Bougainville and Fiji both have reserves of gold and copper and a few other minerals. Bougainville's civil war was partially started over the fact that the gold being mined there was not profiting the actual island at all, just the mainland and they laid a ton of people off.

(OOC: Will serve as the general thread for all WDC internal reports..)

Journey Home

Operation Autumn Thunder drew to a close with a party between the aggressors and the graduates, who were officially given their degrees after the last dogfight by the instructors that tagged along.

One of the instructors released this statement to the local news stations, who swarmed the instructors' vehicle as they prepared to depart Las Vegas;

"Its just a proud day for us, and for our organization. We wish the graduates luck in their careers in the military, and we thank the military for their support and assistance in this operation."

The two Cessna Citation X were spotted departing Nellis AFB soon after, and returned home to March ARB to a welcoming committee.

Expansion of Flight Training Programs

With the official sponsorship of the US military, WDC has started preparations to expand the military flight training program, in light of a growing demand shortly after Operation Autumn Thunder in Nellis AFB.

Currently 10 are enrolled in the civilian flight training program and are set to graduate within two months.

Effective immediately, the rates for the military flight training program are to be raised. In the beginning the rate was $80,000 for a 14 month program. Now the rate is to be $150,000 for a 17 month program, which will include advanced training in airframes that they will likely proceed into.

An additional $15,000 will be added in the event that military flight training is completed, however the graduate does not continue on to serve in the USAF, USN, or USMC.

The civilian flight training costs of $16-18k will be slightly raised to $20-22k, however more will come with those programs, which will last approximately a year.

As well, WDC has opened an additional 16 maintenance personnel positions, and has opened 4 special instructor positions. These instructors must be certified in V/STOL takeoff, and must have at one time served in the USMC. (May be former pilots, if so I will train them to be instructors.)

OOC: Okay...except the mine was closed and the current landowners don't want the mine to be reopened nor would the private company that thinks they own the land be able to due to pending law suits in three nations...so go ahead and open up a can of legal worms..not to mention the re opening of any mines of Bougainvillea would stir up a shit storm from rebel groups.

As agreed upon, the 10 CJ-6 will be accepted in lieu of payment for 1 Harrier. The 4 L-39 will be exchanged at the rate of $1.5 million for all 4 and put towards the payment of the remaining 3 Harriers. This leaves WDC to pay $28.5 million for the remaining 3 Harriers. A payment plan is set up.

This will be acceptable. The aircraft in question will be sold to you, and we should have the aircraft paid off within 5 years.

EDIT-
WDC has also paid $4 million of this off already with funds in reserve.

OOC: "...licenses to explore large oil reserves..." US and Australia don't have licenses to drill yet, you are there to locate oil so you can then apply for a drilling license. So really, he doesn't need to compensate you.

Much is completed, with the exception of the two nuclear power plants and the sewage/water treatment plants. Roads, those that seemed to be in disrepair, have been repaved and repainted. Water pipes have been replaced with newer more sturdy ones. The station for the Korean Bullet in Pyongyang is nearly finished. And the overall update on the infrastructure is still underway. Lotte has bought a massive amount of property throughout the northern provinces which will be developed into grocery and shopping centers. They will market goods that North Koreans were restricted to purchase, opening up their eyes to capitalism.
