Somehow, Emmanuel wasn't reassured that they would be able to avoid a fight. Sure, all he'd heard were rumours, but all rumours had basis in truth and these ones were fucking scary. At the very least, it looked like they had some tough people on the team. Like the Major.

He gratefully took the whistle and rolled it over a few times in his hands. He wondered if the Major had a stock of these for stupid kids like him, or if maybe this belonged to a previous lover. "I'll hold you to that," he said flatly and slipped the whistle into the front pocket of his uniform.
You can always count on a murderer for a fancy prose style.

Abby giggles at the thought of needing a gun. She knew the basics of a 9mm and could use it if needed, but guns were much too loud for her. Knives would always be her weapon of choice.

She looked around and noticed that everyone was awake and getting ready.
We should be stopping soon she thought as she stared out the window at the sunset

Gene nodded absently at the major's answer. "Nah, they probably won't give you guns anytime soon. They'd put you through an eternity of repetitive training first." He started to make his way out of the bus with everyone else. "Guns are *srs bsns*" he added with a wry grin.

"Oh I didn't?" she said rather sarcastically, "seemed rather necessary to me, I wasn't going to sit here and try forever to be gentle in waking you up. So stop your bitching." With that Neena crossed her arms over her chest, and sat back down into her seat, trying to get comfortable before they reached where they needed to be.

((Apologies for inactivity, my IRL suddenly got really busy.))

Alexy Smiled, "good good, now go take a few Potshots over at the range and I'll give instructions on how to aim properly, remember what I showed you." He said taking another bite of his MRE, and leaning back in the seat gesturing towards the range.

------

Kida knew that sound, it sounded like a deep rumbling with the occasional high pitched squeal, She picked her way through some rubble, at least three stories up, She Squinteed and shielded her eyes, leaning her spear against the chest high wall, she peered over at the truck trying to see if the uniformed ones were in there. She could never be sure, but the Loud and arrogant ones drove strange and badly built ones... this one looked well built.

I wonder if they're freindly... She thought, her curiosity growing.

(HELLO TEX)

Ben raised an eyebrow. She's so... mean.

So why do I still like her?

This wasn't what he had wanted at all. He sighed and stood, making his way over to Rob. "How you doing?" he asked.

Rob shrugged, "Fine. You making friends?"

"Sort of."

The transport had entered the city, and was currently making it's bumpy way over the roads, scenes of destruction gracing the windows, but Ben and Rob weren't interested -they'd seen it all before. They hit a particularly harrowing pothole and the passengers went flying. Ben landed hard against the back of a seat, hissing as his arm banging against the metal.

Rob fell against the window, and caught Manny as the smaller man landed against him. Out of the corner of his eye, Rob thought he saw movement atop one of the buildings. Sleepy and hallucinating? Fantastic.

Rob tipped his head down to Manny, "You okay?" he whispered, breath ghosting across his ear.

---

Westlake gave a little smile and nodded. "Just a few," he replied. "I still have a ton of work to do, and it's getting dark."

Pistol training with Alexy at sunset. Almost romantic, in a twisted Delta sort of way.

He took the G17 into his hand, clicking the safety off. He took a breath, feet apart, aimed and fired. Dirt sprayed up four feet in front of the target.

"Make shure..." he swallows, "Make sure you line up the front iron sight in between the two rear ones, and point it at the center of the target," Solid advice, "Hold the gun firmly but not like you're trying to choke it."

Firmly, but not strangled, like you're holding a- Westlake blinked several times, ducked his head just slightly as it paled. Don't think like that. Please, please, just put it out of your mind.

He raised the gun again, half-heartedly fired. The bullet hit the ground again, closer to the target this time. He shook his head, clicked the safety on, and headed back over toward Alexy, shoving the gun into his pocket.

"Look, I'm not really..." he paused, trying to find the right words, "My head is sort of filled with stuff, at the moment. So can we pick this up later? Tomorrow maybe?"

Alexy frowns at Wes, his gaze going steely for a moment like he was dissapointed, but it wore off and he simply shook his head,

He's a Civvie remember? they can't be expected to hold up a training regime
Bullshit, He's a CMO Imagine the training he'd have to have before gaining that position

Alexy looked back up at wes, that frown still on his face, and he opens his mouth to say something.

Whoa Whoa whoa, easy big fella, He IS the CMO, And the probobly means he's got some Work to do, let alone the stress of managing others. You can't expect him to-
Alright alright, I get it, Let him off this once.

Alexy paused and then nodded, "Okay, Take all the time you need, but remember, using a gun isn't something you can use overnight, it requires training and Discipline," He raised an eyebrow and Leaned forwards, "When you next ask me to help you with your gun, be prepared for a Heavy Session, None of this half hearted Bullshit, Understood?" He meant that in the nicest way it could be said,

"That didn't Come off too harsh did it?"
I dunno, you could have kept the bullshit out of it
At least you'll get your point across

Heavey ses-oh my god. Is he doing this on purpose? Westlake tried not to notice the look of disappointment Alexy was giving him. Because he thinks you're chickening out, undisciplined, not because he's having fun hanging out with you, Westlake chided himself.

He gave Alexy a small nod, "I look forward to it." He managed a small grin, "Tomorrow?"

Alexy Nodded and stood up, shoving the empty MRE bag in his pocket, "Da, good, I'll stay out here for a while... going to train myself, up," He stretched and gave Wes a firm yet friendly back pat, "You'll get there eventually, just make sure you're committed for next time, I hate leaving things half finished." he smiled and walked over to the firing range un-slinging his shotgun and leading a few shells into the chamber.

Half-finished, West echoed to himself, then tipped his head to the side with a sigh as he watched Alexy load the shotgun with some trepidation. I suppose then, that you won't be entirely disappointed that I'm completely in love with you.

He shook his head just lightly, feeling a bit stupid to have fallen for someone who had said out loud that there was exactly zero chance for follow through. But whatever. It's not like Wes was about to tell him, so it didn't matter.

The sky was almost entirely collapsed into darkness and he made his way over to the infirmary. I should enter a long term relationship with paperwork, he thought with a grin. Seems like it will always be there for me. And it's slightly less painful than dealing with people.

Abby stuck her head out the window and smiled at the sight of the city.
Although it was getting dark, the glow of what lights they could keep running lit up the city, casting shadows into the outskirts.
She sat on the window sill, her torso up outside the window as she held on for the bumps.
Suddenly the truck hit a pothole and it threw Abby back inside, knocking her head on the way in.

With her hand on her head and a grumpy look on her face, Abby sat as far away from the window as she waited for the truck to stop.

Alexy had just emptied his shotgun downrange, the smoking barrel and the destroyed target that seemed to fall in on itself was the only movement for a few seconds, then Alexy stood up staight and nodded, his aim was as good as always. He rolled his shoulders and groaned, its been a long day... Bed time. He thought as he trudged back to the male dorms stripping his gear off and running a hand through his hair, he smiled and collapsed onto the bed, rolling over and facing the ceiling. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep...

----

Kida tryed to keep pace with the truck moving as quietly as she could her spear held low and her curious eyes transfixed on the truck only looking away to find a better path, she lept and dodged rocks and robble, although she was quick, a keen eye would notice that they were being followed by something fast and quiet.

(you have nooo idea how long I've been waiting to post this *_*)

By the time the paperwork was done, it was quite late. It'd been dark for some time, and Wes wished he had a clock or something in the infirmary - made a mental note to ask Rob if he had a spare -, because it had to be at least 2am, if not later.

He yawned deeply, abandoned the infirmary and stumbled his way toward the offices. Even after what happened earlier, it seemed that he and Alexy had hit some type of stable ground and he felt somewhere between smiling and sighing. Because fuck everything is sucked to be in love with your friend, but heyy at least he had a friend. With Rob, it always felt like more of an obligatory thing, like Rob had to like him, just because of what happened, and that Rob was the CO of Delta.

Wes never imagined that anyone would just like him, for no particular reason. He smiled, making a note to ask Alexy about it tomorrow, when they met for more gun shooting stuff.

The smile vanished quickly from his face as he spotted the dark shadow of a man in his path. Carver. Fucking Carver. Of course it is.

“Hey Wes,” Carver taunted. “Did you have a good day playing soldier with that Russian weirdo? I saw you blushing. Do you love him? Is he your boyfriend now?”

“Go the fuck to bed,” Westlake snapped, face going red as he attempted to sidestep the larger man. But Carver moved to block him.

“You do! That's adorable. But swearing? Really?” Carver faked a pout, “You hurt my feelings. I think you should apologize.” Westlake tried to pass him again, and Carver grabbed him by the wrist tight enough to bruise and make Westlake squeak in pain, “I said apolo-”

Unexpectedly, Westlake twisted out of the hold, using one of the moves Alexy had taught him earlier. Westlake was definitely more surprised than Carver, and a grin spread across his face. Carver's face darkened in a glare. “You think that was funny?” Carver asked, voice under-toned in anger.

“Uh, no, no, I-” Westlake raised his hands in surrender, and started to take a step back. Carver surged forward, fist landing against West's face, too angry to place the injury somewhere it wouldn't be seen. Westlake fell backward from the force, hand flying to his left cheek, feeling blood where it split on Carver's ring. That... is probably going to need stitches. Westlake glared, trying to recall his training, and shoved his hand down to his hip to grab his-Fuck. Where the hell is my-

“What's this?” Carver asked, picking up Westlake's pistol from where it had fallen. He examined it with a peculiar glint in his eye, then gave West a sideways glance, cocking his eyebrow, asking incredulously, “They're letting you carry a gun? You?”

“G-Give it back,” Westlake muttered, unable to take his eyes off the glint of silver.

“What,” Carver asked with a laugh, “Are you afraid I'm going to shoot you?” He ducked down to where West sat on the ground, holding out the gun's handle to the smaller man.

Westlake eyed it suspiciously then tentatively leaned forward, reaching to take it. At the last moment, Carver flipped the gun around, and pressed the barrel against Westlake's forehead. West's heart slammed into his throat. He couldn't breathe.

“A little bit of boot-camp basic hand-to-hand isn't going to change anything,” Carver muttered, low and dangerous. “Like I don't know what the fuck you're doing? You'll never be good enough to beat me, no matter how much you train with your boyfriend.”

Westlake couldn't focus on Carver's words, missed at least half of the little speech. At the moment, his entire world was the feel of cold steel and the feel of blood streaming down the side of his face.

“Bang!” Carver yelled, and Westlake flinched back with a cry. Carver laughed at him, tossed the gun into the dirt and walked away, toward the Mess Hall.

Westlake gasped for air, breathing heavy, heart pounding. His eyes flitted from the gun, to Carver's retreating back, and then to the gun again. Then he bit his lip, snatched the gun up and ran to the Male Bunks.

It didn't take him long to find Alexy, passed out asleep on an upper bunk. On any other given moment, Westlake might find it cute, but he was too panicked to think much of anything. He reached up and roughly shook the man awake.

“Alexy, Alexy, I changed my mind,” Westlake said, voice breaking in a yelled whisper, watering eyes wide as plates, blood streaming down the side of his face. He could feel his hands shaking as he shoved the gun into Alexy's hands. “I don't want it! I don't want to learn how to use, or clean it, or anything! Take it! I don't want it!”
