This will serve as this game's Idol. There will only be one. But as in the books, in will be ridiculously hard to find.

The Sugar Bowl will be in a password protected forum. To access the forum, the contestants will have to solve a code. It will be difficult. They'll need to use Double Column Transposition to get it.

http://www.braingle.com/brainteasers/codes/columnartrans.php

What are the letters, you may ask? Here's where the Library comes in. With each story, I've been adding subtitles. The first letters of these subtitles will be combined (from top to bottom) to form the encrypted message. Players will need to win clues to learn all of this however.

When players are in tribes, I plan on having the winning tribe be forced to choose to give away the clue to one of the other tribes. They can't keep the clue for themselves unless they choose to give up Immunity. Same thing will happen when the players merge. The person who wins Immunity will have to give away they clue (they can't get rid of it or drop it in a fire like Monica Culpepper). They can keep the clue, but they'd give up Immunity to whoever came in second.

Yes, getting the Sugar Bowl will be very difficult. But that's the point.

I've not yet decided how many clues it'll take before solving the code will be possible.

The message is a quote from The Importance of Being Earnest:

Quote:

The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what Fiction means.

THE GOOD ENDED HAPPILY AND THE BAD UNHAPPILY THAT IS WHAT FICTION MEANS TT

The two code words to decipher this will be Friday and Sunday, in that order.

So to encipher it first, you do it through SUNDAY, which yields this:

OEITENLIFNTGDPDDUITTOSENPNADPAAINTDHYEDATWCEHEAABEPHHTAODLHNHYSIMT

When you encipher it through FRIDAY...:

ETUEPDTAHHMTNDSDTAEHLIIFDOANDHPDSOLDTPAYCBAHEIPTNIEEEOYNGINAHWATNT

So I need to work the subtitles out so that when you read the first letters down you'll get that ^

When you decipher it, you'd run it through FRIDAY first and then SUNDAY.

This also means the Library will have 60 stories. Oy vey!

Bolded letters are letters that begin the subtitle of a work in the library.

I plan on using column transposition in an early challenge, probably the second one, so it will be something they are familiar with.
