Westlake's eyebrows shot up, "Rob showed me the list, hell, I helped him put it together. You didn't know you were going? You definitely better sleep then!" |

"Oh, ok ..." Gene wanted to ask why he was chosen, but nothing came out. After all that happened today, he just felt awkward. Besides, he wouldn't want to sound reluctant. He just stood there and gazed past Westlake foolishly. |

"Are you okay?" Westlake asked, concerned. "I mean. If you're afraid, Rob is going, and Alex, and a few of the other officers. So you'll be pretty safe, okay? Don't worry. I know Rob definitely won't let anything happen to you." He petted Gene on the head, coming across as just a tad awkward since the man was taller than he. |

"Nononono I'm not scared!" Gene laughed nervously as Westlake pat him on the head. "I'm glad I'm going. Sitting here stewing in my own thoughts is killing me ..." "Anyway, I should probably stop wasting your time now! Good night!" Gene darted up to his bunk and hid under the covers. There's many officers going. The major himself is going. So what?? Shut up and go to sleep already!!! hahahaha .... |

Abby eventually retired to the Female bunks after wandering around the base for a little. Sleep didnt come easy but once she fell asleep she didnt wake until the morning alarm. She crawled out of bed and made her way to the showers while the line would still be short. |

Gene darted away so quickly, that Westlake wasn't able to properly say goodnight. "Oh, um..." he muttered quietly, suddenly feeling the darkness of the base creeping in around him. He wasn't afraid of the dark, and he wasn't usually so jumpy either, but he was feeling the sudden weight of his alone-ness and still agitated from the events in the cafeteria. He wondered if Carver had gone to bed yet, and the thought made him twitch, and he turned, walking quickly away from the male bunks. He could be in there, right now. He reached the offices in record time, entering swiftly, and making his way to the spare room. The fold-out bed was large, and he shuffled out of his over clothes, dropping them to the floor at the end of the bed. Shivering, he burrowed beneath the blankets, and hoped Rob would show up before sleep did. |

Felix just gave the man a slight shrug, not bothering to answer really, seeing as no one really could know what another thought. After passing the doctor out the door, he gave him one single pat upon the back before departing towards the sleeping quarters. Oh how sleep sounded to pleasant, so sweet to his tired eyes and body. It was hard work doing what he and the other medical staff did. Even if the soldiers didn't really think that way, but without them none of those bone heads would be healthy. His thoughts soon went back to the image of his resting his head upon a pillow, gently holding his head in it's fluffy embrace. Ah yes, what could be more better than that? Well, something more than likely, but not right now though. Eventually the man made it there, taking no time at all to start taking his clothing off for bed. He left his undergarments on of course, sleeping in the nude would just be awful. Well, perhaps in a camp full of people, but none-the-less awful. Who cared, all that mattered was some sleep, especially if one had to get up early. So, he crawled his way into his bed, and snuggled ever so gently into his blanket. In the matter of a couple of minutes, he was out. |

[[ Where are we time-wise? Since everyone else has left by now are we getting in there after everyone is gone or are we pretending I'm not super late?? ]] "I'm from March Town," Emmanuel said. "Nice little house, pre-war though, so we had to do a lot of work on it. Mom, dad, couple of sisters - cuter than me, I've heard." He winked and elbowed Major Rob. "But not a better lay. Or so I've heard." He glanced around and, seeing nobody nearby, put a gentle hand on Rob's bum. "You can see for yourself, later," he whispered, leaning in close to the major's ear. |

[[I'd say this is after Westlake left- just after Carver was terrorizing him- but before Westlake left with Gene. So there would still be people, but they're starting to weed out to bed]] "March Town is nice, I've been. Cuter than you? I don't believe that," Rob muttered, then immediately felt his face flush and choked a little on the 'better lay' remark. "I wouldn't know. Girls aren't really my thing." Rob stole the hand off his rear, lingering a little before letting it go and raised an eyebrow at Manny. "Come on now, I'm not that easy," he remarked, mentally adding Unless I'm drunk, apparently. "You never have sex on the first date. It's a rule." |

Emmanuel grinned at Major Rob's blush. I've got to get him to blush more. He let him remove his hand, but the linger didn't excape his notice. He let his fingers graze Major Rob's palm as he let go and pulled away. "First date?" he repeated as grabbed a tray. He swiftly grabbed some food - the cafeteria workers were starting to look cranky. "I didn't realize this is a date. Are we dating now?" He raised a teasing eyebrow. |

"I guess?" Rob replied. He took a tray of his own, and something that looked suspiciously like roadkill, but was labeled as meatloaf. He hoped it tasted better than it looked. He shrugged, "If you wanna get any sort of repeat of uh, of what happened in the office. We'd have to keep it secret though, since the FWA* isn't exactly accepting. And I'm not in the mood to beat-up my subordinates. Again." He dropped down to a sit at the nearest table. It might have been his imagination, but it looked like the meatloaf moved, like it was alive, so Rob stabbed it through with his fork. "I'm game, if you're, uh. Interested?" He bit his lip, looked over to Emmanuel, wondering if he'd spoken his rant too fast. Wow yeh, wait to go Rob. Rule breakdown. Don't y'know, be romantic or sweet or anything. You sound like a tax accountant, who'd want to date a tax accountant? You didn't even give him flowers-wait, no flowers out here. Shit, could've at least picked a cactus. Suddenly, the probably-dead meatloaf was the most interesting thing at the table, and Rob stared down at it, wondering if the Staffers had a secret storage of real food in the back and they were laughing their asses off at the FWA soldiers eating this... stuff. *FWA = Free World Army |

Not yet accustomed to the shitty food, Emmanuel only took some questionable looking potatoes. "Shame, I was looking forward to getting rough with you," he said. He followed Major Rob to his table and set his tray across from him, but, thinking better of it, pushed it forward and moved to sit beside him. "Still, a secret romance? How charming. You sure know how to woo a girl's heart." He fluttered his eyelashes and emitted the bubbliest giggle he could muster. He poked at his unappetizing potatoes as he thought over the blunt proposal. I don't do the whole dating thing, but fuck if I don't want a piece of this dick. He wondered if the major would even be worth the investment. Now, that Westlake - he had gotten Emmanuel pinned too, could rough him up as much as he wanted, and, from the looks of things, didn't seem to need commitment. "I suppose I could be game," he answered casually. "That is, if you don't mind me stealing bases and we hit home run sooner than later. Also it would be nice if we could see other players occasionally. Or often." He waggled his eyebrows to distract Rob from his idiotic extrapolation of that metaphor. He was biting his lip again, so Emmanuel reached out and smoothed his lip with a thumb. Much more interesting than the gross potatoes. He pulled his hand back slowly, and he let his eyes flit across the thinning groups. Only one person had seen, a private from the looks of her, still staring at them, wide-eyed and mouth agape. He winked at her, made a mental note to hit that later, and the girl looked away quickly, suddenly engrossed with the tray in front of her. He had to try hard not to make a comment about "spectators." |

Rough with- Rob choked on his food for a moment, as the image of stuff flew through his mind and goddamn that would be awesome. He twitched a smile at the baseball metaphor, then sighed lightly as Manny winked at the girl at the other table. It seemed Emmanuel was more interested in a booty call, than any sort of actual relationship, and that was sort of frustrating because Rob was a pure romantic and he wanted a relationship, wanted to be with someone who he could cuddle, and play stupid board games with, and pick a fucking cactus for. Which was goddamn depressing, because he found that he really actually liked Emmanuel. He leaned in close so only Emmanuel could hear, "You'd be surprised the stuff I'm open to. And I love trying new things." He raised an eyebrow, "But I don't want just a booty call, I've already got one." |

Emmanuel suppressed a chuckle when Rob choked. That's not all you'll be gagging on. It seemed promising, especially the small smile, but as soon as he caught the sigh, he knew he had made a Wrong Move. Before he could say anything more, Rob leaned close, and he found that his breath caught in his throat. He didn't expect the major to go to town on his ear or neck right then and there, but hey, the thought occurred. Well, lots of thought occurred to him with Rob in such close proximity. The fact that he apparently already had a booty call, however, was not one of them. He raised his eyebrows at that. Westlake had told him differently. I guess it was too early to trust him. Probably just wanted to make a fool of me to the Major. He pulled away from Major Rob and tapped his fork against his teeth thoughtfully. There were plenty of delectable delicacies he could feast on here; he didn't need this one. Still, after that little event at the office... "You say you're not easy enough to do it on the first date, yet here you are winning me over with promises of 'trying new things,'" he joked. He put his fork down and locked eyes with Rob. "I suppose I could try dating a major, then." Worse comes to worst, he could always dump him. And then maybe have angry break-up sex. Actually, that sounds fantastic. Why didn't I try this dating thing before? |
