I am so glad they are out. I'd rather watch a 'Take The High Road' Christmas Special than be put through that again. I never realised how much I missed Pavel Nedved - wonderful footballer and up there with my all time faves from recent decades - I bet even he fell asleep watching that. Portugal without Ronaldo would be like a Eunuch........[insert own rude continuation here] |

Jurgen Klopp: 'It's only this game because of the fans, that's what I know, think and feel. We have to entertain them, we have to make their life better. Football is not so important, we don't save lives. We're not doctors. It's our job that they can forget their problems for 90 minutes and then they can talk about the game.' | |

They hardly attacked the Portugal goal save that good run from the little winger Pilarz (SP). I just look to see the most entertaining team progress. So who from England and Italy should progress if that's the case?

Went for containment and deserved to get beaten. Awful approach. At least have a go, if you come up short well at least you went out and played in the right manner. Portugal didn't have to play well. There was no resistance. |

I take it you were cheering on Italy, Croatia and Spain? And not to mention the teams we beat to qualify to get here? Who do you support in these tournaments anyways since your lot are never there? P.S Will you ever overcome the Mighty Faroe Islands?? |

Its a strange situation this to me. I don't mind seeing Ireland across either border doing well as long as its not at the expense of England , even though I am English and I know an awful lot who are the same , and yet it does not seem to cut the other way , cest la vie I suppose. If Ireland were facing Italy I know I would be singing the fields of Athenry and not Arrivaderci Roma. |

And yet, we all proclaim support for an English football club, let alone have our own captain leading England onto the field. You get the feeling many "reds fans" would rather see him and England lose. Hard for me to swallow. Not sure I fancy any Liverpool fans hating England. Except when one of our players is needlessly injured in a friendly. |
