Westlake shrugged. He could think of an entire mess hall filled with people who would disagree. He knew Rob would come to his rescue, but he was busy a lot. And he wouldn't bring Felix into a fight, the guy would probably just end up getting his own ass kicked.

"I won't- Wouldn't. I wouldn't, if someone tried to beat me up," he replied, releasing Alexy's wrists. "I don't want anyone to get hurt. Especially not on my behalf."

He sighed, wondering if Alexy had ever been picked on before. Probably not. Ugh, and picked on sounds really lame, like if Delta is a school yard or something. Although, considering some of it's occupants...

"Can we pick this up a little later? I haven't had breakfast yet, and I have some work that I need to at least start on, today."

Westlake gave him a smile, then cast his eyes toward the office as a voice came over the loud speaker, "All people going to the City today, report to the front gate immediately."

Alex was there already, sitting in the driver seat of a transport. It was a huge vehicle, enough room for the participants and whatever they managed to find on their excursion. He hoped everyone would be okay.

He turned back, eyes lingering on Alexy for just a moment, "I'll see you later."

Westlake grabbed his jacket and hung it off his shoulder, then headed toward the infirmary, plotting on different ways to convince Felix to go with him to the mess hall.

Abby heard the loud speaker and ran to grab her things and get to the gate.
All the waiting had made her hungry and she was eager to get going.
She grabbed her bag and raced over to the gate, dodging and weaving her way threw the soldiers who had gathered to see the city crew off.
She threw her bag in and jumped in after it, tucking it under her feet.
"lets go, lets go, lets go" she said excitedly as she patted the worn seats

Once Neena had heard the loud voice over the loud speaker, she as quickly as she could, gathered up some things and made her way to the front gate. There sat a large transport vehicle, plenty of room for the passengers and other things they'd pick up in the city. Already in the vehicle, was the red head she had seen running around the base many times already. She was so, how could it be put, energetic really. It was quite interesting to say the least, but she seemed well enough anyway. So the native woman climbed into the vehicle as well, sitting rather close to the very excited girl. "You uh.." she paused for a moment, "sound rather excited for this."

------------------------------------------

While everyone else was at the mess hall already, Felix was alone within the infirmary, just chilling out on one of the cots. The man was sitting for just a moment, before he laid himself down on his side. After that, he sprawled out onto his back. He was hungry, but could never gather up the want to go into the mess hall. All that nasty food really didn't fancy the man, though it was for nourishment. Screw nourishment right? He always had snacks on hand if he needed anything, whether it was good for him or not. Definitely better than what they usually cooked in the mess hall.

Westlake entered the Infirmary soundless, spotting Felix almost immediately laying down on a cot. He sneaked over, deciding to start with the most direct approach, and flopped forward across Felix's chest like a sooky cat.

"Come have breakfast with me in the Mess Hall," West demanded. He leaned his head sideways, giving Felix a teasing grin, "I'm your boss, so you have to do as I say. And if you don't come with me, then I'll stay here and rant at you all afternoon, bad poetry about how much I am totally in love with Alexy."

Gene got up from the ground and stumbled toward the gate automatically as he heard the announcement. Haha stop pretending already, you're fricking awake, ok??? He took a seat at the corner of the vehicle away from the two passengers simply out of habit.

Just more people, I know. But potentially friends, right? Maybe? Or something ... Westlake's words from last night drifted through the back of his mind as tears began to well up in his eyes. So people know. And they care. I can't blame anyone. Hell, the new people are making friends with each other already, and

Goddamnit Gene, why the hell do you care so much?!

Well what can I do; get a lobotomy??

He gave a painful giggle as he realize he'd lost track of his thoughts again. "I can't do it ..." he squealed, barely audible as he buried his face in the seat in front, chuckling again at how clichéd the statement is. He didn't mean it, of course, but he doesn't know what he means anymore.

I hope I die in the city.

Felix hadn't heard the door to the infirmary open, which would have probably told him that someone had just walked in. It wasn't untill Westlake was over his chest that he knew and let out a light grunt because of it. "But Weeeeeeeestlaaaaaake," he pouted like a child, "you know I don't like to eat that stuff.. I don't the rats like to either." The man sighed heavily to himself, really, really not wanting to go. Yet, just the mention of having to listen to Westlake rant and recite bad poetry of how much he was in love was Alexy.. make him change his mind rather quick.

He took in a deep breath of air, almost sounding like a loud wheeze, but just for dramatic effect. "If eating breakfast in the mess hall with you is going to keep me from hearing you're love poems.. then I much rather take the potential food poisoning thank you," Felix had let out a whine in defeat. Now, Westlake just needed to get off of him.

Abby calmed down when a dark girl climbed in the vehicle. It was the girl she had helped out during the paintball game.
Unsure of her name, she smiled and stretched her legs out in front of her.

"I don't like being caged up" Abby said quietly.

She knew that there was reasons that had to stay inside the base, it was dangerous outside, but she missed being able to run and scavenge.
She had grown up learning that everything was good for something, and she could repair most broken things she found.

She knew how to survive on her own, and having everything given to her felt strange. As much as she loved feeling like she made a difference, the fences made her feel trapped and the people worried her. War had changed them.

"I'm almost disappointed," Westlake pouted, standing up straight. "I might read you my poetry anyways." He headed over toward the door, to wait for Felix to be ready to go.

And a smile spread across his face. "Oh! Look, look at this!" He pulled the G17 out of his pocket, holding it out the way Alexy did when he first showed him, "Alexy gave it to me, to keep!"

Felix groaned a little as he himself sat up upon the cot, only to watch as Westlake headed on over towards the door. He wasn't going to enjoy being in the mess hall, crowded with meat heads and horrible food. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad this time. No, wait, it was always bad. How could he even think a think like the food being good for a change? How stupid of you Felix, you dingus. "Look at what?" he raised a brow and just when Westlake pulled out the gun, Felix almost fell off the cot. He most definitely did not expect Westlake to pull out a gun, geez.

"I hope that's got the safety on," he chuckled nervously, "why would he give it to you to keep anyway? Gift of love?" The man got up off the cot and walked over to the other man, giving him a teasing nudge.

----------------------------------------------------------

"Caged up?" she said curiously, "you mean, like with the fence and such?" Neena herself had to admit, it was rather different to have a fence surrounding a place. Nothing that was open for any exploration but just a bunch of sand and desert beyond that gate. Though, she presumed it was to keep them as safe as possible, considering the kind of people they may wonder about the desert.

The young woman pulled a leg up against her chest, her arms wrapping around it as he head laied upon her knee. "Well, today you'll be able to explore about freely," she spoke softly.

"Of course the safety is on," Westlake tsked, coddling the G17 for a moment before put it back in his pocket. "I dunno why. But he did, and it's mine." He squinted for a moment, biting his lip- an awful habit he'd picked up from Rob, "You really think it could be a gift of love?" To be honest, the thought hadn't occurred to him. It made him smile. "He was very sweet, and he taught me how to shoot, and some fighting stuff. And we're going to do it again, this afternoon. But I have all the paperwork for the city stuff to deal with first. Stupid paperwork."

---

Lieutenant Ben Weaver had been to the city before. Several times. His father was not terribly pleased when he got assigned to Delta a year and a half ago, and immediately insisted that Ben go to the city as much as possible. The amount of experience gained, and consistently doing well in the adversity of dealing with the hooligans that occupied the decrepit metropolis would push Ben up through the ranks, and hopefully land him at Charlie Base, where his Father thought he belonged. His father ran Charlie Base, but Ben wanted to do better, prove that he can be better even than his father, and serve at the inner circle of Alpha. For this reason (and unbeknownst to his father), he had volunteered to go to Delta.

But for now...

He stepped into the transport, not looking at any of the other passengers, and chose a seat near the front. He shrugged off his pack, sliding it under his seat and sat, staring out the window.

Felix shrugged his shoulders for just a moment, a light smirk upon his lips as he did. "I don't know if it could be a gift of love," he said, "but it's nice that he did give it to you and even showed you how to shoot it. I don't think I could ever hold a gun, let alone fire one either. Might end up shooting my own foot." The man began to laugh at himself, though honestly it just might happen if he was ever allowed to shoot a gun.

The man sighed softly to himself, opening the door in front of them so they could begin their trip towards the mess hall. "If you need me to, I could give you a hand with the paperwork, so you could get to lesson of yours earlier," he awaited Westlake to walk through the door before closing it behind him.

-----------------------------

As Neena waited for the other female to speak, she couldn't help notice someone else getting into the transport vehicle. She recognized him, but only because the doctor had pointed him out as being afraid of needles. Just thinking about it caused the slightest chuckle to come from the young girl.

"That would actually be awesome," Westlake said, staring at Felix with big shiny eyes. "But it's my work, and I couldn't ask you to do it for me, you have enough stuff to do on your own. And we still need to clean the infirmary. So many people in and out today, we're going to be finding dust for the next three weeks. But it's okay, I can continue with him tomorrow. And I wanted to get some time in at the firing range on my own. Cause maybe I could get really good and impress him tomorrow."

He stepped through the door, closed it, and started to head over to the Mess Hall. "Guns and fighting, it's so violent though. Why can't he love cactus like Rob, or something? And you can't shoot yourself, because you have the safety on all the time. If you want, when I learn, I could teach you stuff too?"

---

Ben heard the chuckle, and casually looked over to see the source as a native girl looking in his direction. He raised an eyebrow in confusion and turned back to look out the window. One of the recruits. The hell does she find so funny? He mused for a moment that he may have something stuck in his teeth and then felt stupid as he realized he hadn't even had breakfast yet. He crossed him arms and pouted, focusing harder on the gate outside.

Before Emmanuel could say something snarky about Rob being his hero, Rob's arms were around his neck and they were kissing. It wasn't as beautifully intense as when he'd been thrown against the filing cabinet, but it had a lot more passion that the little peck he had gotten before, and it was decidedly welcome. His hands moved to Rob's hips, intent on sliding their way over to his butt. He breathed through his nose and gave a pleased hum at the little nip at his ear.

"I'm glad you like me," he teased.

His head jerked up automatically at the sound of the announcement. His insides deflated at the reminder of the the city. No matter what Rob promised him, the dread probably wouldn't go away until they were back from the city.

"Well, we'd better go," he said quietly. He pulled his hands off of Major Rob and instead shoved one in his pocked and held the other arm out to him.
You can always count on a murderer for a fancy prose style.
