Super Reds
I've noticed the constant bickering on the boards recently, even worse than it usually is, with fans getting increasingly wound up about the lack of transfers, and the rumours of our apparent lack of financial muscle. I'd just like to try to send out a message to whoever will listen saying why we will be okay, and to sit back, take rumours with a pinch of salt, and support our manager, players and owners.

As Liverpool fans, we've been through allot recently. People talk about how these are bad times for the club, but in reality, the events of the last season fail to get close to some of the things we have had to handle throughout our long history. The fact of the matter is, before our current owners came in, we were days from liquidation. Let me repeat that, days from liquidation, and the club folding was a very real threat. Imagine if our situation was like the one Rangers were in now? We were on a steep slide before the owners came in, and thankfully wiped our debt. We've also experienced other hard times, obviously Hillsborough, and even now still fighting for justice, and for the truth to come out, this is a constant fight, and we shall come out of this victorious. I was not around for this, and it is hard to imagine nowadays, but in 1954 we were relegated. I dread to think what would happen if this were to take place nowadays, but what did the Kopites of that year do? They carried on. They supported the club, and in 5 years, were rewarded greatly, with Shankly taking over, and the Liverpool we love and know today starting to reform. We have faced many struggles over the years at this club, and will face many more; this is hardly a crisis, so how about we stop acting like it is one?

A new season see's a new manager take hold of the reigns, and aim to build a dynasty that will be looked back on for years to come, and for people to be proud that they were alive, and supporting the club at that time. Whatever some of you thought about Kenny’s dismissal, I beg you to keep an open mind, and back our new boss. He is young, has massive potential, has fresh ideas and a fresh philosophy, and as I touched on above, he can build an era. Kenny will always be king, he has gone above and beyond the call of duty for this club and we will be eternally grateful for what he has done. He still is the last man to have won the League title for us; he has earned the title of King, and will go down in history as one of our greatest ever players, managers, and representatives. However, now is the time for Brendan to show us what he is capable of, and I for one am watching on, excitedly, waiting to see what will be offered.

Throughout our history we have been graced with the very best of players, such as; Keegan, Barnes, Rush, Souness, Hansen and Dalglish, and now is the time for our current crop of players to step up and show they have what it takes to emulate them. I want to see the players go out this season knowing that they have something to prove, and want to show us why they deserve to play for this great football club. We have a brilliant team; Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Gerrard and Suarez, these players are all very special, and could walk into most of the sides on the planet, we are lucky to have them, and I am sure that we will be rewarded. Our signings of last summer and January have been hit with allot of criticism over the last season, with Downing, Henderson and Carroll branded a waste of money. Now is the time to get behind these players, we need to let them know they have the support, and that we will defend them when nobody else will. If we give 100% to them, we will get 100% back, and will be rewarded with some great European nights, cup final days, and big Premier League weekends.

Shanks, Paisley, Dalglish, Fagan, Rush, Barnes, Souness and Carra. All undoubted legends of this club, and rightfully so. However, our current number 8, and captain, not to mention the countries skipper, and local boy is right up beside them, shoulder to shoulder, if not slightly above. This lad is truly special, I have always been one of his biggest supporters, and I feel as though many of us will not realise just how much influence he had, until he has hung up his boots. There were times when the lad could have turned his back on us, walked away to a higher pay check, and possibly more trophies, but he never did. Stevie has done what allot of players dream to do, and has stayed as a 1 club man, playing for his hometown club right from youth levels, to leading them out in multiple Champions League finals. The boy has so much quality, shown most recently in the Euros, with some standout performances, earning him the title of England’s top performer. He has been doing this for years, dragging us kicking and screaming to places where we had no right to be. I hope that Steven Gerrard will be remembered as the greatest ever Liverpool player, and that we can reward him by winning a league title before the time comes to hang up his boots. It’s the least he deserves.

Liverpool is a special club. It touches people’s hearts in a way that no other club does. Xabi Alonso is a true fan, who regularly talks about us, and admits he looks out for our results, and even said he would love to end his career as a Liverpool player. Another former player, Mascherano, minutes after winning the CL at Wembley, thinks of us, in his first interview "this was for you." We are unique, and treat former players and managers like few others, when Ged returned with Aston Villa on his first visit after leaving us, he received such a warm welcome. Even in the build up he was quoted saying "If I was going to lose 3-0 to anyone, I'd want it to be Liverpool." Rafa, a controversial subject on the boards, certainly loves us as well, stating how he would wait years for the opportunity to manage Liverpool again, he still lives in the Liverpool area, and is just like one of us now, a fan. The twitter interviews the website does always show how we have affected former players as well, with many seeming to still have genuine feelings for the club. Like I said at the start of this paragraph, Liverpool is a special club.

Now, all I ask of you is fan togetherness, if we stand high and tall, the arrows will simply bounce off us. We shall support the team, make Anfield truly feared again, and once more into a fortress. We need to turn Anfield into a place where opposition fans see "LIVERPOOL (A)" on their fixture list and immediately think, "I don't see us getting anything from this game." This will reflect in the teams performance, and give us the time and space needed to exploit holes in the oppositions lines. The road to the top is a tough one, undoubtedly, things may seem tough, things may get thrown in the way of us, and not everything will go right all the time, but the reply to all this is simple. We laugh off all critisism that comes our way, whether that has come from the Media, FA, other players or managers, as at the end of the day the only people who matter are ourselves. When Fernando Torres left the club, many of us wondered what lay ahead, but the facts are, we straight away reinvested the money into potentially brilliant players. We grew from the whole episode, and now have Carroll and Luis as our strike force. This is what we need to continue to do. I lay out a challenge to all the match goers; Do not come home until your voice is on the verge of dissapearing, scream at the top of your voices every single game, drown out the opponents fans, whether we are home or away, and if you hear a groan from one side of you after a misplaced pass, explain why it will not help. We need our players confidence to flow, not to fall. Now, a challenge to all around the world, I want us to rally around the players, block them from all critisism, shield them from haters. A great thing about being such a global club is the fact that wherever you go, there will always be a Liverpool fan nearby, ready to help fight your corner.

In football, the margin for error is so small, a game can be decided by a yard of pace, a gust of wind, 1 decision could make all the difference. We must make sure we fight, and make the difference, the time is here and now. Game by game we build momentum, game by game we beat opponents, game by game we embarrass them. We may lose a couple, but we will know that, although they can beat us on the day, 99 times out of 100 we would be the ones taking the 3 points, they can never match the pride that we have in the Liverbird, and the sense of pure perfection we get when Big Andy hits one in the net from 40 yards out. We shall claw our way back up to our perch, Football is a game of survival. Survival of the fittest. We are ready. Ready to tear ourselves and everyone nearby into pieces, for that 1 goal, that 1 moment that changed history, the 1 moment that makes us get up, out of our seats, scream and shout, kiss the badge and know that we are part of something truly unique and special. Each game is a scrap, a true fight, but in these situations, its the side that is willing to go the extra mile that wins, the one that has something to fight for. Set the target, lay down the gauntlet, and cheer the team on. We can't make them win, that is up to the 11 men that Rodgers fields, however, we can make them want it. With the combined force of a global fanbase, we can make these guys do anything, and go anywhere. The sky is the limit. If we build momentum early on, then anything could happen. I want to see a side of 11 men walk out onto that pitch that are ready to bleed for the cause, and for them to be able to look left and right, and know that the players either side will do exactly the same. A band of brothers, all striving for 1 goal.

We soar or sink. Are you ready?
Beside the hillsborough flame
I heard a kopite mourning
Why so many taken on that day
Justice has never been done
But there memory will carry on
There`ll be glory round the fields of anfield road.

Justice for the 96 RIP YNWA!!!

CLAPTRAP and visions of grandeur tbh!!
Brendan will get the support no doubt about that but if he is glaringly happless the kop will want him gone. All very well saying shout top of your voice but as seen with hodgson ,if theres nothing to shout about the kop is quiet and attendances fall.Harping back to 1954 is ridiculous.Building a dynasty....well this is what fsg will have you believe..and if it goes according to their plan it will be a dynasty....the big problem is though that their plans are rather lame in reality and other clubs wont just stand back whilst lfc implement this process of fsg.....no, many of them will have their own better plans based on buying quality players....thats were fsg and their masterplan comes unstook.Fsg are in over their head and are in for a big shock.....so are fans that have faith in them too.

Thats written by a fan who knows the meaning of support Speke, I think it will be a complete waste posting it on here.

But thanks for posting it as its nice to see that there are still some born and bred LFC supporters around.

I think ol' Redmachine needs to get laid.

The negative shit hasn't ended with the removal of Kenny RM (which is what you wanted).

So what now? Continue along the same path?

I said some weeks ago that it would be nice to start afresh here as well as the new start at the Club.

If that means reviewing your place here with us with the other Staff members then so be it.

If what they see is not good they wont be.Brendan has the support but he realy has to earn his stripes.

As for the whingers, well they will always whinge if someone doesnt agree with them and offers a realistic opinion as a oposed to a sweetness and niceness view.....they bury their heads in the sand only to wake up at the last moment when its too late.
Why you succumb to the usual moaners misty I do not know.Carry on dreaming about the aspirations of fsg if you must but your in for disapointment.

I have reread that article again and it surprises me a little.

The guy who has written it would appear to be under 30 , if what he is written is interpreted the way I see it. I would have put him older by virtue of his knowledge and articulated presentation.

He has also no doubt missed the periods of time where we would be winning everything going on a regular basis, but acknowledges that other fans much older than himself have experienced difficult times from a football point of view .

Instead of being envious or bitter that his elders have seen the greats of LFC not only dominate English football but also European football , and that he is within an era of far less achievements , he has the bearing of the old school fanbase that has always been around.

He is LFC through and through and like most of that ilk will support LFC regardless of their status as its a way of life .

Some may not understand this but to those who can relate to it , you know exactly what I mean.

Well done that man.

Well said. There are many on here who claim to speak for those standing on the Kop, yet these same individuals seem to have a fundamental lack of understanding of the term "support". It seems that loyalty is only now given if the team is playing well, they get the manager they want and if the players signed are the players who have been pre-picked by the "Championship Manager" players.

Its also sad that this thread has been hijacked for the usual "we're doomed" soapbox that a few of the vocal minority like to stand on.

The original post sums up what we need to do as a fan base to help the club move forward. Sadly, I think it may now be a pipe-dream.

Been good on here and the liberalism of the forum is what made it imo.Stifiling realistic opinion loses the objective imo....we can all just happyclap in tandem but its all about opinion and if you cannot express an honest..often acurate..opinion then its time to call it a day.Im of a differnt ilk to you cactus..i will never be content for lfc until i see it returned to the top again and if that means kicking ass in the process then so be it as thats what lfc and the city of liverpool are all about...its not about accepting midtable mediocrity and bullhsit from cunning owners, that you can be sure of.

You'll be back on here within a few days. Neither of those forums have anyone posting on them, so you'll get bored fishing in a river with no fish in it.

As for "stifling" opinion, you wouldn't have been able to post your shite on any other forum than this one, so to try slagging the admin lads off now is a bit daft really.

Who has said you can't do that? Its the incessantly negative shite that Misty wants you to cut out (and in fairness to him, he's been asking you to do this for months), and refraining from turning every thread into your own personal soapbox. We all know your feelings, we all know how you think things will play out. We don't need to be reminded of this with EVERY F.UCKING POST.

Methinks someone enjoys playing the martyr.

The real fans are those standing on the kop dicky...see how they react to fsg....see how they support brendan totaly....see how they fall silent if things go wrong....see how they will want fsg to invest.
keep dreaming dicky.

Real fans? Sat/stood in the kop hundreds of times also had a season ticket that I shared with my brother and still went the game coz we had Norwegian mates Ken and Mags that use to keep a ticket spare for which ever one of us didn't have the season ticket! That real enough for you?

So real fans berate the ###### club while the deluded support through thick and thin!

Do piss off ya bone idol T W A T! You'd be happy to see us in the position Rangers are in!

FSG have done ###### all to be critical about atm so wind ya neck in!

For the last time:

THEY SAID THEY WANT LFC TO BE SELF SUFFICIENT

THEY DIDN'T PROMISE A STADIUM

They have however

REDUCED OUR DEBT DOWN TO SERVICING DEBT

REINVESTED OVER £100m IN PLAYER PURCHASES (I SAID RE-INVESTED)

BROUGHT IN SEVERAL SPONSORSHIP DEALS

OH AND THEY NOW DO THINGS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

See you back on here in a few days!
Beside the hillsborough flame
I heard a kopite mourning
Why so many taken on that day
Justice has never been done
But there memory will carry on
There`ll be glory round the fields of anfield road.

Justice for the 96 RIP YNWA!!!

Yea right and you don't swear! Go crawl back into ya bubble!

My mentality is I hate people ripping apart the things that mean most to me in life! LFC being one of them! You know ###### all about me apart from a few minor personal details I've disclosed! No one on here knows me and guess what I don't care! All I'm arsed about is the people and things I care about most in life! LFC being one of them and to see you dragging our (THE FANS) club through the sewer day in day out makes me sick to see we have people like you that claim to follow OUR club!

Ya a pathetic little weasel with nothing else better to do with his pathetic little life! So do us a favor and get one! Yes RM get yourself a life!
