ooc: "The United States Department of Energy estimates that if algae fuel replaced all the petroleum fuel in the United States, it would require 15,000 square miles (40,000 square kilometers), which is a few thousand square miles larger than Maryland. This is less than 1/7th the area of corn harvested in the United States in 2000." this is from wiki..... >.> http://www.iata.org/pressroom/facts_figure...s/alt_fuels.htm http://www.oilgae.com/ http://www.oilgae.com/blog/2009/01/contine...f-on-algae.html http://oilgae.com/blog/2007/11/some-biofue...nt-food-to.html http://www.energy-arizona.org/index.php/20...tem-introduced/ http://www.energyandcapital.com/articles/b...e-biodiesel/395 so taking around 4.5 million acres from the current 938 million acres of farmland and turning them into algae farms will produce enough oil per year to replace all the oil in America. |

America plans on turning 51 million acres of cropland not in rotation (keeping around 80 million of cropland not in rotation still unused) and turning them into algae farms. The farmland will be selected from current farmland that farmers are unable to use to produce traditional crops. This will help not interrupt any harvests currently underway and will not disrupt the main livelihood of the farmers. This is expected to also help offset more costs for farmers as well due to raising extra money from unused cropland. As such, within 3 years after the algae production begins, a review will take place about turning the other 80 million unused cropland into algae farms as well as reviewing the subsidies to farmers based on the growth of income gathered from the algae production. |

Half of the positions have been applied for, and the applications are currently being reviewed. Additionally, 8 more students have enrolled in our civilian flight training program. This will bring in a good amount of money, as the private pilot licenses will rate about $7-8k. Our program also includes giving them flight hours to get their license faster, thus our program will bring in anywhere from $7-16k per student. |

Senegal has started to fall to shreds. After the recent issues in the attempt at making a navy there are now many debts and economy issues. As time goes on Senegal has now become almost five seperate countries. Each one has a "Warlord" and they are constantly fighting and making the bad situation worse. Dakar is almost the only place that the government has any more power over. The most powerful warlord so far is man that calls himself Ghi Alkek Tfig. No one knows anything about his past though rumors are that he is ruthless and uses cunning not brute force to destroy all who oppose him. The other factions are not as powerful and would crumble without his supplies to raid from. Senegal is starting its airforce and arming the few troops that are still loyal and marching off to his fortress. The numbers include: All Airorce units but trsiners and transports 10,000 men standard equipment versus 500 AA guns with almost unlimited ammo 20,000 with armorplated trucks, a underground fort and trenches |

The Senegalese military was completely routed but for one utility helicopter which was taken and will be reconstructed. Senegal asks the AU to help them from this disastrous threat. The Warlord Ghi is marching onto Dakar and will reach it in one month. |

[OOC]This would help to visualize, most people (I assume) aren't that familiar with the layout of Senegal.![]() That long horizontal void there seems to be a river that is independent of the country for some reason. Known as "the Gambia". ![]() [/OOC] In-Character: Canada wishes to send financial and medical aid to the war-stricken country, but will refrain until the African Union has stepped in and made an official statement regarding the situation. |

North Korea and South Korea are no longer valid terms, Republic of Korea or Korea is the appropriate term to be used. Development of the regions has begun. Pyongyang is to be turned into a new world city, clean and free. The Ryugyong Hotel, which was being topped off before the invasion, is to be finished and used to house all people ravished by the war. The impoverished Koreans are allowed entry into the hotel, which was amazingly left untouched by the war and in great condition, unlike the rest of city still in flames and smoke plumes. Egypt's Orascom Group, who was working on the tower during 2008 when construction resumed, will be payed by the Korean government for compensation on the work they did, something the former North Korean government did not do yet. Pyongyang's skyline, like most of former North Korea, is covered in smog from the smoke plumes. As the Chinese forces begin leaving, the Korean soldiers are filling in as police, detectives, and whatnot until the whole region is stabilized and developed enough to sustain their own police force. Development will begin in Pyongyang then spiral outwards. Development will include a new, top notch sewage and water system for the city, a series of new high rises including a tower taller then the planned Nakheel Harbour & Tower, new parks, two nuclear power plants, a new transportation and road system, building a large Korean Bullet station to connect Pyongyang to the rest of the Korean Peninsula. The Tar Heart Project will turn the entire Korean Peninsula into a connected "megapolis". **Highly Classified** (OOC: Don't care if China knows, they would anyways cause their soldiers are in the area, and I plan on working with China anyways. )Tar Heart Military Program begins in Changang. Citizens in the regions are escorted out of the province, and given permission to live in the southern peninsula, or move to China. Their travel and any other financial needs will be covered by the Korean government. Changang's cites will converted into military installations and bases. Changang will be, after being completed, the most armed place in the world. A planned 45 new type of ICBM silos will be installed throughout the region, capable of hitting as far as central US and Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, eastern Africa, and the eastern-most areas of Europe. Their use will be primarily defensive, capable of taking out large numbers with only one missile. The missiles themselves are still in research, although Korea wishes to purchase the plans to the ICBMs China uses. The new design will hopefully become the most powerful behind a nuclear ICBM. There will also be several production facilities in the region that will eventually allow Korea to become self sufficient in all military arms. 13 research complexes, 10 weapons testing sites, 6 large military-grade airfields, 22 aeronautics production facilities, 25 vehicles production facilities, 15 fuel/chemical manufacturing plants, 20 small arms production facilities, and 30 ammunition production plants. The entire province will be walled with a 2 story reinforced concrete walls and strategically placed defense towers. Once complete, the province will be the heaviest defended region by air and land using some of the most advanced air defense systems and weapons. The funds of this are mostly coming from Samsung, Hyundai, LG, Aju, Dongbu, Doosan, E.Land, Eugene, GS, Hyosung, Lotte, SK, Woori, and LS. All of which are large conglomerates which are heavily investing into this program. Samsung, Hyundai, and LG are collaborating with the Korean government to hopefully set up a large defense company to manage all the products planned to be made. |

The hydrogen fuel cell cars have been released to the public. While the prices are high currently, it is expected to decrease sharply within the next 3 years. Currently the price tags range from $65,000 to $150,000 for the vehicles. The construction of 150 new hydrogen fuel stations have been completed across America. The renovations of 400 existing stations to support hydrogen fueling has also been completed across America. Already the rich across America begin buying what is seen as the latest Green Trend. Over 35,000 cars have already been sold to Americans ranging from celebrities to doctors and lawyers. It is rumored that GM and Ford are working on a hybrid version of the hydrogen fuel cell that will have an estimated 650-750 mile range per tank of hydrogen fuel. |
