Juan Manuel Vargas “could leave Fiorentina” and has received interest from Liverpool and Malaga, confirmed his agent. The Peruvian winger is expected to move on in the summer and has been heavily linked with the Anfield side in particular. “He could leave Fiorentina, that is a possibility, but at the moment it is just rumours and there’s nothing official,” Jorge Cyterszpiler told TMW. “He did not have a great season and is therefore eager to make up for it next year. “Liverpool are an option, but there is also Malaga who can give him the prestige of playing in the Champions League. “Does he have a preference between the Premier League and Liga? Vargas would appreciate either League, though Serie A also has its merits. In the past we talked it over with Inter and the Nerazzurri were interested.” ------------------------------------------------ so spurs get one of our targets now malaga could out do us for vargas who next ?? everton :ph43r: |

Malaga are a very, very rich club after their takeover in 2011. As usual, it may simply come down to money. Apologies if that doesn't fit into your "the sky is falling down" agenda. |

Guess you missed the fact that they were the biggest spending spanish team last summer. They were taken over by the petro dollars and now have money to burn (see what I did there). If a player wants to make more money, then they will pick Malaga. Nothing we can do about that, nor should we. |

Not as clear as that. The new owners intend to make them a force..they have a neat new ground but get small crowds although alot across andalucia support them but it is usualy as well as barca ,madrid or seville. They can spend big if they want to but realy are not at the stage to compete among the elite yet. The concern...real concern..is fsg are not going to spend unless its from sales and their wage stratagy already points to missing out on targets. fsg are a calamaty in the making and if brendan fails this season then lfc will have lost all of its ethos and structure completly. This is not being down beat..think about it..it is realistic.Another season in the backwaters with no real investment will condemn lfc for a long time. |

Lets wait and see what they do in the window before throwing knickers out the window

We can wait for it but I dont want to say we can wait 20 years. If we sit here in four years I think well have won one title Im pretty sure. No pressure Jurgen! | |

Lets also not forget that the majority of that was funded through player sales and reduction in the bloated wage bill. |

Christ almighty. It DOES change the fact that we aren't likely to repeat that level of spending this year (unless you think we are going to sell someone for £50 million again?), and it DOESN'T change the fact that Malaga are still a cash-rich club. We are working on a budget, and this has always been the intention. We as a club will be living within our means. Get used to it. |
