With the recent downturn of the Portuguese economy, as well as the global downturn, Portuguese politicians have drafted together a program, named Mares Ásperos (Rough Seas), to help bring the country into a more balanced state, and fix existing issues within the country. First and foremost, work begins on identifying pointless and unnecessary public positions. This will reduce government expenditures, and we do not expect to make any significant gains here (Expected to be around $2-3 million). As well, police (Both civilian and military, to ensure that no corruption interferes) will begin cracking down on suspected corruption scandals, subjecting said scandals and the involved to trial. Additionally (For now), the Portuguese Air Force has announced the formation of a new organization dedicated to the act of firefighting. It is expected that this new National Guard will use equipment bound for retirement (Overhauled and repaired of course). |
