I just bought the game on Xbox 360. It's the first time I've had a console version in a few years (I normally just have it on PSP), so the first thing that strikes me is the graphics are great (though may not have improved from previous console versions.) I find the control system on the Xbox a bit strange, but I'm just so used to the old playstation controls I guess. Will take some getting used to. It might just be me, but the visual HUD doesn't seem to be very simple. I'd just prefer the old style, but maybe that's not for everyone. Create-a-superstar is as in-depth as ever. I've not played the Road to Wrestlemania mode for the created Superstar yet, but it's a great concept. But anyway, what really grabs me about the game is the Storyline editor. With this game, it's clearly still a little in the development stage, but for an e-fed writer like me, this is the best feature in the game yet. Being able to create your own storylines and download other peoples' will greatly increase the longevity of the game. But for a lot of the cool stuff, I have to wait till I get Live back *sobs*. Has anyone else got the game? |

I have the game, and as I have said previously, I love the game. As you say Stunner, the Story Designer is a brilliant addition - it's a complex idea yet is executed so easily. I can post the review I have written for the uni paper if you'd like to read it? |

Here you are then. ![]() =================================== WWE Smackdown! VS Raw 2010 The first Smackdown! game back in the year 2000 was a breakthrough in Playstation gameplay. Fast, frantic action, great graphics (for the time) with easy to manage controls, was a Godsend to all those who could not contend with 1999s WWF Attitude and its horrible aged graphics and hard to handle control system. Who could have foreseen what a phenomenon the Smackdown! series would eventually become? Here we are, in the year 2009 with what is potentially the final game within the series and arguably the finest Smackdown game in the series since Smackdown! 5 Here Comes The Pain (which many regard as the series true highlight). Every year the developers of the series try to add something new to the already fantastic mix of gameplay and graphics, whether it be new match types, new characters, or even subtle refinements to the gameplay itself as was the case last year for WWE Smackdown! Vs Raw 2009 with its newly refined tag team match. In 2010, it is all around customisation. Sure weve had the ability to create our own leviathans since WWF Warzone in 1998, and even earlier games like the 2D Fire Pro Wrestling, but never has customisation ever been on this level or up to this standard. The games every year have a slogan 2010s slogan is Its your world now and it is hard to disagree. For starters there are 60+ wrestlers (male and female) on the roster, and you unlock others through the returning story mode from 2009, Road To WrestleMania in which you guide a specific wrestler to the Granddaddy of em all WrestleMania. This year includes Edge, Randy Orton, Brand Warfare (where you can control Triple H and John Cena simultaneously as one player, or go co-op with a friend and The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. There is a first ever diva Road To WrestleMania, where you control Mickie James, and even a specialised one for your created superstars. It doesnt take long to play through these, but you are encouraged to play through again to unlock everything that each scenario has to offer. If you want to take a break from this, you can indulge yourself in the various match types available, ranging from your basic 1on1, 2on2 tag team match, to the awesome handicap matches backstage. However as previously stated, creation is where this games strength lies. As usual you can create your own superstars, (50 this time rather than 32 previously) but also create alternate attires for them 4 attires each including the starting one. You can create moves like in 2009, but this year the ability to create top rope moves has appeared as well so if you ever wanted to a 450 degree moonsault (450 degree backflip for non wrestling fans), now is your chance. In the game also, there is a feature called Superstar Threads. In this feature, you take an already existing superstar lets say Shawn Michaels for example and edit what they are wearing colour-wise as you see fit. While this is less expansive than the Create-a-Superstar feature, since you cannot change actual clothes, only the colour of what they are already wearing, it is a good feature for those who like to keep costumes up to date or as up to date as possible. But perhaps the games real highlight is the story designer mode where you can design everything right down to the finest detail. This is not like the General Manager modes of the past where you tried to make the most exciting matches possible against the computer, this is a full story mode at your disposal to be edited how you see fit. You can edit cutscenes (you choose a scenario and edit the scenario by having who you want in it, and the location it takes place). You then type in what you want the characters to say, and for simplicities sake there is no actual voiceovers, but only text. You can then make what matches you want to have, and what condition the superstars are in. If you have a superstar attacked backstage before a match, you can edit the match so the attacked superstar is weaker in his or her match, just as they would obviously be on TV. This game is brilliant for wrestling fans, and very good for those who like a good game. I experience a complication where the Story Mode freezes after a period of time, but friends who have the game fail to have this problem so it may be my console that needs cleaning. That said, go and buy this game....wrestling fans will not be disappointed! Non wrestling fans may not appreciate who the superstars are, but nonetheless will find a perfectly functioning game. =================================== |

I have it, it's fun. The CAW is great, however I have a slight problem with the fact that you have a limited amount of things that you can wear. Like for Death I gave him pants, boots, a shirt, gloves and elbow pads, but then it wouldn't let me give him his jacket because it was too many points. So for his entrance he couldn't wear his elbow pads. Other than that it is cool. Plus you can have 4 different outfits. I made a Hiro CAW and gave him 4 different colored outfits so I can play as him in different outfits like Rey does. Plus the superstar threads are pretty fun to change around, but there should either be more that you can edit or give you the chance to completely change their outfits. Also the CAW RTWM wasn't great. There should be a way that you can make your character actually act the way you think he should. Like Death is a mean old Taker like wrestler but you have no choice and he doesn't act at all like I would want him to. Plus they start you off just being in the audience, okay seriously Death wouldn't just be sitting there, nor would any wrestler that looks like him lol So you beat up Santino and win the IC title then your next match and multiple other matches are handicap matches! Why must they always put you at a disadvantage in RTWM? Last year's RTWM they screwed you over in every title shot you got. It is annoying. Also a weird thing is the fact that you can't have guys go up against women anymore. And if you have DQ on and you attack a woman manager you get DQ'd, how that works I have no clue. I like the fact that you can download other people's CAWs but don't like the fact that you can't edit anything about them, including lookds, moves, entrances, etc. I downloaded Tyson Kidd and DH Smith and put the Hart Dynasty music on my computer to give it to them but I can't edit them so I can't use it except for making a tag team with them and using it. Also they need to fix up the create a finisher. Firstly they need finishers that would be more suited to high flyers because a lot of the moves you have to pick them up or are just ddts, there should be more choices that someone small like Rey could do. Also the diving finishers suck pretty much because the wrestler just floats in the air before they hit the finish. Edited by KBO, Nov 3 2009, 03:19 PM.

Hiro Masaru is both the IC and US champ lol he beat The Miz and then challenged Morrison for a title vs title match. The rest are the correct champions though, actually I think I have Orton as the champ instead of Cena. Later I'm gonna post my CAWs, Death and Hiro Masaru (all 4 attires, which are basically the same with different colors except the tight designs are different with each outfit). I'll be making a Double D and Grim Reaper as well. Some day I'll try to make an in depth storyline, I started a Legacy vs Hart Dynasty but I didn't know exactly what to do with it so I stopped. Maybe I'll write out some script then do it. Also it kind of sucks how you can only do 10 CAWs in a Story, so if you had an E-Fed and wanted to play it out on there you could only use 10 instead of your whole roster, however if your roster is less than 10 it works out well lol |

I have an awesome storyline at the minute....bits borrowed from TNA's Main Event Mafia v Frontline storyline.... ![]() Basically it's me, Tank and the Ruthless Roundtable collectively known as the Legendary Mafia... against various superstars - notably Cena and Jeff Hardy (because they're the ones I genuinely hate) ![]() King and Cole welcome us to the first show and announce that the main event is Cena vs Rob. I have Regal talking to me backstage before I cut him off and say "Just make sure everything is ready for tonight". Later Cena arrives by car (I wanted him to drive himself, but alas it's a limo ) Regal then attacks Cena backstage and we have a backstage brawl (to emphasize the attack more than anything) then we get to the Main Event where it's me vs Cena - Last Man Standing match. Cena is obviously weaker since he's been attacked and I edit that in the menu. After the match Cena is wheeled out on a stretcher....and Michael Cole says how sick I am and the show ends. ![]() The 2nd show opens with me, Vladimir Kozlov, Regal, and Tank in the ring. I'm on the mic and say that this is the beginning of a new era....blah blah blah (insert general heel stuff here). Then I say, "No longer will you see Cena on Raw - we beat him to within an inch of his life!" Later we see Regal backstage chatting to Mickie James, he asks her if she'd like to be within the female talent of the Mafia. She is initially reluctant after what happened to Cena, but says she doesn't want to end up the same way, so she'll think about it. We have a match on the card then, Maryse vs Eve. Maryse wins and proclaims she is the newest member of the Legendary Mafia during a post-match beatdown of Eve and Cole comments that he hopes Mickie doesn't follow in Maryse's footsteps. Later Hardy challenges me to a TLC match for the WWE title, in a promo while sitting on a ladder. Hardy wins. (Yes, someone I hate beats me for the title - bear with me )Hardy says to me that my reign of terror is over, and that he won for Cena, as he knows he's watching at home. I warn him that we will get even.... Cut to a scene where Hardy is about to get in his car to go home at the end of the show, when IT BLOWS UP!!!!!!!!!! Hardy mutters to himself that the Legendary Mafia must have done it, but did we? |

I'm just using the WWE guys in my storylines. I'm not that great with CAWS. I'll probably be making a fairly lengthy Jericho storyline. Does anyone know how long you can make the storylines? And maybe something involving Regal, Koslov & Jackson. |
