A Astronomer ran into the Room of the ASA(African Space Agencies) CEO. He was blabbering endlessly about something, something important. Mr Umbukto the CEO said "Calm down man, tell me what it is." The Astronomer looked up and said "Sir, I have a great Idea. 99942 Apophis is able to be captured into Earth Orbit. I have just finished some calculations as part of the L-1 Project for my Hypothesis. If we can launch atleast 16 Rockets, that carry enough fuel to maintain momentum and this exact spot in the solar system on January 2, 2015, ontop of carrying their payload of each holding Nuclear Pulse Detonation Engines(Essentially they are engines, that use nooklear power to run) we can intercept 99942 Apophis on July 19th, 2015. While on December 7th, 2015, 99942 Apophis will be caught into the Earths Gravitational Pull as its course, and speed has been altered by the thrusters. This would essentially create a Minable Asteroid of massive value for the LSU. While advancing Humanities Space Based Ventures by greater values. I hope that you will accept this Idea, and if possible begin to form a team, and unit to begin to assemble the needed materials, and supplies for this mission."

OOC :
For the Mods to read/decide
if not I will use different propulsion. I have 3 months to prepare.
High performance depends on the high exhaust velocity, in order to maximize the rocket's force for a given mass of propellant. The velocity of the plasma debris is proportional to the square root of the change in the temperature (Tc) of the nuclear fireball. Since fireballs routinely achieve ten million degrees Celsius or more in less than a millisecond, they create very high velocities. However, a practical design must also limit the destructive radius of the fireball. The diameter of the nuclear fireball is proportional to the square root of the bomb's explosive yield.

The shape of the bomb's reaction mass is critical to efficiency. The original project designed bombs with a reaction mass made of tungsten. The bomb's geometry and materials focused the x-rays and plasma from the core of nuclear explosive to hit the reaction mass. In effect each bomb would be a nuclear shaped charge.

A bomb with a cylinder of reaction mass expands into a flat, disk-shaped wave of plasma when it explodes. A bomb with a disk-shaped reaction mass expands into a far more efficient cigar-shaped wave of plasma debris. The cigar shape focuses much of the plasma to impinge onto the pusher-plate.

For example, a 10 kiloton of TNT equivalent atomic explosion will achieve a plasma debris velocity of about 100,000 m/s, and the destructive plasma fireball is only about 100 meters in diameter. A 1 megaton TNT explosion will have a plasma debris velocity of about 10,000,000 m/s but the diameter of the plasma fireball will be about 1000 m.[citation needed].

The maximum effective specific impulse, Isp, of an Orion nuclear pulse drive generally is equal to:

    I_{sp} = \frac{C_0 \cdot V_e}{g_n}
Posted Image

where C0 is the collimation factor (what fraction of the explosion plasma debris will actually hit the impulse absorber plate when a pulse unit explodes), Ve is the nuclear pulse unit plasma debris velocity, and gn is the standard acceleration of gravity (9.81 m/s²; this factor is not necessary if Isp is measured in N·s/kg or m/s). A collimation factor of nearly 0.5 can be achieved by matching the diameter of the pusher plate to the diameter of the nuclear fireball created by the explosion of a nuclear pulse unit.

The smaller the bomb, the smaller each impulse will be, so the higher the rate of impluses and more than will be needed to achieve orbit. Smaller impulses also means less g shock on the pusher plate and less need for damping to smooth out the acceleration.

TL:DR to that wall of text. I want to put some "Nukes" on a Rocket, ship them to this Asteroid, and detonate them one by one over a period of time(12 Months Nearly) to slow an Asteroid Down, and then catch it into Far Earth Orbit(Lagrange Points). Pending your Approval, I will use this propulsion system, if not I will have to hit up someone else. /ooc

Construction of the plant continues and land has been opened for sale from the Catchment. Six blocks were sold off for high rise luxury housing units for top property value. Construction companies are hired by the owners to begin the approved buildings.

Land reclamation continues as planned and the works on Pulau Tekong are nearly completed where it will be opened for private development.

The bridge project is continuing slightly ahead of schedule.

OOC: So I talked to Jacapo, and NO I CANNOT USE NUKES TO SLOW SHIT DOWN. Thus, Plan B is starting.

IC: A Gameplan is finally beginning to form as Scientists continue to work with their friends in the ESA, and KAI. Work has begun on a Variable Specific Impulse Magnetoplasma Rocket, or well 12 of them. The ESA has been asked to lend its experience, and help construct the Units. While Medical Mechanica has begun construction on 12 of the Smallest Nuclear Reactors they can build. Work on stockpiling De-Hydrated Food stored in sealed containers, along with constructing a Module that will contain Soil, and Water. From there, work on the Module for Habitation is continuing. It will be extremely small, with only 2 Rooms, a Living Room, and a Control/Entertainment Room. International Help is asked, as we need rockets that can do the following.

Launch 152 Thousand Miles, remain in position(meaning you will have to add retro thrusters). Specific Nations asked are China, with the Long March 5 (LM-5, CZ-5, or Changzheng 5), Along with the United States, with the Ares I, and Orion. They are both welcome to join in this mission, and reap the rewards of it.

We thank the entries thus far, and will be sure to remember them.

The analytical work is complete, and now a series of contracts and requests have been put out by the Portuguese Military.

Portuguese Small Arms Contract

Portugal is looking to replace its G3 m/61 assault rifles, and potentially the IMI Galil m/94 used by our paratroopers.

Currently Portugal has contacted the following for prices, and availability;

Assault Rifles
Swiss Arms: SIG SG550 Assault Rifle, as well as the SIG SG552 Commando
Russia: AK-74, AK-101, AK-103, AK-107

Sniper Rifles
Steyr Mannlicher: Steyr Scout 7.62mm

The RK95, TRG, and Tkiv 85 have been factored into these as well, and prices are requested.

Portuguese Air Defense Contract

Portugal in general is looking to boost our air defense capabilities. Equipment being requested is as follows;

MIM-72 Chaparral
SA-8 Gecko
SA-19 Grison

Portuguese Trainer Aircraft Contract

Portugal is looking for a good basic trainer to replace the DHC Chipmunks that we are steadily losing. As well, we are looking to expand our helicopter program in the future, and would like to get a helicopter training program put up immediately.

Fixed Wing
T-6 Texan II
Pilatus PC-9
Short Tucano
Embraer EMB-312 Tucano
Fuji T-3 (Offer to take these, much rather they be scrapped)

Rotary Wing
Bell 206
MD Helicopters MD-500
OH-6 Cayuse (Offer to Japan to take instead of scrap)

Submarine

Type 209 Class (Already Planned)
Rubis Class
Agosta 90B Class

(Generally Attack Submarines.)

OOC: No, I didn't just ask for everything from Counterstrike. The version of the Scout from CS is the 5.56mm model, there's the SIG SG550 (Not in), and then the 74/101/103/107 are also not in.

I can make your day and ask for the Desert Eagle and the AWP though. Also the RK-95, Sako TRG, and Tkiv 85 are from a Player Country.. :P

I'll be editing my response in soon. (You will know why.)

IC:
Until the other assault rifle competition can give quotes regarding their weaponry, we will not give this contract out yet for the assault rifles.

However, we will order 10,000 AK-101s for our paratroopers. Total cost will be $7,000,000 unless a discount is given.

The Sniper Rifle contract will also not go out until Finland can offer their quotes.

We wish to purchase 100 MIM-72 Chaparral, and we will use our stock of AIM-9 Sidewinders. Total cost will be $150,000,000 unless discount is given.

Portugal will take Japan up on its offer and buy all of the 50 ship fleet of Fuji T-3s, as well as 100 of your OH-6 Cayuse. Total cost will be 87,500,000.

As to the submarines, we will evaluate this further and get back to you all.
