Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Featuring: Negasonic Teenage Warhead Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Wee Hours of the Morning Location: Genosha Ellie Phimister sat bolt upright, panting heavily. The same dream again. They were coming. There was someone here they wanted and they'd stop at nothing to get him. They were going to set everybody free, but it was going to be ugly and bloody. The mutant who'd dubbed herself the Negasonic Teenage Warhead laid back down on her cot, staring at the wall across from her. Her dream came again, this time as a vision. The prison stood in the distance, dark and forbidding in the pre-dawn hours. A few guards lingered around the gates, huddled near the office in the cool late winter night. They were armed both with lethal high grade military weapons, but also special rifles containing darts that would temporarily render a mutant powerless. The dry season was just beginning, but the days were still short and nights chillier than one would expect from the tropical climate. The night was clear and calm. The outer walls of the prison were thirty feet high, electrified and containing a nasty power dampening jolt along with enough electricity to fell a bull elephant in a red rage. Seven inches thick and nearly indestructible, there were only two visible gates. Which were heavily guarded. The prison was completely self-contained, everything within the near impervious walls. A few Sentinels were visibly standing watch, unmoving except for their heads as they scanned the perimeter. Eighteen feet tall, the purple and silver robots were constructed of ceramics and silica composites to make them durable and resistant to many of the powers of the mutants they hunted and guarded. Armed with a multitude of lasers, chainguns and non-lethal detainment equipment, they were formidable jailers. The Sentinels didn't seem to notice the small group assembled in the distance. Preparing, waiting for their opening. For the command to begin the assault. But they weren't the only ones about to be drawn into the battle. Far, far away, there was a figure tumbling through time and space. As the group began their attack on the horrifying prison, another one was being drawn into it against her will. She was literally about to drop into the middle of the chaos without warning. The final player in this drama lay deep in the bowels of the prison. A prisoner himself, heavily guarded and and confined, no one was supposed to even know he was there until it was far too late. Awaiting execution, he was about to be set free. All hell was about to break loose. Ellie smiled softly as she rolled onto her back. "Here they come," she murmured low, inaudible over the snoring of the prisoner in the next cell. It didn't matter if anyone could hear her warning or not. They were here. It was beginning. Summary: That's your cue, guys! Tag: X-Force, Cloud Nine:, Wicked: OOC: Storyteller: Dee |

Featuring: Cable: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Wee Hours of the Morning Location: Genosha This wasn't the first time Cable skulked about in a jungle and it probably also wouldn't be the last. Though it was the first time in many years that he was in Genosha. Garbed in his usual fatigues and body armour he had just completed final checks on his weapons and equipment. His variable setting plasma rifle and plasma pistols were in excellent shape, his psimitar and the assortment of blades, explosives, and breaching tools checked out fine as well. Even the special surprise that he and Forge built for this operation was good to go. With everything in readiness on his end it was time to touch base with the other members of the team in their locations. A quick press of a button and his communicator was broadcasting, “All right team finish up any final checks on your gear because in three minutes I’m kicking off the distraction for this operation so let’s do a quick recap,” the time travelling commando informed his team. “First part of the plan is just like we laid it out. I go in from the air and attempt to engage the sentinels and draw them up into the air away from the facility while Lady Mastermind convinces the guards that there’s a concerted land based invasion trying to overrun the prison. While this is going on Domino, Silver Samurai, and Blink slip into the prison with their chief objectives being locating the high priority prisoners since that’s where Xavier will most likely be if he’s in the facility and a way to deactivate all of the inhibitor collars. While that’s going on Avalanche is going to make sure that all land approaches to the prison are impassable to limit the amount of potential reinforcements that can support the facility.” Cable paused for a moment before continuing. “All in all the plan will probably hold together for a short time at best so be ready to adapt to the situation as soon as things go belly up in the ditch. Watch each other’s backs and stay in contact via your radios. Remember folks, three minutes then the fun starts.” Releasing the broadcast button Cable began securing the tools of his trade to his equipment harness before donning the surprise. It fit his back like an oversized metallic back pack covered with large protrusions and plates seemingly folded in and strapped onto him with a parachute style harness. Checking the controls and displays showed everything was responsive and ready for use. Checking a timer he could see that it was almost time to kick things off. Five seconds, four, three, two, one, “Go!” he called over the radio as he powered up the surprise, wing foils snapping into place and miniaturized jet engines igniting. Controls being manipulated by telekinesis Cable engaged the throttle on his flight harness and he rocketed up through the jungle canopy before screaming towards the prison. He flew in low in an attempt to mask his radar profile much in the way a cruise missile approaches a target hugging the tree tops and relying on his cybernetic eye to give him a clear field of view in the darkness. He knew that the guards would hear him coming and that the sentinels would be responding to the noise as well and low and behold as he gained altitude before the prison walls he could see the sentinel guards turning to face him. Not giving them time to analyse the threat he brought up his plasma rifle and took aim at the lead sentinel in the prison compound, targeting the location of its power source and opening fire with a salvo of plasma hot enough to cut straight through mechanized behemoth leaving it a dying hulk falling over as it’s systems failed. A quick change of weapon settings and Cable unleashed a barrage of lower powered shots targeting the optic sensors of some of the other units. Seeing as he had their attention he pulled up sharply and headed for the sky drawing the dying sentinels immediate compatriots after him. Summary: Quick review of the plan and the fun starts. Featuring: Blink: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Early Morning Location: Genosha Should she have told them the other reason she wanted to get in here? Should she have mentioned the very specific mutant she was intent on freeing, should he still be alive? Clarice had asked herself those questions for days now, and had come close to saying something. But each time, she chose against it. She had no idea if the man had even survived the attack that had killed so many of her friends, and even if he had, if the Genoshans found out his identity, wouldn't they kill him immediately? Executing Magneto, even a de-aged version, would be an incredible coup for the anti-mutant legion. On the other hand, she kept assuring herself, if they did capture him and realize who he was, they would want his execution to be loud and public, so that everyone could see just how powerful and indomitable they were. They would also keep his actual capture quiet, to avoid fanatical rescue attempts before his execution. At least, she told herself that. In between telling herself that he had probably been killed in the initial raid. But Clarice didn't want him to be dead, so she ignored that part. In the end, she chose not to tell the team exactly who she was here to try to rescue in particular. It would take too much to explain that Magneto wasn't a bad guy anymore, that he wanted to make up for what he'd done before. It would distract them. And they might just choose not to help. Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission, in this case, if it freed the man she cared about. “All good.” She checked in with Cable as the man gave last minute reminders and instructions before looking at the two she was teleporting in with. The Samurai and the Mercenary. She gave them a thumbs up. “We're gonna bring the jailhouse down.” The moment the distraction began, Blink pulled two of her javelins out, stood near her companions, and created a portal beneath them. They would be transported by the portal into the main entrance of the prison, just outside the control room. Blink had been there before, though she had not been inside the control room itself, which would have made teleporting into it with all the defenses it certainly had fairly difficult, if not impossible. The room itself was incredibly defensible, behind a vault-like door, and used a hand-print scanner for entrance. But that was okay. She had a plan. As soon as they arrived in the corridor, Blink turned toward the wide, heavily reinforced and bullet resistant glass that lined the control room. She looked straight at the two guards inside, and stuck her tongue out at them, making the most annoying, ridiculous face she could. The guard nearest the alarm on the wall leapt for it. As he did, Blink threw one of her javelins toward the hand-print scanner next to the door. A small, glowing pink portal appeared over it. At the same time, the other end of the portal opened up directly over the alarm panel that the guard had been reaching for. Rather than pull the emergency alert as he had been trying to do, the guard's hand smacked directly into the scanner, which read his identity, chimed, and then opened the door to admit the three mutants into the control room that would grant access to the rest of the facility and the records. “After you.” She gestured toward Samurai and Domino. Featuring: Lady Mastermind: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Morning Location: Genosha If Regan Wyngarde had known that paling around with the X-Types would result in such fun situations as a raid on a Genoshan prison camp, she might not have refused the idea so vehemently back when Xavier first offered her a place at his school. On the other hand, they probably would have expected her to follow all sorts of shudder rules and orders the whole time. So no, staying on her own, doing anything she wanted and not letting anyone get in her way still felt like the right way to go. But for now, for Xavier, the man who had saved her, she'd play along. “Whatever you say, Eastwood.” She replied to the old man going over the instructions yet again. Eesh, did he think they'd all developed sudden-onset amnesia (repeatedly)? Maybe he was so old he kept forgetting that they'd already been over this. While waiting for the three minutes to pass, Regan focused her attention on the prison yard laid out beyond. Rather than use binoculars to see further, she simply cast her telepathy forward into one of the guards manning a watchtower and saw through his eyes as he scanned the grounds around the tower. From there, Regan expanded her influence toward the remaining watchtowers, where the alarms were. She carefully, resolutely took a light hold of the minds of those guards first. Gradually, she showed each guard the image of the guard in a different tower being replaced by an enemy. The enemy they saw would then begin to take aim with their own weapon, leaving the watching guard only time to sight in and shoot the 'intruder' She set this up so that each watch tower guard would be covered by one of his fellows, and timed it carefully so that the first shot wouldn't happen until Cable's big distraction began at the end of the three minute marker. Finally, once Cable's attack was underway and hopefully drawing the Sentinels upward, Regan let the men she had manipulated shoot one another, from tower to tower. She then used the gunshots and falling bodies to reinforce the illusion that she began to cast throughout the remaining guards along the ground, that they were under attack from within. The illusion she cast would show one of half of the guards that the other half were all attackers swarming in to free the prisoners, and vice versa for the remaining half. Summary: Regan starts to do her part. Tag: X-Force and others |

Featuring: Cloud Nine: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Early Morning Location: Genosha It was too early for breakfast, though Abby had been awake for awhile. It was hard to sleep in these cramped cells, so she often found herself staring through the tiny window at the patch of sky, telling herself that some day she'd be able to fly whenever, and wherever she wanted to. Her stomach had just begun to remind her that she hadn't eaten enough the night before, when the sound of gunfire brought the girl to her feet in such a rush that she nearly got tangled in her own thin blanket. Kicking it aside, she moved quickly to look out into the hallway through the energy barrier that kept her locked in the room. The guards were shooting.... each other? There was an entire war going on out there, from the sound of things, only from what little she could see, the guards were fighting one another. Had some of them turned rogue? What was going on? A sudden burst of fire hit the energy shield in front of her, throwing up a flare of light that made Abby yelp and fall backwards. As she fell, second burst of fire took out the control panel near her cell, and the energy field that had kept her locked in vanished just as it did every morning when they let her out to work. Only this time, she wasn't being escorted anywhere. None of the guards were paying attention, so lost were they in attacking each other. For a long, frozen moment, Abby just sat where she had fallen and stared at that opening. If she left, if she took this chance to escape and failed, they'd never, ever let her fly again. They'd (literally) ground her forever, or drop her in a deep dark hole and make her do nothing but hard labor. Or worse. Yet if she didn't take this chance, what kind of person was she? Was she content to simply accept her life now, and wait for someone else to take all the risks? Was she really that broken? Was she that much a slave? Breathing deeply and rapidly, Abby scrambled back to her feet. She poked her head out, looking one way, then the other, then left the cell in a rush before the energy barrier could somehow be reset. Summoning her cloud beneath her feet, inside the prison for the first time, Abby let it lift her a foot off the ground, then fly her down the corridor in the direction she believed Wicked's cell was. “Wicked!” She yelled over the sound of the firefight as she searched for her friend. "Wicked, where are you?!" Summary: Abby takes the opening she gets. Tag: ST, X-Force, Wicked: |

Featuring: Domino: Date: Monday, Sept. 1 Time: Early Morning Location: Genosha To say that Domino was armed would be an understatement. Though she rarely went into a fight with fewer than six loaded firearms, she’d opted for something more in the ten range, just to be safe. From the sound of it, there would be plenty of things to shoot at, and plenty of things shooting back at her. Beyond that, she’d taken along a handful of regular knives, along with a dozen or so smaller throwing darts. She’d spent enough time already that week getting shot, and she wasn’t really interested in having to pay the annoying little healer shit in New York another visit. As Nathan recapped the plan, while undoubtedly powering up the extra awesome jet-pack that Forge had made and she wished she could have worn, Dom stretched, waiting patiently for him to finish his briefing. “Wait, we were supposed to bring gear for this one?" Dom was smiling faintly as she held the button down on her comm, raising an eyebrow in Cable’s general direction as she added, “Don’t you dare break that toy, Nate. You promised me I could play with it later.” Given his plans for it (and the fact that he hadn’t actually made any promise), the odds of her actually having the opportunity to take it for a ride were pretty slim. Of course, if he broke that, there was a good chance that he'd end up breaking himself somehow as well, and that wasn't really something she wanted to see happen either. As they dropped in, she drew one of her pistols, readying it while Blink worked on their access situation, first by taunting the men in the secured room. Always a great opening move. When the door opened, she was ready, and she stepped through, firing two quick shots and dispatching the guards. “Lock it up,” she instructed, slipping into one of the now vacated seats at the control panel and holstering her weapon. She leaned in and set to work, glancing up at Blink. “What’s the fastest path to max security?” “I’m going to cut power to the cells on the opposite side,” she explained, leaning down to yank an ID badge from one of the guards. Hopefully staging a power outage to one sector would be enough to send guards running there, under the assumption that the action outside was headed in that direction. “Do we know where the collar controls are?” Summary: Domino wants Cable's toy. Also, some spy stuff is happening too, I guess. Tag: X-Force, especially Silver Samurai: and Blink: |

The pen is NOT mightier than the sword.

Featuring: Silver Samurai: Date: September 1st Time: Early Morning Place: Genoshan Prison The Silver Samurai patiently waited for Blink and Domino to take care of the the control room. Weapons wise, he had three blades on him. He had his katana and a tanto on him, which was typical. However, in deference to Blink telling him earlier that there were large robots at the place, he had brought an odachi with a five foot blade strapped to his back. Kenichiro suspected it was enough blade to at least cripple a Sentinel. He simply slipped back to the main entrance to the area and waited. As there were three chairs in the control room, he suspected that they might have company soon. The mechanical noise of the electronic lock opening proved that his hunch was correct. A panicked guard ran in saying "The place is under attack! We have to hit the alarm!" That was all the guard could get out before a large hand grabbed the guard by the neck, spun him around, and drove him against the wall. Harada kept the struggling and panicked guard aloft, the man's feet dangling a good six inches off of the floor. A cold smile was on the Japanese fighter's face as he softly spoke to the guard. "Do you want to join your friends in death this day?" Drawing his tanto, he let the guard see the normal blade before infusing it with his tachyon field. Harada held it delicately, with barely any effort carving into the concrete wall as if it wasn't even there. Seeing the man panicking, Harada said "That isn't what I'd use on you though. It would be far too fast. No. You are going to tell us what we want to know, or I'll start with your fingers. And it isn't breaking them that hurts a man so much. It is twisting them around after they are broken." Taking the guard's radio to listen in on what orders the guards got, Harada waited for the man to answer. If he didn't, Kenichiro had no problems resorting to torture to get the information he needed. Fortunately for the guard, like most people on seeing someone Harada's size, he was sane enough to know this could not end well. "Oh God please don't kill me!" the guard squealed. Hyperventilating, the man said "I just work here to get paid! I have a family and they need me to bring home some money!" Shaking in terror, the man blurted "I just know they keep the powerful ones in the basement!" Featuring: Nocturne: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Early Morning Location: Genosha Unlike Blink's pink portals, the next transportation-based light that appeared on the ceiling of the guard's control room where Blink, Domino, and Silver Samurai stood was dark red. Also unlike Blink's portals, this one appeared to have learned to speak. Or at the very least, scream. ”AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" For Talia Josephine Wagner, it felt as though she had been falling for at least thirty seconds through a tunnel of blood red light. She felt her momentum slow considerably, then the blinding red light around her gave way to the normal light of a room full of consoles and monitors that she was barely able to take in before landing rather painfully (though not cripplingly) on her back on the floor. “Ow.” TJ grunted, lying on the floor for a moment after the portal she had fallen through closed behind her. Her eyes remained closed as she winced. “I swear, Mr. Summers, if you'd just learn to control yourself and stop having these emotional freakouts....” Eyes opening, she found herself looking up at a very different sight than the one she expected. “Whoa!” Flipping herself up (rather impressively) from her prone position on the floor to being crouched on the ceiling with her bare two-toed feet planted firmly there and her tail lashing agitatedly behind her, TJ looked down at the three strangers. “Not one of you is Cyclops. Not unless that machine did something I'm pretty sure not even he was expecting.” “Wait! The machine.” What followed was a complicated series of hand gestures that accompanied sporadic bursts of words as her mind caught up with things. “It just—and he wanted—and it was supposed to—and I just—and there's—and this is-- and that means-- so you must-- awwww fuckbunnies.” Having taken all that in, she let herself fall back to the floor, inverting to land on her feet. “Would 'I'll explain later' suffice? Because, ahh, you guys look busy.” She pointed out into the hall where all the fighting was still going on. Summary: TJ falls in. Literally. Tag: Blink: Silver Samurai: and Domino: directly. |

Featuring: Avalanche: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Way too early as far as Lance is concerned Location: Genosha While most of the group probably didn't need the recap, Lance was glad of it. Mostly because it was too fucking early in the morning for this shit, and his mind wasn't really all that capable of remembering things he'd already been told. Not like it was ever that great when it came to recall anyway but the attempt to be alert and functioning as some sort of Bond guy at this hour was beyond him. Lance wasn't nearly as heavily armed as some of his teammates, but that didn't mean he was completely without means. A couple of guns, his switchblade, sunglasses, insect repellent because he'd read Cracked articles about the sort of bugs that lived in the jungle, and the weapon he was the most acquainted with, himself, had been enough for him. As he listened to Cable's broadcast, he nodded along. Yeah, he was a little annoyed that he wasn't heading inside to get up close and personal with these bastards, but he understood the reasoning behind it. He'd been out of this game for too damn long for one. And another was that he was liable to go completely fucking unscripted the moment something inside of that hellhole set him off. Odds of that were too damn high. Which left him to play out everyone's favorite battle tactic: cut the fuckers off from the outside world as much as goddamn possible. He was fine and dandy with that. If he got to punch a few perimeter guards in the face while following orders, all the better. It would be a win win. Lance cracked his knuckles and then rolled his shoulders as he nodded along with the words. "If we play this level again, I want to cut the power to the damn wall and time how long it takes me to shake through it," he said over the comms. His starting position was further away than the others, deeper in the surrounding jungles. When Cable's call to action sounded over the comms, he took a few steps backward, starting a countdown in his head. Thirty seconds and then time for a little shake, rattle and roll. "Right, Alvers, let's make this good. Going for impassable." And this time he needed to make sure that he was on the right side of the barricade because that shit was always embarrassing. Rubbing his hands together, Lance Alvers took a deep breath and then worked on proving that he was still worthy of the moniker Avalanche. It started as a low rumbling deep in the ground but it started to escalate rather quickly. The first pillar erupted in the matter of seconds, shooting straight up among the trees about twenty feet high. The disturbance was hopefully localized enough that it wasn't going to send everyone nearby into a panic over earthquakes, but he didn't have the time to be worrying too much over that. One pillar, two pillar, three pillar. They were going up quicker than he would have predicted and, so far, without too much physical strain. The teeny, tiny part of him that made sensible decisions--and sounded a lot like Paige--was telling him that maybe he should take it slow and easy, knock on some wood, something cautious. Lance, however, had never made a habit of that sort of thing so he just followed up the pillars with a nice deep trench on either side of them. About eight feet deep and seven feet wide should do nicely. Approximately cause it wasn't like Lance was goddamn Cyclops with a calculate for a brain. One obstacle down and many, many more to go, Lance leaned against a tree for a moment to catch his breath and let an unwanted wave of dizziness pass. Surely that was not fucking footsteps in the distance, right? Cause that was all he needed at the moment. Summary: Lance is actually managing himself pretty well without a handler. Or not. Featuring: Wicked Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Early Morning Location: Genosha All hells had broken loose. Wicked had woken up at the commotion, shocked to the see the field in front of her cell gone. Summoning forth a dozen spirit friends, she sent them out to check out what was going on. Like most of the mutants in the low security prison, she had no idea what was going on and if making a break for it was even a good idea. Wicked wanted a better look before she dared defy her captors. Which was the prison was under attack. Some guy with power armor wings was slagging Sentinels. The guards were shooting at each other. Alarms were starting to blare and prisoners were starting to scatter. That's when she heard Abby calling her name. "Abby, in here!" she called to the cloud riding mutant. "Before someone sees you. There's more guards coming." Her spirits that had been sent deeper into prison had seen more guards. Wicked sat down on her bunk, sending her senses into one of them, she saw the trio of mutants dispatching guards. The one with the black patch over her eye said something about the collar controls. Sending the ghost towards them, she had it hold up it's hands in a peaceful gesture. Then pointed towards the off limits area. There was an elevator there down to a sub level. If it was there, it was anywhere. Unfortunately, somebody had already thought of that. "No!" Wicked cursed as her mind was forced back into her body as her powers shut off just as the flash of red blinded the invaders. Her ghosts disappeared. "There's people trying to help us. They want to deactivate the collars. I tried to show them, but they cut my powers off!" That meant more guards and probably Sentinels were coming. She looked at Abby. "What should we do?" If this attack was fended off, they were dead for trying to flee or help the attackers. But they were probably dead anyway. Still she was scared and not sure what to do. Summary: Wicked tries to help the invaders, but is stymied when her powers get shut off. She asks Abby what she thinks they should do. Tag: X-Force, Cloud Nine: |

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
|
Featuring: The defenders of the Genoshan Prison Date: Monday, September 1st Time of Day: Early Morning Place: Genosha The guards' radios were buzzing with confused clamor. Those outside were attacking the others thinking they were part of an invasion that had somehow begun from within the prison itself. It didn't take long for the guards in the yards and towers to rout each other. The first wave of reinforcements was distracted as the power in the minimum security wing went down, freeing the prisoners there. All the collars of every prisoner was quickly activated as a precaution from the power outage and security breach. Two Sentinels managed to dodge the worst of Cable's barrage as two more fell from the sky under the hail of fire. They opened fire with the chainguns in their arms, seeking to ventilate Nathan the way he had their comrades. A third Sentinel flew up behind him and blasted straight at his jetwings with a small barrage of rockets. One of the attackers was a telepath or illusionist of some sort, by the way the men were tricked into attacking each other. An immediate scan of the area detected no new mutant signature. It was time to deploy the Hounds. A Sentinel, smaller than the standard eighteen feet at a mere twelve feet emerged from a bay, surrounded by three dog like Sentinels. A command and the Hounds started casting around. One of them let out a high pitched noise and all three took off in that direction. Straight towards Regan. As the very ground rose up to block off reinforcements, two more Sentinels turned their attention on the seismic mutant. They peppered the area with chain gun fire, seeking to completely obliterate Lance. Inside the prison, things were going slightly better for X-Force. Human reinforcements were still scrambling and although they didn't have access to their powers, many of the freed mutants were doing their best to fight their captors with whatever weapons were at hand. A platoon of guards armed with mutation nullifying darts and conventional machine guns emerged from a blast door. "Surrender or be eliminated," the leader demanded. While the intruders were in the control room, they couldn't open direct fire without destroying vital systems. Another group emerged from a blast door on the opposite side of the room. "We have you surrounded." Deep in the bowels of the prison, a debate was going on about the fate of one of the prisoners. "You should destroy him now," a mechanical voice demanded. "Then destroy the invaders. He should have been eliminated when he was captured. His continued existence only encourages this type of attacks." Bolivar Trask shook his head. "No," he said. "They're a handful of mutant insurgents. If any of them survive, they can join him on the execution block." He took a sip of his wine. "If you're so concerned about it, deploy the Sleepers." Master Mold sat back, clearly considering the idea. "No," the giant Sentinel concluded. "It is not time for the Sleepers to waken. I will deploy the Mark III's. But the prisoner still needs to die. It will break their morale." Summary The defenders of the Prison strike back. Tag: X-Force, Wicked: and Cloud Nine: |

Featuring: Cable: Date: September 1st Time: Early Morning Location: Genosha Rocketing up through the dark sky Cable was pleased with the results of his opening barrage and the response he had gotten from the Sentinels. Though as gatling rounds tore through the air around him and missiles filled the sky the mutant commando had to think fast in order to avoid being destroyed by the Sentinels as bullets raked across the back of his flight harness damaging it heavily. His options were limited, the flight harness was damaged limiting its continued usefulness and so long as he was directing it with his telekinesis he couldn't split his attention between the different threats. There was only one choice that came to mind and that was to cut his losses. With a thought his telekinesis released him from the harness as straps and rigging separated, a powerful shove sent him hurtling away from the damaged device as he set the throttle to maximum and directed it towards the sentinels firing on him with their gatling guns. The separation was a gamble, while the Sentinels could track him separately from his flight harness the missiles would hopefully remain locked onto the heat generating device and the Sentinel gunners would hopefully take a moment to prioritize a target due to having to choose between the mutant free-falling and the flying object rocketing towards them with a salvo of explosive ordinance on its tail. Releasing his telekinetic grip on the controls Cable brought his plasma rifle to bare on the Sentinel which had launched the missiles and opened fire using a setting he hadn’t used yet in the fight. Before he launched bolts of plasma, now he was firing a thin continuous stream akin to a long ranged plasma cutter which he aimed that the legs of the Sentinel in a sweeping motion intending to hack off its propulsion system to send it into a free fall. Regardless of how this plan turned out Cable just knew that Domino wouldn’t be letting him hear the end of how he broke the team’s new toy before anyone else could play with it. Summary: Cable ditches the flight harness and tries to leg a Sentinel. Tag: X-Force, ST, and everyone else |

Featuring: Blink: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Early Morning Location: Genosha Blink had expected to be interrupted, by any number of events. One thing she had not counted on was the abrupt appearance of some blue skinned girl falling out of a portal that was entirely too unpink for Blink's own liking. For just a moment, she stared as the new arrival flipped herself to the ceiling and then seemed to realize where she was and what was going on. “Uhh...” Clarice shrugged at Domino and Samurai. “I kinda doubt rule 63'd Nightcrawler is on their side, whoever she is. Though she clearly doesn't know Cyclops very well.” Before she could respond to the question of where the collar controls were, more guards began to arrive with their own demands. “Nag nag nag.” Blink waved a hand derisively, summoning a portal that would send whoever went through it to the middle of the jungle to fill up the doorway. “I swear, you can't even break a few hundred mutants out of a maximum security slave hole without somebody getting all riled up about it.” “Collar controls are there.” She pointed to the panel behind Domino so that the other woman could take them out, while Clarice kept half her attention on the defensive portal. Keeping a portal open was a bit like holding her breath. She couldn't just do it indefinitely. Moving to the security monitors, Blink cycled through them until she found the view she was looking for. “Everyone ready to go? I've gotta drop the first portal to bring up this one, so be ready to drop in as soon as I do.” As she spoke, now that the portal was open, Clarice threw the nearby chair into the security monitor so that it wouldn't continue to show exactly where they were after they went through. “On the count of four because I refuse to be held to tradition. One... two.... three.... four.” At the end of her count, Blink summoned a portal into the bowels of the prison, as deep as she could take them, laying it over the floor in the middle of the room. At the same time, the other portal would drop, and Blink waited only long enough for her companions (including new girl) to drop through before she followed suit and closed the portal after them. Once they were through, she finally explained, not having wanted to say where they were going while they could be overheard. “I couldn't get us all the way into the maximum security wing. Power negation field. But right now we're one level above it.” Summary: Blink figures Nocturne clearly isn't one of the Genoshan guards, answers Domino, and ports them as low as she can in the prison. Featuring: Lady Mastermind: Date: Monday, September 1st Time: Morning Location: Genosha Regan really, truly hated robots. Technically, there weren't many beings she liked, but robots were even further down the list than most people. Seeing the approach of the sentinel-hounds and their 'handler', Regan gave a small snarl of her own. “Fantastic.” Slipping one of her handguns into one hand and the single grenade that she'd 'liberated' from Cable's stockpile into the other, she gave the pistol a doubtful look. “I'm gonna need a bigger weapon.” Her eyes glanced toward the largest tree nearby even as she heard the hound give its howl as they all charged straight toward her position. The tree was a massive thing, towering up into the jungle canopy that she stood at the edge of. A smile touched her face. “That'll do.” Working quickly as her searchers approached, Regan found a knothole near the bottom of the tree on the back side. She shoved the grenade deep into it as far as it would go, took a breath, and then stepped around in front of the tree. Facing her attackers, Regan raised her pistol and fired off three shots to make sure she had their attention and that they were coming straight for her. “Yo tinheads!” She shouted while firing off a fourth shot. “Come fucking get me.” Against their return fire, Regan hit the ground, rolling around to the back of the tree once more. Her hand went up and found the pin of the grenade and she yanked it out even as she scrambled back to her feet. Using the width of the tree for cover, Regan ran in a hunched over position, counting to four on the five second fuse of the grenade before hurtling herself as far away from it as she could get, covering her ears and tucking her face to the ground. If all went as it should, the blast would knock the tree over in the direction of the attackers, flattening them beneath its massive size. Summary: Regan gets a bit creative. Featuring: Domino: Date: September 1st Time of Day:Early Morning Place:Genosha Things were going great. Guards were advancing on them, strange blue girls were falling from the ceiling, and Domino had a wedgie. Overall, things were definitely going much better than anticipated. She paused very briefly in disabling the cells to look at the new arrival, who apparently did a whole portal thing of her own. Domino stared somewhat blankly at her as she stammered her way through not explaining anything, then looked up at Kenny once the girl decided she was done. They could shut her up pretty easily, but like Clarice had said, it didn't seem like she was a threat to them, and turning down help in a situation like the one they were in was probably a bad idea. "Lady Kurt can stay, as long as she stays out of the way." "By the way, that was a very sexy monologue, Kenny." Domino turned to the console, narrowing her eyes at the collar controls. They were complicated. Overly complicated, and even though she was sure she could work them out with time, time was something that they didn't really have much of just then, what with the guards swarming just outside the booth and Blink ready to take them down to where they needed to go. Besides, with the defensive portal dropped, nothing would stop the guards from simply reactivating the collars once they were gone. She stepped back and leveled a gun at the control panel, raising another at the guards as Blink started her countdown. When the girl hit three, Domino fired six shots - three at the panel and three at the guards. With any luck, that would be enough to take the collars out of commission, and enough to keep them from just rebooting everything and turning them back on. She landed in a crouch, holstering one of her weapons and blinking as he eyes adjusted to the new lighting on the lower level. Despite the blaring alarms, the level seemed relatively deserted, at least when compared to the crowd they'd encountered up higher, but there was little doubt in her mind that the silence wouldn't last. They had to move, and quickly. She held up the ID badge that she'd swiped from the guard upstairs. "Let's hope we have clearance," Domino started moving toward the end of the hall, glancing back at the newcomer. For as high security as the prison was supposed to be, they sure did seem to have a problem containing people who could teleport. "Girl Wagner. Are you a prisoner here?" Summary: Domino disables the collars and has a question for TJ. Tag: X-Force, specifically Silver Samurai:, Blink:, and Nocturne:. |
