The Turkish General Staff have ordered the construction of a large shipyard capable of building 5 carriers simultaneously.  The 5 slips can be used to build 5 carriers of the USS Nimitz's size.

Construction time is to be 15 months.  Upon completion, 4 carriers of the  Enterprise class will be laid down.

10 months too completion.

6 months till completion.

3 months till completion.

Turkey announces the completion of the new shipyard capable of building 5 ships of the Nimitz class, although there are no plans for Nimitz carriers as of now. The shipyard will be operated by Aircraft Carrier Corporation.

Slips will be numbered 1-5.

Slips 1-3 will be solely for orders made by the Turkish government.

Slip 4 will be used to do modifications on carriers or upgrade them

Slip 5 will be used to complete orders placed by other nations.

It is at this time, that the ACC will take orders from other nations to build carriers that we are legally capable of doing. (OOC: In essence, if you want an Enterprise, but you don't have the ability to get one from the US, you can't get one from me either...)

The Turkish government also places an order for 3 Enterprise Class Carriers to be built.

Time to completion: 36 months

Oceania awaits the Maltese Economic collapse. True Communism may be more plausible in a small state such as Malta, but we doubt it will succeed.

Agreed, Communism never worked where ever its been.

No you do not control oil price

OOC: Sure he could, he controls most of the world's used oil, he could not send some and raise the price.

With the rise of Solar and wind power technology, the Turkish government has ordered that all government buildings in Ankara be powered by solar panels within the year. A bill has also been passed that within the next 2 years, half of the military facilities in Turkey, must be powered by wind power. This includes military bases, naval bases, Air Force bases, and other Turkish military facilities.

The Turkish government has also passed a bill that will require 15% of vehicles in Turkey to be electrical by the year 2016. We look to other nations for help in this matter.

A wind farm of 800 windmills will be built outside of Istanbul to supply some power for the city.

The first part of Mares Ásperos has succeeded. Already many redundant or useless government positions have been removed, and a good couple million dollars in expenditures has been reduced. Businesses and industries are also able to work more efficiently, due to no longer having to work with the complicated local government structure.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese Air Force has announced that some ~2,500 recruits are currently in training, and will soon be part of a 4,000 personnel firefighting corps. The new corps will be using the 26 CASA C-212 Aviocars, set to retire soon in the Portuguese Air Force, refurbished by OGMA and Dragon Works.

Dragon Works' new headquarters and shop facility is currently near 25% complete. Personnel have been hired, and are assisting in the renovation process, with some going to OGMA to assist in the refurbishing work, as well as to get experience in working in one of their expected fields.

Work begins on refurbishing, and upgrading the CASA C-212 Aviocars. OGMA and Dragon Works have teamed up for this project, and the Portuguese government has requested that Dragon Works carry the product in the end, due to OGMA's foriegn interferences. OGMA will still carry the upgraded version, under license by Dragon Works.

Current focuses are on developing a domestic turboprop engine that will perform as well, if not better than the existing engine, a new wing design, a retractable set of landing gear, as well as the new firefighting variant that will be used (Mainly) by the Portuguese Air Force.

Designs of an Extremely Basic Space Station have been somewhat Finalized. The Station will be a Cylinder that is 160 Meters Long, and 50 Meters in Diameter. The Majority of the Construction will be a Frame, with a 60 Meter Long, 5 Meter Tall Superstructure in the Middle/Exterior of the Station.

Posted Image

Work will continue on the design for another month or so, then construction on a frame will begin while actual designing of the Habitation Area will begin. The ESA is asked if it could build a Temporary Habitation Module based upon its ISS Designs. It is estimated, that with this construction it will take all 40 Rockets that the ASA Currently has planned under acquisition from the ESA. The Total Station Cost is estimated at around 21 Billion USD, however that is subject to rise as costs continue to accumulate.

Work also begins on a New Launch System, that will involve a Mass Driver, and Single Stage to Orbit System. For such a Project However, a 600x1 Kilometer Strip of Land in the USoA is being bought by the Government and set aside.

Quote:

In contrast to a space gun, a mass driver can have a length of hundreds of kilometers and therefore achieve acceleration without excessive g forces to the passengers. It can be constructed as a very long and mainly horizontally aligned launch track for spacelaunch, targeted upwards at the end, partly by bending of the track upwards and partly by Earth's curvature in the other direction.

Natural elevations, such as mountains, may facilitate the construction of the distal, upwardly targeted part. The higher up the track terminates, the less resistance from the atmosphere the launched object will receive.

By being mainly located slightly above, on or beneath the ground, a mass driver may be easier to maintain compared with many other structures of non-rocket spacelaunch. If not underground then it still needs to be housed in a pipe that is constantly vacuum pumped in order to reduce drag.

In order to be able to launch humans and delicate instruments, it would need to be several hundreds of kilometres long. For rugged objects, with magnetic assistance, a significantly smaller, circular, track may suffice.

A mass driver on Earth would be a compromise system. A mass driver would accelerate a payload up to some high speed which is not high enough for orbit. It would then release the payload, which completes the launch with rockets. This would drastically reduce the amount of velocity needed to be provided by rockets to reach orbit. On Earth, a mass driver design could possibly use well-tested maglev components.

International Programs are invited to join into the Mass Driver Program.

The costs of making military uniforms is increasing due to the complexity of making camouflage patterns. As a result, and due to the effective nature of plain olive drab/tan uniforms (In both cost and battle), Portugal will begin reverting to Allied WW2 style uniforms, with the usual modern tactical gear added. With this change, it is expected that we will save a significant amount of money in uniforming our troops.

Special forces will be able to keep camouflage patterns, and we will order their uniforms from other countries, or from a reserve.

Portuguese companies have started assisting in the transition to these new uniforms, and thus far costs are anywhere from 20-60% lower than the costs of acquiring camouflaged uniform wear. With this heavy cost eliminated, it is expected that personnel will have more money for themselves, and will contribute to the economy more.

That seems to be a hugely inefficient design, from that picture it looks like about 90% of the metal is just structural wastage.
