America decides that due to the increase in global cost of grain, that corn based ethanol is not a viable alternative fuel source. Algae based ethanol is the new alternative fuel source that America is investing in. Funding has ceased for corn based ethanol and instead been put into algae based ethanol. The 85 million tons of corn set aside for ethanol research is instead to be sold to nations in need. The corn will be sold for $500 per ton. OOC: http://www.technologyreview.com/energy/18138/ |
