OOC: My sources tell me that while it's main office is based in Chicago, it was founded by Geoff Sheerin, a Canadian entrepreneur who helped start the Arrow project. From what I understand of what I'm reading, Sheerin is president and chief executive officer of PlanetSpace. Anyway, you have NASA, why would you need a second space agency? |

America is now cracking down on corporate polluters. New laws are now in place to ensure that the water, air, and grounds are not polluted by corporations. A new tax is in place that will increase the income tax of corporations up to 75% if they are found to not be decreasing their pollution every year as given in the new laws. Each year the corporations must lower their pollution by a minimum of 10%. Sierra Club and other environmental organizations will be utilized to aid in finding the amount of pollution that is sent out currently and then will be utilized every year at random times throughout the year to test the sites to see if the corporations are complying with the new laws. EPA agents will accompany each group. New recycling laws are also on the books now. All cities will have recycling programs as well as sort through all garbage prior to the garbage being sent to land fills or incinerators. Wood, rubber, metal, plastics, glass, and much else are to be separated for recycling. Styrofoam products are being looked into to find a way to recycle these products. A new 5% tax on all styrofoam products is now in place to help fund this research. |

ooc: this is a private company not a government company such as NASA. Second, just because it was founded by a Canadian does not make it Canadian. Its sole headquarters is in the US, it is not a subsidiary of any Canadian company thus making it a US company. if you want to go there, you have CSA (Canadian Space Agency) as well thus, why do you need to poach my companies? |

OOC: I'm not trying to poaching companies, I just have limited options. The CSA doesn't have actual rockets of it's own and it would take years to start one from scratch. If I can team up the CSA with private companies I will be able to get a working space infrastructure and not have to wait 20 years. And besides, PlanetSpace's main projects are based in Canada, they're working on setting up a spaceport in Nova Scotia (in reality) and they are also planning a test launch on or near Lake Ontario (also, in reality). And it wasn't just founded by a Canadian, it has a Canadian as it's president. I have two goals in this roleplay, I'd like to have Canada establish a strong presence in the North, and I would like them to establish an independent space infrastructure. If you had an objection to me using PlanetSpace you should have said something at this post HERE. But at this point I've already invested a lot of time and resources into this. I even posted a notice to ask if it was OK for me to advance the CSA using PlanetSpace rockets! http://z13.invisionfree.com/WW3RP/index.php?showtopic=2574 And no one voiced any official complaints. Plus, this could be of a serious benefit for both Canada and the US. PlanetSpace has all these cool projects planned that are fully independent from NASA. I could handle their development from my end, while you could focus on NASA on yours. |

ooc: i have no issue with you using PlanetSpace at all. I have issue with you saying it is part Canadian when it is not. PlanetSpace has many projects in the US as well so you cannot use the fact that they have projects in Canada as some sort of guiding light. Fact is, nothing states it is part Canadian at all and using the fact that one co-founder is president of a Canadian company is ridiculous. by that standard, PlanetSpace is a Canadian-American-UK-Russian-Indian since the other cofounder was also cofounders of a UK company, Russian company, and is Indian (as in India). So unless you want to split the company that way, you have no claim to the company of PlanetSpace beyond the projects currently underway. |
