The Dokdo build-up is 20% complete. The Synchrotron is 46 months from completion. The Haeundae Udong Hyundai I' Park in Busan, Korea has finally opened to the world. Studio Daniel Libeskind was kind enough to be at the opening ceremony as they were the ones to help make the design come to life. Click here for a clip of the place. SDL also announced the ground breaking of Archipelago 21 or Dream Hub Yongsan IBD. This is one of the most enduring projects Korea has taken and it is expected to finish by the end of 2024. After much debate concerning the union of the Korean Peninsula and future politics, it has finally come to a decision. Starting July 2014, the first "united Korea" presidential elections is to take place. The future of the parliamentary elections is still under debate. Majority of the parties have absorbed new support throughout the north, some more than others. Surprisingly, the Democratic Labour Party has gained the most support from the northerners putting them in a potential lead. Elections will be held in every district of Korea, and an effort to raise voter turnout is being produced. Efforts also include visiting small towns and villages that have otherwise no knowledge of this election due to their isolation from the more modern regions of Korea. This is especially apparent in the north. The following parties have announced their candidates for the Korean Presidential Election 2014 in no specific order as of yet: United New Democratic Party Leader: Son Hak-gyu Candidate: Chung Dong-young Platform: Democracy, peace, integration (political), environmentalism Democratic Labour Party Leader: Kang Gi-gap Candidate: Kwon Young-ghil Platform: Democracy, heavy nationalism, equal rights, socialism Grand National Party Leader: Hong Joon-pyo Candidate: Lee Myung-bak Platform: Democracy, pro-USA, heavy conservative, capitalist Creative Korea Party Leader: Moon Kook-hyun Candidate: Moon Kook-hyun Platform: Democracy, liberal, humanism, centrist (economy) Socialist Party Leader: Choi Gwang-eun Candidate: Lee Nu-taeo Platform: One-party, liberal, socialism, heavy nationalism The heaviest campaigning in Korean history has begun throughout the republic. Each candidate is set to make a national statement within the following month about their position and opinions of the world. Parliament asks the world to keep to themselves till after the initial statements are made. |

There has been a change in the law. Only the unemployed and unmarried will be drafted. All others can join at their will. |
