A light blinds you as you move forward, but it fades quickly, and you close the door behind you. Having entered the classroom late, you rush to find a seat, and are able to get to one without tripping on anyone with the help of your abnormal leg functionality. The sitting process itself is much more awkward, but it's something you've become accustomed to and hardly mind anymore. You notice the guy beside you, an academic rival of sorts as well as one of the many other non-mortal students of the city. At the front of the room, Professor Windsor is running an alchemy experiment using the heavenly transmutation process, a thaumaturgy ritual that can transform mundane materials into... other mundane materials. While useful and impressive, the ritual itself isn't especially engaging nor is the result mind-blowing; some soil was turned into salt. "...salt is an incredibly important resource in our everyday lives. Its uses stretch from mundane cooking to the repelling of the dead, and it's a staple of the local economy. Salt comes in many dif..." professor Windsor trailed on until the end of the lecture. The biggest thing to take away from the lecture was an upcoming exam that you should study for tonight. Other things begin to crowd your mind as you walk out of the university into the streets of Great Forks however, such as the guy from class ahead of you. Although he'd be easy to catch-up to, the festivities of the temple district are distracting, and he keeps on walking ahead as you stop at your home. A couple of your priests are home, although many of the others are out enjoying festivities. You turn and peer out the door before you close it, taking another look at the festivities outside. Your hand lingers on the door handle. |

As Thicket of Ample Motility lingers in the doorway, he mulls his options over in his head. Studying would have direct benefits of course, but heading back out to enjoy festivities is an awfully alluring option, and Thicket couldn't shake a weird feeling about the one boy. On the other hand, festivities are an extremely common occurrence in Great Forks, averaging several dozen a day. Keeping in mind that he'd run into the guy in class again, Thicket decided to spend the night studying in preparation of the upcoming exam. Heading inside the shrine, Thicket greeted and passed several of his priests and priestesses, who either continued working or went out to party like all the cool kids. Coiling up in the backroom, Thicket attempted to study. Actions taken The Explanation

With time to spare, Thicket decides to practice his thaumaturgy skills by crafting a batch of Venom-Allaying Draught. In the main room of the shrine, Thicket's eldest daughter was setting up for the day. As the head priestess of the relatively small but moderately successful cult, without a doubt one of the largest ones for an elemental in all of creation, her duties were widespread and involved keeping track of where things are. "Good morning, mom" she said with a smile. The God-blooded, descendants of both mortals and spirits, are a rare sight in any other city. Although a very prevalent demographic in the first age of Creation, the Immaculate Order, the Terrestrial Exalted executioner-priests of the ruling Scarlet Dynasty, do not tolerate the mixing of mortal blood with the power of gods. Luckily, the scavenger lands are not subject to the policing of the Immaculate Order, and the city of Grand Forks is a haven to all those god-blooded children who form the majority of the population. All of Thicket's children are such creatures, although not necessarily of the same order of being; she continued "Are you looking for something?" "Just a few things to craft some venom-allaying draught. Where do you keep the ironwood sap?" "In the kitchen cabinet just to the left of the entrance, right with next to the..." Having left after hearing the necessary information, Thicket gathered up the necessary materials for the procedure in a nominal amount of time, as they're all things the shrine is stocked up heavily on. Although as a being capable of channeling essence, Thicket has the ability to craft alchemy rituals out of his personal essence pool, he chooses to commit to this activity manually for practice and essence efficiency. The explanation
