![]() ![]() ![]() So much for not confessionalizing. ![]() ![]() I'm coming into this with mixed feelings. I'm a huge fan of the show, so that gives me some drive here to nail this. And like my friends at church say, the more strongly you feel about something, the more you want to succeed. On rep choice alone, it would be weird to see Steve Newlin win a True Blood game. I think he's likable enough as a supporting character, but compared to the other obvious "big" ones here, he is fighting an uphill battle in that department. So really, I'm just going to have fun with this one as much as I can because that is really the essence of Steve Newlin anyhow. However, I will do my best here for the True Blood and Steve Newlin fans of the world. On a side note, I think this is the first time I've ever played a gay rep before? Not that it's a big deal, just merely an observation. ![]() But gawlee Christ in heaven we'll see how this goes. Does being a Gay American Vampire not mean you have the best of all worlds? Considering we are in one of the most inbred backwoods towns in all of the United States, being an American should put me at the forefront. Vampire? Who doesn't love the speed, strength, and health benefits? And don't even get me started on how awesome it is being gay. Can I get an Amen? I came in expecting to be able to talk to everyone and not having pre-determined tribes. I even had an idea of exactly what I was going to say to Jason....lolpwnt. It took me back to the time when I was told Christ isn't real and it was only something people made up to get people to act in an orderly fashion. Who wudda thought? But I will just have to use my southern charm on some of these other people until I can finally be with Jason Stackhouse. One day, baby...one day. The God-loving, good side of me wants to be a loyal ally here to the people I promise my loyalty to. I think this format relies much more on social game than it does challenge strength since a core group of allies can help protect each other. Winning the challenge is good and everything because it's immunity and you should never give that up, but it also has the drawback of picking a nominee. It's an interesting format to say the least because do you go for the win, or hold back? It'll be interesting to strategize with that, especially since the order in which picks are determined will also increase paranoia amongst people. Gawlee I love it. :<3 |

Well, you say that it would be weird if Steve Newlin won, but 8 months ago, gay ass Anthony Corleone won my game. and again, I'm sorry that I had to put you on this tribe from the get-go and make it weird because you can't do the anti-vamp shtick to start. I am sure you wanted to do the whole transition thing, but I just couldn't work that in without having more players. Hell, if I had more players, you probably would have been Franklin anyway. |

Were you seriously not going to keep a confessional? I don't understand how people can even play like that. Nice first update, I'll be rooting for you! |

Not confessionalizing was supposed to be my ode to Snoopy ![]() ![]() Do not apologize for such grievances, Master. Reverend Newlin is a much more fun character anyway and I love him so this is extra incentive for me to actually care. As far as the whole switching thing, it's not that big a deal because Steve still retains his religious fervor in future seasons....it's just a tad different. I will not let you down this time. |

![]() So I was operating under the assumption earlier that most people would play to character arcs. That meant on our team, Eric was likely to be the most valuable because he has ties to pretty much everyone here. And I figured he would just fall into the....what do they call that...HVIC role? And I think he has definitely done that here. Most seem to like him, and I made sure to kiss his ass because he won't be going anywhere anytime soon. And truth is...I do like the guy anyway. He reminds me of Jason and since I can't have Mr. Stackhouse just yet, Eric will have to do. So I asked God for advice on this one and he said to go ahead and accept what Eric was proposing. So I told him I would be his best guy friend here, but I am well aware he has other offers, probably from mostly everyone here. However, if I beat them to the punch with sharing information, it will hopefully put me up there with him trusting me the most. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh Bill Compton.....a man I wouldnt mind wrestling with if you know what Im saying, yeah Louisiana? But I'm not so much impressed here. I was assuming he was going to be another huge player here and while he still very well could be, I was a bit disappointed when I got this from him: If I still had a beating heart, it would be pounding right now. Bill...Vampire BILL is asking me if he is a religious guy on the show? At first I though this guy was clearly trollin the great Reverend, but no...it turns out Bill is really just some bottom of the barrel the Guardian picked up. Now I know everyone dislikes Bill and finds him to be either highly annoying or bland, but...this is vampire Bill, folks! How do I work with this? |

So I figure now that we are pretty much into the thick of things now with everyone showing up and everyone getting along so far, I would divulge the more important updates going on in the Reverend's daily book.![]() As previously mentioned, I made sure to get on Northman's good side...looking like Mr. Stackhouse definitely helped but Eric's a smart man and I never turn down someone who has a brain and knows what they are doing. If I had to guess who's the best positioned this early on, I would lean towards him. He's clearly well liked among these parts and I see no way he's in danger anytime soon. He calls me his best friend and often flirts with me which I think is just to appease me, but that's why he's smart. He plays to your vulnerabilities. I do trust him as much as I trust the word of Christ. ![]() He gained a huge lot of my trust when he let me in on a bit of a secret: Pam, Jessica and Sophie Anne had approached him for an alliance. So if I am to be added into that, am I a fifth wheel? Perhaps. But I have yet to be impressed with Sophie Anne so I can see myself possibly edging her out. I also pretty much predicted the Pam/Eric thing. Eric promises me I'm his #1 but I'm no fool. I don't get to the be the head of a massive church without seeing through manipulation. I've had plenty of #1's in my life too, Northman. But I trust this man for right now. I have nothing else to go on besides what he tells me. We have also exchanged our SGs with each other and both couldn't care less about the special power. A man who speaks my language... Make no mistake, however, ladies and gentleman. I know Eric is going to be the biggest threat here and in true Newlin fashion, I'm not above selling out anyone to save my skin. It's the bad side to me and unfortunately we all possess that evil nature. ![]() The heart wants what the heart wants....sure Russell may look a bit decrepit, but I have connected with him on a deeper level. I may lust for Jason Stackhouse and I will always love him but since the Authority wishes to keep us apart for now, Russell will have to do. And he treats me very well for the most part...sure the talks of Talbot are a bit annoying, but I already know I am a major upgrade. ![]() I'm not exactly sure where Russell fits in with the team as a whole....people haven't said much about him, but I love him. He has promised to run this game with me so who am I to turn him away? This is someone actively wanting to work with me so I am going to go out of my way to help him in any which why I can. He also informed me of his SG immediately and his dislike for Lafayette but he also told others about his group so I'm not entirely sure just how loose his lips really are. Well....I have an idea but gawlee I'm not going to go in that direction just yet, you sickos. ![]() My king. Until I get bored or we get Jason over here. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Apparently this is what we are calling this alliance of three...and it was so named by Eric. I have to admit...I'm digging the name. Of course it highlights who the real players are but it also has a tint of Christ that I like. It speaks to power and determination. Again, I know Eric likely has other deals and by extension Pam does too so I can worry about that later. But for now...I am sold on this alliance. Eric does say it's us three for now...but that leaves out the other two ladies he had previously mentioned (the Queen and Jessica) so that's a little odd. But hey... ![]() I am content riding this out with these two until things change, which they will. Socially, I feel like I am in a good place with most people here. Bill and Warlow are my only two "iffys" at this point, but I think if I keep up with the others, I should be fine at least for the first vote. I think the team is probably leaning towards Bill only because he seems like a fish out of water almost. Poor guy. |

You know I hate doing replies that are just "That's a great update" and have nothing to add, but I have little to ask after that, Reverend. Where do some of the others fit in though? I think there was no mention of Bill and Warlow in there, and I'm not sure if "the other girls" referred to like Nora, Nan, Jessica, or some combination of them. |

I did mention both Bill and Warlow at the end unless that was a typo on your end, Guardian. But to further extend on that, Warlow and I might have gotten off on the wrong foot. In my first message to him, I ended it with "I wanna do bad things with you," which he took as a sexual advance. Dear Warlow clearly needs to listen to the theme song a bit more. Shucks! As for Bill...
He realizes there will be nothing to discuss "after a round of play" when he's the first out? Mr. Compton is such a disappointment. I can see why Sookie doesn't ask about him in our forum. She must have the intuition to know he's a bore. I mean, yeah opening weekends do suck and they are awkward, but you have to make the best of it. If the rest of us can find something to talk about, surely he can. Perhaps he should just not sign on at all and make it easier on us. And the ladies....Nan/Nora serve sort of the same purpose for now. I do like both of them a lot, and Nora being in Eric's secret group and his sister means we will probably become allies at some point. In fact, I'm sure she'll be added to "True Authority" before tomorrow. Nora did tell me I was her favorite so far however, but has she went and told Eric the same thing? Vampires can be sooo manipulative. Sophie Anne is just kind of there to me. |

Yeah I get it now. It did more or less seem like it was a tacked on part at the end which was why I was curious if you just forgot to mention them or if that's just what they are to you. By contrast, you having much to say about several of the others above that. |

This makes me laugh as much as Sarah telling me she's going to heaven. Where did you find Bill, Roman? I mean...the guy is definitely out of his element. I will say he's a very nice guy but totally just not in the mindset. I also like the Sophie-Who part. I may have to adopt that meme if she survives past tomorrow. Eric and Nora have both confirmed that they have won the special item as well. That's more of a blessing for now because not only does it increase the target on them, but at least that madness is out of the way. Sweet mercy at how dumb Sookie is though. She actually thought it best to prolong these powers coming into the game? Uh..HELLLOOOO? The sooner they're here, the sooner we can flush them. I hope she's not as clueless as she wants us to believe. ![]() It warms the sweet blood in my mouth to see my two boys working together though and to know they will both be safe for a while. This just makes Jason all that more appealing to me...as if he wasn't special already. Eric has promised he will look out for Jason for me until we get the chance to dance under the stars. Russell is now included in our alliance which is perfect since it's all my friends and lovers together under one umbrella.
