Development is going smoothly throughout the northern peninsula. Everything is still under construction, but for the most part, things are looking very nice. Pyongyang also has 5 new high rise buildings being propped up, which will be as high or higher than the Ryugyong Hotel. Engineers are also working to change the type of architecture used in the prior North Korea. Their current form is bleak and very depressing, and a serious reminder of the harsh life North Koreans lived.

The US will pump $150 billion into its mining sector. It will focus on gold but will also expand other mines.

This is already beginning to yield fruit as several mines were previously not economically able to continue mining but can now continue to do so. This increases job security and leads to hiring and training of unemployed.

America decides that due to the increase in global cost of grain, that corn based ethanol is not a viable alternative fuel source. Algae based ethanol is the new alternative fuel source that America is investing in. Funding has ceased for corn based ethanol and instead been put into algae based ethanol.

The 85 million tons of corn set aside for ethanol research is instead to be sold to nations in need. The corn will be sold for $500 per ton.

America plans on turning 51 million acres of cropland not in rotation (keeping around 80 million of cropland not in rotation still unused) and turning them into algae farms. The farmland will be selected from current farmland that farmers are unable to use to produce traditional crops. This will help not interrupt any harvests currently underway and will not disrupt the main livelihood of the farmers.

This is expected to also help offset more costs for farmers as well due to raising extra money from unused cropland.

As such, within 3 years after the algae production begins, a review will take place about turning the other 80 million unused cropland into algae farms as well as reviewing the subsidies to farmers based on the growth of income gathered from the algae production.

The algae farms are prepared and has begun to grow algae. 10 algal oil refineries are being built.

The Algal refineries are 50% completed.

The refineries are 65% complete.

The refineries are 70% complete.

Obama announces that the 2010 economic report is out. An overview is that the 6.1% unemployment is down to 4.3% a drop of 1.8% which means that almost 3 million Americans are no longer unemployed. The US economy is beginning recovery with most companies reporting even budgets (89%), some reporting surplus budgets (10%) and the rest reporting deficit budgets (1%). This jump in even budgets and surplus budgets is reportedly due to the increase of jobs and money in America but also the expansion of American companies into regions that have never had US companies there before.

The deficit budget that was predicted to be $357 billion was only $201 billion.

The external debt of $2.326515 trillion is down to $2.0492 trillion meaning that $277.315 billion has been paid off this past year.
