have met since 2004. One of those early encounters saw a young Portuguese manager get his first taste of silverware for the Blues as a certain Jose Mourinho masterminded a victory over Liverpool in the 2005 League Cup final. What Villas-Boas would give to repeat the exploits of his mentor come February. First, though, Liverpool must be despatched. Considering Kenny Dalglish has not lost in 12 previous matches against Chelsea as Liverpool manager, and that the Reds have lost on just one of their last six visits to Stamford Bridge, it is not going to be easy. |

Its a quarter final and we have talk about a second string going to the bridge, we need to take a strong squad down there and put the chavs to the sword and keep the pressure on ABV, ----------------------Pepe------------------------- Johnson------Coates---Carra----------- Aurellio -----------------Lucas Spearing----------------- Kuyt------------Suarez/Maxi-------Downing/Maxi -----------------Carroll/Suarez------------------- |

Totally agree with Scof and Soctty but, I would go one further, and play a full strength side. So what if they have to play 2 games in the space of two days, they can handle it as a one off. The 1977 team played the FA Cup final 3 days before the Euro final if I am not mistaken. Rise above it!! Dont forget John Terry is suspended which is a big plus for us I feel as he is their only decent defender around. Without him, I don't think they will be able to cope with Carroll. I don't see Chelsea living with us without Terry if Suarez and Carroll start. Also, Meireles is cup-tied. Sorry to sound all doom and gloom but the fact is that we've no trophies since 06 and haven't reached a semi final since 07 so I think we need to be treating this as a big, big match. Reina Johnson Carragher Agger Aurelio Maxi Lucas Adam / Henderson Downing Carroll Suarez |

We reached a final in 2007 we reached the Champions League semi final in 2008 we reached the Europa league semi final in 2010 plus we had that great second leg to look back on in the Champions league quarter finals at the bridge in 2009 We certainly haven't been starved of competing at the highest level over the past decade... |

I do things differently. It's called not criticising the manager with the benefit of hindsight. My opinion is out there before the match, and I will stand by my opinion after the match, or else I will admit I was wrong. You should try it sometime. |

whether we win or lose i will stick by my opinion that lucas shouldnt be in the side against lower opposition even though he was outstanding against chelsea and ihope he is in the side tonight and plays well again but against lesser opposition i believe we need a more creative player who can break down teams who park the bus against us . |

So even if we win 5-0 and Lucas scores and assists, you wouldn't admit you got it wrong? |

Carroll missed a penalty. Both Chelsea centerbacks are on yellows already. |
