Rob shook his head, "I don't hear anything," he muttered quietly. They had waited long enough, too long really, and they needed to do this run and get out. The longer they stayed, the more chance of something bad happening. "Let's go," he muttered, emphasizing, "Quietly." Rob led, with Ben taking up the rear, and they pushed open the front door of the hospital. It opened to a large foyer, littered with papers and rubble. There was a hallway to the left, and a series of doors along it. Once everyone was in, Rob motioned for them to STAY PUT, and then unholstered his gun. Alone but in plain view of everyone else, he opened the closest door down the hall. No people. Some sort of office room. He cleared the next room as well- just a bathroom- and the third was a medical exam room. He waved a hand to Ben. "We're breaking into two groups. But we're still going to stick close to each other- Manny, Neena, you're with me," Ben instructed in a voice that demanded compliance, "Abby, Gene, go with Rob." Ben headed toward the office room, making sure the others followed. While Rob led his group into the medical exam room. --- Westlake was intensely grateful for Felix's sudden appearance, and released a breath he didn't realize he had been holding. "It's nothing, there was an accident. But since you're here, I could use some help. Can you grab me the paperwork for E-17?" -He paused to look at Alexy, "Base-related accidental injury, needing further care, that is, needing to be sent to town." -And then looked back to Felix, "And then prep needle and thread? After I deal with Alexy's injuries, I can do my own. I won't keep you up." He took a antiseptic wipe, and moving in front of Alexy, used one hand to tip his head back and the other to gently clean the blood off. "Stitches, three, maybe four." He took a tube of gel and squished some out onto his fingers then rubbed some on and around the wound, "It'll make it go numb. Here, close your eyes, you probably don't want to see this part." A woozy feeling came over Wes and he shook his head again, to focus, and then stitched Alexy's face, four butterfly stitches, neat and small, barely noticeable, "It's going to leave a scar, but just a little one." He paused with a sigh, feeling terribly guilty, now there was an actual phsyical permenant mark Alexy had to deal with, and it was all West's fault. Westlake rubbed a hand over his eyes, then down across his face, hand coming in contact with blood. Ah. I should've used more gauze. He took a step away from Alexy, toward Felix, "Felix, do you have the needle? I need to-" and that's as far as he got, words fading away as darkness faded in with a sudden string of dizziness, and West dropped to the floor unconscious, like a discarded sack of potatoes. Emmanuel exhaled heavily through his nose in relief. With Rob at the point at the group, he fell away from him. There is no way I'm going to be one of the first ones in. Instead, he walked closer to Gene. He was hyper-aware of every step he took, trying his best to follow the Major's instructions to be quiet. The interior of the hospital was not destroyed at Emmanuel had expected. Although rubble was strewed across the floor and reception desks, which he carefully avoided stepping on, doors remained on their hinges and the tiled floor was dirty but uncracked. While the Major surveyed the area, he picked up a paper off the floor, the sheet making the barest of whispers, and skimmed it. Smudged ink detailed some information of a pregnancy years and years ago, and he let the paper fall back down. I wonder how long it took to take down this hospital. He looked up in slight alarm at the team assignments. He was being separated from both Rob and Gene. His fingers immediately went to his pocket, feeling the outline of the whistle against the fabric. Calm down, he said the groups are sticking close to each other. He breathed in deeply and went with Weaver and Neena into the office. He wanted to ask what exactly they were looking for (paperweights? staplers?), but was worried that if he opened his mouth, he'd speak too loudly. |

"Alright," Ben said, once they were inside the office room, "Get searching. Tell me if you find anything. I mean anything at all, especially if it still works. Because usually it's broken stuff and rubble. Books, would be good. If you find a needle or a green powder, don't touch it. I emphasize- don't touch it." He went for the wall, where a picture still hung, covered in graffiti, and his boots crunch on glass. "You'd have learned this at the outpost, but let me refresh you- colored powders, especially green and yellow, are Nixicide and Oxiturtulane- street names Nix and Turtle. They work on contact, they're addictive, and they make you hallucinate." He took the picture off the wall, gingerly as to not cut his hands, to reveal a small compartment with a safe bolted in. "Bingo." Ben pulled a screwdriver out of his belt and began removing the safe from the wall. |

"Erhhhhhhhh ... my stomach huuuurts ..." Josie groaned drowsily as she tossed and turned in her bunk. She wouldn't be surprised if it's something in the food; honestly, what is that stuff anyways?? The disturbance was loud enough to earn several annoyed gazes. "Oh my god, quit your whining already!" Elaine jabbed playfully, "But seriously hun, if you're not feeling well, I'll take you to the infirmary." Frankly, Josie was a bit hesitant to go outside. She heard yelling and gunshots not much earlier and the late night was making her just a little paranoid. But the Sergeant seems rather insistent, not that she'd like to keep annoying everyone with her whining. They were not expecting what they saw as they entered the infirmary. All Josie could do was stare at the hole in Carver's foot, while Elaine turned to Felix. "Is he ... ok?" she managed while eyeing the collapsed figure of Westlake on the floor. --- Gene kept his mouth shut as the group entered the alley, and then the hospital. Well later then, Emmanuel he thought as the group split. It wasn't like they could talk or anything right now. He followed Rob and Abby unceremoniously into the medical room. |

Felix was sure it probably wasn't nothing, seeing as he was injured as well as Alexy and Carver. He knew how much Westlake did not like Carver at all, and Carver didn't like civilians that worked on the base. Westlake wouldn't hurt a fly though, so everything was more than likely rotated around Carver's stupid ass. Though, he didn't quite know how Alexy fell into all of it, but surely there was a reason for that. "Yeah I can do that," he said, walking over towards one of the filing cabinets that sat in the infirmary. He shuffled around the papers a bit, before found the one he was told to retrieve. Just to make sure, he read them over a little, yep, just the ones. "Ok, I got the paperwork," he gave them a slight wave, "I'll set them on the desk for now, till you are done." Felix gave a light smile before heading towards the desk, setting the needed paperwork down. Then, he went ahead and started to prep the needle and thread as instructed. He really didn't mind doing this, it was part of his job, being a nurse meant he did as the doctor said. Any other doctor he might have hated it, but Westlake was probably the best one he'd worked with. He wasn't so serious all the time, and he loved that for sure. "Yeah I've got the needle all re-" before he could finish, all he heard was West fall down onto the floor. To say the least, Felix almost started to panic about it. He had kept his cool though, for the most part. "Wes?" he said, repeating a couple of time, "Oh shit, shit, shit." As he leaned down to inspect the man, someone else had made their way into the infirmary as well, a woman at that. He wasn't sure how to answer her question, not at all, for he didn't quite know if he was ok either. He just needed to get him onto one of the beds and quite. Looked like he was going to have to tend to West. Felix looked over to Alexy as he picked Westlake's head from off the floor. "I need a hand, please?" -------------------------------------------- Neena followed in line with everyone else, eyes peering about at everything around them. Papers everywhere, she was surprised some of them looked rather legible, while others were tattered and the ink ran, smeared. At the mention of groups her head popped up curiously. Who were the groups going to consist of? Hopefully they'd be separated well. Wait, she had to go with Ben? That was interesting, especially since he was the one that made the teams as well. Oh well, that didn't matter much, there was also Manny too. She wasn't sure what to think about him yet. The girl let out a soft sigh as she then followed Ben, close of course, as to not knowing the kind of things to find here. All she had seen so far were a few bugs here and there, but that was about it when it came to living creatures. "Hmm?" she looked at Ben, "alright sure." She said turning away from him so she may get looking for things. The girl looked around chairs, in compartments in the desks, but wasn't finding much but office papers, files and the like. She had found a book, stashed away under one of the desks. 'To Kill A Mockingbird' the title read, only causing her to wonder what the book was about. Hopefully nothing about actually KILLING a bird. "Yeah, Yeah, I know," she said to his lecture of two certain drug powders. She already knew about them, though she didn't much mind a recap. |

Abby followed Major Rob into the Medical exam room.. Cabinets that would have contained medicines and needles where missing hinges and everything they contained was gone. Abby grabbed a small box that once contained boxes of Morphine tablets and placed it on the sink. She hurried to work, opening draws checking cabinets. She opened the draw of a desk in the corner that had been untouched by the graffiti and destruction that rest of the room had came to endure. Mostly paperwork, but after pulling it out further she found two boxes. One, Ibuprofen and the second, Morphine. "Major" She called out quietly, Waiting for his attention then throwing him the boxes. They weren't much, but things where hard to come by. After skimming through some of the paperwork she realized that this Dr had specialized in Narcotic Addictions. She grabbed out a small book from the bottom and her hand hit something cold. Abby pulled all the paperwork out and placed it neatly on the desk, with the book on top. She looked down into the draw and realized she had hit her hand on a small padlock that locked the floor of the draw to its wall. "Um... Major? Do we have bolt cutters?" |

Rob caught the boxes, about to chide Abby for throwing around potentially sensitive materials, then he saw what was in the box and a little smile hit his face, "Morphine. Nice find." He was rifling through a trolly filled with pill bottles. Mostly empty, but he wanted to check each one to make sure that they were all empty. Six of the bottles had a few tablets in them, and Rob read the inscriptions but had no idea what they actually were, they may as well be written in latin. He shoved them into his pockets. "Bolt cutters?" he asked, heading over to her, "No. What did you find?" |

"There is a padlock in here locking the false floor to the wall of the draw" she said quietly as she pulled the metal draw all the way out and into the desk. Normally she would have easily broken the draw, but it was metal. As she tilted the draw up slowly to look for a key, she heard the the sound of two glass bottles clinking and things felt things sliding around. "I bet there is needles and probably strong drugs used for treating Nix and Turtle." Since Abby had grown up on the streets, she had often encountered Nix and Turtle users. 40 year old men sitting on the door step blubbering like a 2 year old and chasing things that weren't there. Nobody knew how Nix and Turtle had found there way to the town, but it riddled the portion of the community that had lost there homes and family during the war, Targeting those so distraught that they wanted nothing more to forget. |

"Mmm, lemme see," Rob muttered, nudging Abby out of the way. He pulled a pair of pins from his pocket, and moved in close to the padlock, picking the lock with practiced ease. Because there was something terribly lovely in growing up in a poor household, at least in the sense that Rob had managed to acquire a litany of questionable skills. The padlock clicked open on the first try, and he pulled it off, then backed away. "Open it up then, let's see what's inside." |

"Well that's one skill I never actually practiced.... I fit though windows" Abby said pouting cutely. Lock picking was probably something she should have learned, but she never bothered since she was better at sneaking. Abby gently pulled open the false bottom. She was right, there was a few sealed needles, 2 glass bottles of a liquid drug and a broken vial of green powder. Abigail frowned. She had seen that they shit did to people, she wasn't touching anything in that draw without 2 layers of gloves and something to wash the powder off with. |

"So do I," Rob quipped. It wasn't like it was a secret, but besides Manny, Rob was the smallest male on the base. And totally wearing gloves. He picked up the needles and vials of liquid, thankfully the power didn't stick to them, so they were safe to carry, none the less, he sealed them into a ziplock bag. Because you can't be too certain. He passed the bag to Abby, "Here, you carry it. It's your find, just make sure the vials don't get broken." |

"I'll help you." Elaine replied automatically, lifting the doctor on his shoulder. "Where should we put him?" Josie was still drowsy from her erratic sleep she got during the night thanks to her nausea, but even she could see there's more urgent matters at hand. This time, she chose to stay out of the way. She slumped against the wall in the fetal position, still whining in pain. She hardly has the energy to do anything. --- Gene was collecting everything that was in decent condition, even paperwork, as he wandered around the room. He was always nervous at scavenging trips, it seems his judgment of what to take was never on the mark. No big deal. He could carry lots. He could carry everyone else's findings if they wanted him to. They can't blame him. Besides, someone's gotta make use of all this perfectly useful stuff. Even if the use isn't apparent. |

Alexy was touching his new scar scar when Wes Passed out, "heh don't worry about it, I'm used to scars..." He lept to his feet when Felix asked him to, nodding and Leaning down to Inspect him, "Poor Man's exhausted, Just Stitch him up, and i'll take him to bed." he motioned for Josie to place him on a bed, Putting a hand to his neck, counting Wes's pulse. --- Kida watched from a respectable distance as the group disembarked and moved into a building, she shivered a little and lent her spear against a wall lifting her bag off and dropping to one knee and searching her bag for her shoulder cape, shrugging it on and tying the leather straps, ducking down and putting her bag back on, Kida shook off some cold and drew her cape around her. |

[It's Elaine xDDDD] "... weeeell, looks like you've got everything under control then," Elaine remarked a while after laying the doctor down. She bid farewell and took her leave. "eeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrh ... waaaaaaaait ......." Josie groaned pathetically and reached out in a ridiculously melodramatic manner, only to double over chuckling at her own ridiculousness. |

Felix looked over towards Elaine, whom was lifting the poor doctor onto their shoulder. "Just put them on the bed over .. there," his attention went towards Alexy next, who motioned to Elaine where to put him. Just stitching him and putting him to bed probably wasn't the best course of action. West would probably need to spend the night in the infirmary, probably on an IV to help him. "No, he's better off not moved from here," he said as he stood up, making his way towards the doctor, "I don't want to risk something happening while away from here, you know?" Felix bit down onto his lip for a moment, he'd would need to stitch him up first before anything. It was a good thing that he had the needs and thread already prepared for Westlake before he passed out onto the floor. He'll just use that, since it was it's intended use in the first place. He quickly ran over where he left the needle and tread, taking not time in grabbing it and taking it back over to him. Now that he had that, he just need to clean the area before working on it, disinfect the area as well. Probably use some alcohol on that, good thing that man was already passed out because that is going to sting. "You know," he said, flopping back onto a rolling stool, "you're more than welcome to stay the night here if you like. It'd just be me, you, West, and that big meat head over there." Felix motioned over to Carver in the bed farthest away. "Uh," he furrowed his brows, "I don't want to seem like I'm taking advantage of you but... could you go grab a cloth and a bottle of rubbing alcohol? I just need to clean this up before stitching it, you'll find everything in that cabinet over there." Felix pointed to where he mentioned. With only one professional around here now, he needed an extra hand while he set up the IV real quick. So that could be good and ready for when the stitching was done. "Is there a reason you're here, by the way?" he looked over to Josie as he worked on setting up the IV. |
