Westlake stared at the gun for a moment, then looked up to Alexy, "I can stay calm," he replied quietly. Handle the gun, shoot a living person, he didn't know if he could do that part. But stay calm? Sure.

The fray outside seemed intense, the infirmary definitely was surrounded, and Wes wondered how long it would be until somebody tried to come inside. He couldn't imagine going out there, on purpose and he almost flinched as he watched Alexy looking out the door. The Russian seemed so calm, Is it a mask? Is he scared? Because he could get killed. The next time Wes sees him, Alexy could be cold and bloody with a bayonette sticking out of his chest.

"Alexy-," West started, then paused. Alexy what? I love you? That would probably get the man killed, and he needs to focus on stuff. He wanted to rush forward and hug him or something, and reeally, he should have more confidence in the Russian, because Alexy is super manly and badass. The words as they came, were rushed and rambly, and not how he intended them at all, "Be careful? I mean. Really, really careful. Don't die? Please don't die?"

Felix gave a light nod of his head and did as West instructed him, making his way away from the window. It was probably for the best really, for both matters of not being seen and not seeing what was going on outside. Nothing like this ever happened at the other base he was stationed at before coming to Delta. Yet, he didn't regret coming here for many a reason, one of them being West. He was like family to him and in the situation, anything could happen.

Wait? So West had given the gun to Alexy? Was that a good thing or a bad thing? He could only imagine such being a bad thing, though thankfully West had the gun yet again. It gave some sort of safe feeling, but not even to make him any the more comfortable than what he was.

All the people in there now had to rely on West at the moment. Could West pull the trigger on another man? In all honestly, it was probably best that he could, if not they were all screwed. The words that came out of West's mouth, were caring. He really did like Alexy didn't he? It was a horrible shame the feelings were only a one way thing for poor West.

"Should we.. turn on the lights in here?" Felix inquired. It couldn't just be peering out the window that was dangerous, just the lights could draw them in like months to a flame. He was surprised no one had come in yet at this point. Even just for the medical supplies inside, how could they miss out?

They certainly weren't going to miss out on that, Gavin had his eyes on the place the whole time, seeing the insides clearly. That was certainly the medical building yes? Full of anything from vaccines to band-aids more than likely. Supplies like those were limited in the city, seeing as they were either taken already or destroyed and damaged. No use in even trying to find medical supplies in the city these days, food was also pretty scarce as well. It was a wonder anyone there could survive.

As Lucas lazily packed his trunk with what little belongings he had kept once joining the army, He heard the Major arranging the loading of the transport and making last minute decisions to the which 3 privates would be sent to Delta with Lucas.
Looks like we'll be setting off early tomorrow he thought to himself.

...

Elaine woke to the sound of gunfire. The female bunks were near empty as not many female soldiers lived at Delta. She quietly moved around and woke those who were still sleeping and gathered everyone together. "Stay in here, keep low and keep quiet" she whispered.

Alexy rolled his shoulder and nodded, "Da, Don't worry." He said patting west on the shoulder, glancing to the other soldier in the room, "You, girl, take cover here, If Wes doesn't shoot, tackle your assailant and disarm them, Da?" He doesn't wait for a reply and slips out the door, Ducking beneath the window and moving towards the male barracks.

West gave Alexy a smile that looked more like a grimace, and then watched him go, wondering if it would be the last time he'd see him alive.

He eyed the gun for a moment, experimentally reaching out to touch it and noticed his hand was shaking. To cover, he flailed his hand upward and ran it through his hair, "Right then," he said quietly, "What should we do fir-"

A stray bullet pierced a hole through the window, smashing the desk lamp next to Felix, and West startled back. "Right, right," he stated quickly, "Away from the windows, away from the doors, back over here." He motioned toward the beds near the back of the room where there were no windows. "Felix, wheelie Carver's bed over that way, so he doesn't get shot. Again."

Westlake stared at the gun for a second, hesitant. Holding it doesn't mean having to shoot it, right? and then he quickly grabbed it, shivering at the feel of the cold steel, and shoved it into his pocket. Just don't think about it.

Josie managed a quick nod as the corporal slipped out of the room. She froze for a while as the bullet shot through the window, then peeked back out and gave a stinkeye to the direction it came from. There's so many of them ... She turned back to the doctor and the nurse, who seem no more confident that she is. She managed a grin and a thumbs-up. "We can do this guys!" she whispered, though in truth she wasn't so sure herself.

Felix almost jumped back against a wall as that stray bullet hit the lamp next to him, good thing he didn't shit his pants as well. That certainly would have been really embarrassing but who wouldn't have in the first place? It wasn't every day that a bullet came to close to hitting him, hell, he was sure he would never see combat in the first place. This wasn't what he signed on with the FWA for, he signed up to heal not piss his pants with fear. He had gotten up to do as West instructed though, quickly making his way over to Carver's bed. "Let's get rolling big guy," with that he pushed the bed towards the way he was told, leaving the big asshole there so he wouldn't end up getting shot in a more fatal way.

Just the screams and sounds of guns and the like caused his heart to pound in his chest. How could anyone be calm at a time like this? He didn't understand how Alexy would be that way either, though, he probably had seen a lot of stuff like this. With eyes full of fear, Felix glanced over towards the window, only to see a face peering through. Quickly he turned his gaze, only to go back, no one was there. That had to be the scariest thing, and a very good reason why. "I don't know how safe it's going to stay in here," he spoke mostly to himself. What a great way to reassure yourself things would be fine, by practically saying they weren't going to be.

Gavin on the other hand, like most of his gang, was as cool as a cucumber. Even taking a few lives himself just for the hell of it. What fun was it to stay standing around just watching? No fun at all really, but it was something that he did indeed need to do. Most of these men were completely stupid, couldn't go a minute without an order as to do so much as scratch their asses. "You two, I want you to go see who's hanging out in the infirmary," he grinned to himself, "maybe go in a say.. hello?" With that said, the two slowly made their way. This was surely going to be interesting.

"Safer in here than out there," West muttered, heading toward the nurse, "But not if you don't stay away from the windows or the next bullet could be your head instead of a lamp-"

The door swung open, and two large burly men entered. Felix was off to the side so they didn't spot him right off, but West stood in the middle of the floor. He paled, stumbled backwards, immediately recognizing the men as people he didn't recognize.

"Um, hi, um," he stuttered, mind racing as he tried to think of what to do. "Now see," he rambled quickly, "If I knew you were coming, I'd have whipped up a benzodiazepine cocktail and put it on my desk for you." Benzodiazepine was a sedative, and he did have a needle of it on his desk, that he had planned to administer to Carver sometime earlier before he'd passed out, and he hoped that Felix would get the message, because both of the scary men were barreling down toward West and he was about on the verge of a panic attack. His legs hit the edge of Felix's desk and he was reminded of the gun in his pocket.

After a moment hesitation, he pulled it out, lifted it. His eyes closed involuntarily as he pulled the trigger. No bang. His eyes flew open and SHIT SHIT SHIT the safety was on. He flicked the safety off, then brought the gun forward just as the man reached him. The man's hand squeezed around Westlake's neck as the barrel of the gun pressed against his forehead.

There was a tremendous bang, though Westlake didn't even recall pulling the trigger. Blood and brain flew backward and forward from the man's face and head, splattering onto Westlake's face and upper chest, and spraying the floor behind the man. The man and Wes both fell to the ground, in opposite directions.

West shuffled backwards, away from the man, until his back pressed hard against Felix's desk.

He stared at the body, couldn't take his eyes off of it, and released a breath he didn't realize he had been holding. "I... I forgot to steady myself," he mumbled, to the partially-headless corpse.

Felix gave a light shake of his head, even if they were to stay away from the windows, how long would it be until someone had made their way through the door? It could only be a matter of time before there was someone coming through, more than likely someone not wanted. That is certainly what happened as the door swung open with a couple of unfamiliar men walking through. There was no doubt in Felix's mind that they didn't belong here on the base. No, they had to be a part of the gang attacking them, but he was yet to be seen.

Of course it was West they saw first, seeing as how he was in direct line of sight around the door. Then West had began to talk to the men, but why? Nothing he said seemed to make sense, at least at that moment the words came from his mouth. It wasn't much long that what he said quickly became clear in his head. The Benzodiazepine that West had gotten ready to give Carver earlier, but never had the chance. How could he have been so stupid as to not had gotten that right away. Just before Felix could even sneak his way to the desk, there was the sound of gunshot which quickly jerked his head in the direction of the sound.

On the ground lay one of the men, brain blown out of the back of their skull, brain matter and blood splattered and pooled around the head. On the other side was West, whom had fallen back as well after the event. It was gruesome and he honestly wanted to throw up right there. This was the first time he'd seen something like that, and it was disgusting to say the least. Even the other gang member stood there in shock, but he shook his head and quickly went after the doctor.

Felix needed to pull it together and that he did, rushing over to West's desk and collecting the needle. With a quick movement, just before the gang member made it to West, he plunged the needle into the man's arm, injecting it's contents into him. It wasn't too long that it took effect, which was nice, because the man's attention had gone onto Felix after such a stunt; and the man came tumbling onto the floor. "W.. west, are you ok?" he inquired the other.

[[nikki! such glorious post! <3]]

Westlake didn't even see the other man fall at first, his vision tunneled, so focused on the man already on the floor. The man who he had-

Wes shook his head and relaxed his posture, then flinch away as his hand touched the cold steel of the gun that lay discarded next to him.

"I..." West muttered out, "I-I'm fine." And then he stumbled sideways and threw-up in the garbage can.

((oh shhh it's not that great XP!))

Felix watched Westlake as he stumbled sideways to the garbage can, throwing up in the receptacle as he wish he could do right now. What good was that anyway? It would just make the man feel worse, even considering that he hadn't really eaten either. He knew that West wasn't ok, though, not the throwing up that made him think so, but no one who did as West did would feel well after such a thing. Blowing someone's head off took someone that was more use to it, not someone who spent his life putting people back together.

"You should lay down for a moment West," he told the man, who probably needed it right now. Just before he even could, if he decided to, another man came into the infirmary. He was a taller gentleman, scars scattered all on his body and one in the shape of an x upon his face. Was he perhaps, their leader? Felix could not tell just by his look, but he wasn't doing as much as the others, perhaps he was.

Gavin looked on the floor below, one body with only part of a head, and other passed out with needle in his arm. He knew he shouldn't have sent them, if you wanted something done right, you were better off doing it yourself. The man showed no emotion for the two, he couldn't have cared even the slightest if both were killed. "Who here is of medial profession?" he asked, monotone in voice, face just as unemotional as his voice was.

Westlake stood, using the wall for support, and wiped his mouth, then the sweat and blood off his face, staining his palm dark pink. He brought his hand down and tried to wipe the color away on his pants. He only about half-registered that Felix was speaking to him, and then suddenly there was a man standing in the doorway. Despite the scars, he was uniquely handsome, or perhaps that was because of the scars, West wasn't certain, but his mind was scrabbling to find something else to focus on than the headless man.

His brain leaped at the words Medical profession, yes yes, this was something he could deal with. It never even occurred to him that the man might have nefarious purposes, just that here, here was an opportunity to begin to redeem his dreadful act.

"Are you injured?" he asked, pushing away from the wall, and unsteadily placing himself between the man and Felix.

Alexy seemed to have been uncontested apart from the odd bullet flying past him, they didn't phase him though. He made it to the dorms and Combat rolled through the doorway, across the floor and to his bunk, grabbing his shotgun, He Looked around And saw two men Rifling through a footlocker, One turned to face his direction, reaching for his rifle and slowly advancing down the rows of bunks, Alexy Lay low, Waiting for the man to draw close, he grasped his Weapon in such a way the the butt of his shotgun became a dangerous blunt weapon.

As the man drew close Alexy jumped up and brought the butt of his gun up and across the mans jaw, with a Sickening Crack, something in that mans face broke, and he fell to the floor Broken and unconscious, He quickly turned his attention to the second man, Who Only now was Stopping his looting in favor of you know, covering his Buddy, Alexy fired the shotgun down the Hall The man Knocked off his feet, his clothes ripped to bloody shreds as the shells contents Shredded his clothing and flesh, Alexy Pumped the shotgun, 'That'll draw some attention, Better get moving,' he said to himself as the shell dropped to the floor, He grabbed his gear and shrugged on the vest, grabbing his trench shovel and hooking it to his belt, He pulled a shell out of his Pouch and loaded it into the Chamber.

Need to get back to the medbay
And soon, who knows What kind of trouble Will happen if these guys figure out that the Medical room has two soldier, one of which is Unconscious and two doctors in there.
He nodded and crept back over to the door, just as two others burst in down the other end of the room, they sprayed their rifles down the dorm, and Alexy Nimbly dodged out of the way, but not before getting hit in the Shoulder, His jacket took most of it, but there was blood leaking from his new wound, He grit his teeth and Made a Quick dash across the base from cover to cover, Avoiding the two that were following him and trying to get back to the medical bay...

As much as she hoped otherwise, the appearance of two of the invaders froze Josie on the spot. She jumped a little as Doctor West pulled the trigger on the first, but was relieved as the nurse took down the other just in time. Despite two unconscious bodies laying in front of her the first time, one of which was rather gruesome, she beamed happily at the others. "That was awesome!" she whispered.

Until a sudden wave of nausea washed over her as the doctor threw up in the bin. It was worse than last night. She held back a groan as she squinted queasily at the demolished cranium of the first intruder.

Her eyes darted to another man with a scarred face entering the room, inquiring flatly about the presence of medical personnel. For a while there it almost felt like the most natural thing ever as Doctor West got up and offered his assistance, but Josie suddenly found herself darting forth to the man. "'Cos unfortunatelyyyy ... there's no medical professionals here! They're all off to the city!" Josie exclaimed before he could answer. Hopefully that was convincing. Even though the doctor and the nurse are sporting medical gear. And they're here alone with an unconscious soldier for no apparent reason.

Gavin didn't even have a chance to speak as the woman in the room spoke up, which was probably the worst thing she could do at that time. Did she believe he was a complete moron or that he wouldn't notice the clothes that they wore? Either way it flared up some anger in the larger man as he reached towards her, grabbing a good chunk of her hair. Forcefully he pulled her head back, one of his legs coming up slightly to keep her from falling to the ground. "I'm sorry, I wasn't talking to you now was I?" he practically growled in the woman's ear, "you'd best old your tongue or you might lost it." With that, he let go of her, allowing her to fall back onto the hard floor.

"You two are coming with me, and I'm not going to take any no's," this time he reached for West and Felix, forcing them to walk out the door of the infirmary with him. Then he made moved them to where the vehicles were, if anything there was no way they'd make it out of there on foot. The best choice in this was to get going by vehicle.

"ROUND IT UP BOYS!" he shouted, "we're out of here." Suddenly many of them stopped what they were doing to follow quickly behind. It wasn't too long that a vehicle was located, large enough to transport them and the their cargo back to the city. Each loaded in, a couple in the front, but only one to drive. The last to get in was Gavin, whom promptly shoved the two into the bad before he himself hopped in. As suddenly as they came, they were gone, off into the night of the dessert. Unknowing to them they wouldn't get very far.
