Hello, hello, and welcome to another TUL Channel 3 News Update. In all seriousness, it IS a relative 3:00 in the morning here, so do pardon my spelling, possible slurring of words, and if I fall down, don't mind me - just let me sleep where I am. So, let's begin: First up on tonight's agenda is the creation of the TUL ZetaBoards test board. For those of you not already familiar with ZB, it's the effective 'upgrade' from the InvisionFree platform we're currently using. It's developed and run all by the same people, so it IS reliable, do trust me. The purpose of this board, as you'll soon find, is to give an example of what TULZB might look like, from top to bottom. Updates will be constant to the test site, so I hope to see a lot of comments on how it's looking - and these can range from suggestions to comments to amusement. You can find TULZB here: http://s1.zetaboards.com/TULZB/index/ The second topic is merely an extension of the first one: you'll find in the Shout Out! forum a new, pinned topic, one that also happens to include a poll. The question of the hour is: should we or should we not switch to ZB? As with all things, though, please - take your time. Wait until more of TULZB is unveiled, including the custom profile fields, the board settings, and the Guild-esque groups that will soon be open for your enjoyment - and will continue, should TUL upgrade. You can find it here. And now we skip down to items third, fourth, and fifth, all of which are relatively minor, but are pretty good nonetheless. First off, the Honored Members now - as per Cloud's request - are distinguished by a light-blue + symbol. Honored Members are, for our newer members, those who have managed to reach 3000 posts, and as such are among some of the oldest and most dedicated users on the site. Item the fourth: Many of you might be concerned about your eyesight if you happen to glance up at your Inbox when you have a message. In order to make PMs LESS easy to miss, the Inbox link will now flash red whenever you have a new PM. So pay attention, okay? Finally, something that's been mentioned to me quite a few times over the last few months that I've been a fully-active user and staff member: the opening of the Merry-go-round'o Fun to ALL users - meaning that instead of waiting for an administrator to post a new game, you may now post your own. And due to a lack of sleep, you should see pinned rules tomorrow, while the temporary rules are: 1) All board rules still apply. 2) Spamming here won't help your post count, but will still get you warned and suspended. 3) Duplicate games will be merged. Cheers, and sleep well, TUL. locke|administrator edit// Two new skins - zetaBLUE and Vector'd - have been added to the TULZB test-site. You can select them from the theme selector at the bottom left of the forum index. |

It looks ok. The forums are mostly empty. There's no CBOX. I think it would be better if guests were allowed to post there. Since it is still a "test area", can we post whatever we want for now as guests there? I mean, if the decision is finally decided that we are to use the test area, then you or any other admin can delete the old spammy posts, right? |

Everything looks so.. big.. and obnoxious. I assume that can be changed, right? And if we do move, all of our posts, post counts, everything, will be moved over too? So is it a convertion, or a relocation? I'm really opposed to the idea of moving, but it might end well, so I have yet to vote. |

It's going to be a conversion. The test board is just for you to look at/comment upon while exactly WHAT it would look like is being worked out. |

Well... if it's a matter of asthetic appeal, I would prefer TUL the way it is. One of the things I liked originally when I saw this site was that it looked... professional, or.... styled. If that's how TULZB would look if we transfered over, I'm not sure how well that will work. I mean, if I were just some guest checking out the site to see if I wanted to join, I'd be at least slightly turned off by the seemingly "generic" layout. So, yeah. Just a thought. Still not sure yet. |

It's not really that big and obnoxious. That's just what it looks like on the Zetaboards Support Forum. Besides, you can easily change the size in the CSS section. |

I only brought it up because it looked annoying. But I also said 'I assume it can be changed?', which is kind of obvious that it can be changed. Invisionfree is all about customization. The default skin for Invision free isn't as big an obnoxious, but it's plan and annoying. |

Edit made to the news post. Be nice to read it. The Merry-go-round now has a corrupted sort of rules! Be sure to read them. |

If the font size looks annoying on this new ZB forum, then I'm pretty sure you can't survive on the ZB support forum: the support forum is identical copy with bubbly words. Speaking of tiny words, you probably write, as well as type, in small lettering too, and your eyes are probably like microscopes. (That's a praise.) |

Most Invisionfree Skins have, by default, larger font. I'd say almost all of the ones on the Invisionfree website contain larger fonts. I'd be suprized if there were more than just a few. It's really easy to change that size by going into the coding for the skin and adjusting it, so there isn't a problem there. Just a few things that need to be played with first. Personally, I can never remember exactly where it is so I end up changing the sizes of a number of things before I get to the acual text size. |
