Your last glimpse of Autochthonia disappears from your mind as you step into the portal, and you feel the essence of your body break apart as you lose sensation and consciousness. The next thing you realize is that you're whole again, and you take note of your consciousness. You feel as though no time has passed, although you can tell that the time of day certainly is different. Normally, you would associate such phenomena with the recovery from a procedure at a Vats Facility, although you quickly remember that this is not the case. You open your eyes and find yourself not hooked up to the standard aiding equipment, and struggle to stand on your own merit while recalibrating from the travel. Around you, a strange land unlike anything you've seen before. A single massive light, hanging from a blue roof farther than any you could have experienced in your natural tunnel-society, seems to light the entire world and beyond. A strange green mold seems to cover the entire ground, it feels soft on your feet and you enjoy it. From behind you, a voice comes, "Champion! I am Explorative Demiurge (01) of [city you're from], and welcome to Creation!" You turn to find a mortal man who you recognize as a Vats Facility technician. With him is a small crew of other Autochthonian mortals, although you recognize none of them. Before leaving, you were debriefed on the group of other explorers you would meet upon arrival, and you notice one is missing. You speak as such, "Demiurge 01, there is a member of our group who is not present. Is this known to you?" "Yes, Construct of Melody, it is. We've been dealing with a local mining tribe in order to establish a proper Vats Facility, exchanging manpower and technological aid for materials and secrecy. However, during one mining operation, another tribe attacked and captured one of our fellow citizens. We have a lock on his essence signal, and could track him to the other tribe's home on the other side of the nearby forest, but have been unable to obtain him without the aid of a champion such as yourself." "Is the missing citizen critical to our operations?" "Yes and no, champion. Unfortunately, he is one of our 3 demiurges on the mission, and our ability to construct a Vats Facility without him is insufficient. We could send word back to [City] and request a replacement demiurge, but if word spread of this dangerous land it could very well risk the political ending of our mission here. In either case champion, we need you to take action." |

A churning of thought begins within me. First in my mind is the tune. Then thought. There is little reason not to save the demiurge. "Explorative Demiurge (01), your name leaves much to be desired. In order to blend in with the creatures of creation you need a new name. I shall call you ROB. Do you accept?" The demiurge looks confused, but happy at the immediate informality. "Yes, Champion." "Excellent. We move out to rescue the kidnapped one." Underneath me there is a slight shaking, as though something were moving about underground. I feel a great uneasiness. This fleshy world lacks the beauty of Autochthonia's passages. There is something greatly unsettling about the sky. "Champion, we have reports of a mass of land, with 5 trees moving about the forest." "Then we all shall take care. This is an alien world, and I am not familiar with the flora and fauna...and whatever else there may be." Edited by MegaTonneTron, Jan 31 2013, 10:57 AM.

You proceed into the forest with a team of your two demiurges, the village chieftain, and two of his men. You are fully armed in your equipment, and the two demiurges are armed with standard mundane crossbows, while the creation-born men among you wield axes of various forms between them. Until your arrival, the Vats technician team had been using crude forms of communication with the barbarian society, but your Gemstone of Spoken Language allows you to communicate with them for the first time. They appear as human as the mortals you serve to protect in Autochthonia, although you're unaware of the historical connection between the two. While physically more brutish than your companions, the barbarians give an air of cripplingly lower intelligence and grace - you speculate that Creation must be a land not nearly as advanced or developed as Authchthonia. The forest is a place that causes great concern for you. You're unfamiliar with nearly everything in this environment, the grass and trees are as foreign to you as wildlife or any potential enemies. The leader of the barbarians stops moving, and the others signal for you to stop as well. He makes crude motions that attempt to explain his intentions to you and your allies, while talking in a tongue that only you understand "We stop. Too many vines. Wood Spiders." You look around and notice what you had missed, that the area around you has considerably more vines in it then previously, and some of them seem to be beginning to form simplistic patterns. Although you don't know what a wood spider is, it hardly sounds intimidating, and the mortal barbarians don't understand the extent of your power to any degree. Your demiurges do not appear scared in any way, confident in your ability. The chieftain looks at you and ask "You think?" How do you choose to proceed? |

Robocircuits blaze for information about "Wood Spider"... Understanding insignificant. Now is as good a time as any to learn more about this world's threats. Turning to the lead barbarian: "Wood Spider. What. Is.?" He makes a frightening gesture and points forward. He only points to a particularly thick cluster of vines. The demiurges seem eager for a display of power, and I am willing to oblige them. The amalgum of souls writhes within me. Robomode: SEEK AND DESTROY Edited by MegaTonneTron, Feb 12 2013, 05:32 PM.
