Lets start the match thread early. Gerrard and Lucas are injured- not sure where Aurelio is. Expect a few changes to our team from Tuesdays game- Reina Johnson Agger Skrtel Enrique Kuyt Henderson Spearing Adam Downing Suarez Will be surprised if Maxi, Bellamy or Carroll start. I would start with Maxi and Bellamy rather than Kuyt and Downing but Kenny is the boss. |

Fulham played tonight- Johnson was sent off, Duff and Debemele both went of injured. We have had 2 additional days to recover so should be fresher. If i recollect Maxi got a hattrick last season at Craven Cottage and he seems to like scoring goals in london so I would start with him. |

Reina Johnson Agger Skrtel Enrique Maxi Henderson Adam Downing Suarez Bellamy Maxi has to start as he is in fine form. The sooner Adam and Henderson build up a mutual understanding together the better in my opinion, though I think Henderson will relish playing in his natural and favoured position. He is a lot better than people on here (in particular) give him credit for. We need to keep the unbeaten run going. I think we need to be as positive and aggressive from the beginning. |

I'd go for that team as well Ivan but have Henderson instead of Spearing, I want to see him in the middle and think Fulham would be good opponents for him to be tried against |

I think Hendo is more of a playmaker type while Spearing is a live dynamo good for breaking down the opposition play. Only his size might be a problem. I still cant beleive we bought Henderson in a first place, not to mention the price

Yes I have the same problem with him, but thought he looked a lot better the other night. Kenny keeps playing him out of position which doen't help so think there's an opportunity he to see him in the position he say's he's best in |

A sign of the times when not one poster has Carragher in their starting line-up even after a monumental performance at Stamford Bridge. |

Its great that he did perform so well. No rustiness at all, and shows that we can still depend on him whether he is a regular or not nowadays. |

Its nice to have selection worries of the right sort for a change, isn't it? Skrtel's improvement has kind of gone on unnoticed. Ive often felt with centerbacks that to get the most out of them you need to have them play alongside a player who compliments them well and this si what is happening at the heart of our defence. Two clean sheets against Chelsea is great. So too is limiting man citeh to just the one goal. |

Good performance by Carra and Coates at Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea were understrength, as were we. Skrtel and Agger are the men in possession, and as long as they are doing their job, their places in the team should be a given. It can't be underestimated how important having a solid partnership at the back means. |

Think it's very important than Skrtel's and Agger are paired together, Skrtel's looks much better with Agger than he did playing with Carra maybe he felt a little intimidated with him alongside him |

Partly that, and partly that Agger is a better player, is quicker and more mobile. Also Skrtel plays on the right side of the partnership with Agger, rather than the left with Carra - much more comfortable on the right. |

We need to win this game by 2 clear goals to overtake both Newcastle and Arsenal in the table. Every game is going to important now and we cannot afford to drop any points. We win this game and also against QPR at home and we will overtake Chelsea who are playing Man City at home next weekend and will lose that game. |

Totally agree on Skrtel. He deffo seems to be thriving in Carra's absence. I think it would be a step backward to re-introduce Carra to the back 4 that is playing very well. |

I would like to see the following line up Reina Johnson Skrtle Agger Enrique Maxi Spearing Adam Downing Bellamy Suarez I think there is plenty of pace and endevour in that side, coupled with Guile and craft. |

I'd have no problems with that lineup. Spearing would add a bit of dig in midfield alongside Adam, with a lot of creativity in there. I don't think we'll see Maxi, Downing and Bellamy in the same team though, and think Downing could be on the bench, with Henderson on the right and Maxi switched to the right. |
