It had been a long day. Anderoth had stayed with D'fid as long as he could, but what his rider needed then was Healers, not a dragon looming over everything. Besides, there was someone else who did need him, someone whose dragon wasn't yet grown enough to participate in the Fall at all. And so the steel dragon returned to his weyr alone after dunking himself in the lake to wash off any remaining smoke and ash. Sorry it's so late. D'fid is doing paperwork. He's fine, he called as he arrived and peered to see where Lexien was. |

"You LIE." Lexien was not livid, but worried. Mikazuchith was no better, the brown having been pacing restlessly through the Fall and wanting desperately to be up in the skies to join, but she had kept him back. She was just as worried. Being a dragonless meant she had not been part of the Fall, but she had wanted to be there now. Now that she could take care of him. "How bad is it?" |

I told you this was a terrible plan, Anderoth told his rider while looking guiltily down at Lexien. Just keep stalling. At least until the Healers finish with the numbweed. Please, D'fid said, trying to block out everything else he felt. Blast Thread, burns were less painful! Anderoth's eyes whirled a worried yellow. It's not bad. I mean, it's paperwork, so it's definitely unpleasant, but... He'll heal fine. From the paperwork. Paper cuts. Obviously. |

Lexien rolled her eyes, stepping over. "C'mere you big dummy." She said, reaching out to his big dumb face. And his big dumb head. "Come on in like the idiot you are. I'll get you oiled and Mikazuchith will make sure you're not going to run off and do something else foolish, like continuing to lie to me." She paused a bit. "Tell him he better get better or I will go find him." |

Thank you, Anderoth said quietly, glad for the oiling. He was sure that D'fid would be using him as an example for Candidates for the foreseeable future, but for tonight, he'd be glad for Lexien's help. And the he will. The um... paperwork said he would. He shouldn't be hard to find though. I believe he's the one in the infirmary complaining the loudest about... paperwork. See, technically he hadn't said anything. D'fid couldn't complain that he'd told Lexien. She'd just figured it out on her own. |

"Uh-huh. Sure." Lexien rolled her shoulders, and got to work on Anderoth. She had done this multiple times before, oiling dragons was routine. Mikazuchith, however, snorted bitterly at the older dragon, knocking his head against Anderoth's like the idiot upstart he was. Stupid. Why'd you go and get yourself hurt?! He scolded, probably taking on more from Lexien than he would have wanted to admit. |

It was the wind. We couldn't get out of the way in time. If there'd been time I would've sooner caught it than him. I have thicker hide. Anderoth looked guiltily at Lexien. He doubted she'd agree. She used him as a bed often enough. Where would she even go if she couldn't sleep on him? Don't tell him I told you. He doesn't want you to worry. The Healers are giving me numbweed, not fellis. I do know what you're doing, D'fid commented dryly. Paying attention to his dragon was much better than paying attention to... everything around him. |
