All four Pitcairn Islands are inhabited and utilities such as water and electricity are readily availible. Docks allow easy access to each island and Micronesian compost is in the fourth month of being lain over the rocky soil of three of the islands. The land is slowly converted into farmland which along with fishing will be the islands' main income. Palikir reports the islands now have 750 permanent residents despite over 3,000 people being present mostly working construction jobs. |

Graduation This month 10 of our civilian flight training program trainees have graduated. In light of this occasion a small party has been organized by the graduates, and some of the instructors attended. Due to this, slots have opened up in the civilian flight training program, and already applications are flooding in. WDC will officially announce the number to be let in next month. C-141 Upgrade With the two Starlifters sitting on the tarmac grounded, some of the maintenance personnel have started pitching ideas around for an overhaul and upgrade of the airframes. Thus far, an engine replacement has been found, and an upgraded fly-by-wire control system have been proposed. |
