Ponyville is a small village well to the southwest of Canterlot, but within full view of it. The population tends more towards Earth Ponies, but Pegasi and Unicorns have a good representation there. Bordering it to the south east is the vast expanse of the Everfree Forest, and to the west lays the far friendlier Whitetail Wood. Ponyville is small and cosy, with more practical architecture and a (mostly) friendly population.

The capital city, Canterlot has a primarily unicorn population. Built into the side and caldera of a tall, extinct volcano, Canterlot is a gorgeous city with sweeping, Renaissance-style architecture. From the ground, all that can be seen of Canterlot is the Royal Palace, with the city lying nestled and hidden within the protective walls of the ancient volcano. A main road circles up the sides for ground-based ponies to access it, although the quickest way to get there is by air. Above the city, in a dip at the top of one of the volcano's walls, resides a lake. Streams fall in majestic waterfalls from this watersource, and the surroundings of Canterlot Lake have been turned into a gorgeous park.

Cloudsdale is the city of the Pegasi, a fantastical place composed of snowy white, cottony soft clouds and gleaming rainbows. The architecture favors patterened columns and arches, nearly all of it in minimalistic white. This is where the Weather Factory that produces all of the weather for Equestria is located. Cloudsdale is, in general, north of Ponyville and west of Canterlot. It doesn't have a totally fixed location, and instead tends to float high above the Great Nimbusgait Lakes, which provides all of the moisture the Pegasi need for their work. NOTE: Non-Pegasi need a cloudwalking spell to post here.

Manehattan is a sprawling metropolis and port city located in the northeast of end of Equestria, right on the edge of the Seasaddle Bay. Skyscrapers and glass-and-metal architecture are common here, and the population mostly consists of Earth ponies and Unicorns, with a smaller population of Pegasi. Due to the bustling port and the fact that it's a trade hub, Manehattan is the largest city in Equestria, even larger than the capital, Canterlot.

The Everfree Forest is a massive, dark wooded area, a very dangerous place for anyone to venture. Only the bravest and most foolhardy venture within, as the forest is home to some of the most dangerous creatures known to Ponykind. Covering the swath of land between the Chrysolite range to the west and the Great Nimbusgait Lakes to the east, the cursed forest takes up a good sized area of Equestria, and would take several days to cross... If one made it out alive at all. A large spur of the forest extends to the southeast of Ponyville, and it is here that the most traversed of the ancient roadways remain. But that doesn't make them safe by any stretch of the imagination.

These mountains, bordering the northern Badlands, are studded with rich deposits of precious gems, some easily as large as a pony's head! Pocked with hundreds of caves, some shallow and some leading to endless mazes of tunnels, it serves as the proud and ancient homes of the Diamond Dogs.

Located in the Painted Pinto Desert, Appleoosa is an Earth Pony dominated frontier town, full to bursting with down home charm and stark, wood and whitewash architecture. Its Salt Bars are world renowned, even though its population is still rather small.

Colting Cove is a gorgeous vacation spot, full of pristine beaches with soft white and golden sands along Equestria's southern shores. The waters there are blue and sparkling, and it's a popular destination for those looking to get away from it all. There are plenty of rental vacation houses to stay in, and the beach itself is a popular place for ponies and seaponies to interact. Storms are rare, but those coming in off the ocean are fierce, and one has to seek shelter or court their own doom. A few caves line the occasional rocky areas, and when the tide is low they can be explored. Some caves have large crystals growing from the walls, ceilings, and floors, worthless in value but beautiful to look at, and guided tours are available to lead ponies through. All in all, a perfect place for relaxing with some fun in the sun.

Newly discovered, the underwater city belonging to the Sea Ponies rests within the waters to the south of Equestria's shores, centered at the floor of the Equestrian Gulf. A vibrant city formed from coral, it can only be visited by those who have made the effort to track down a water-breathing spell.

Located Northwest of Equestria, this is the ancestreal home of the dragons. During the winter it is a barren wasteland covered in ice and snow, and during the summer... Well, it's still a barren wasteland, only unbearably hot. Food is scarce and what little there is tends to be bland and dry. Is it any wonder that there seem to be so few dragons in the world these days?

This continent to the south east of Equestria is filled with sweltering jungles, tropical plants, and all manner of mystery. Between the massive, rainforest consume mainland and the thousands upon thousands of small islands, South Amareica is fairly unexplored, with very few ponies going out of their way to travel the grounds. But those who have always return with fantastic tales, nearly beyond belief. Plants that can control minds, beasts with a thousand legs and twice as many eyes, and temples of an ancient culture boiling over with treasure. It is populated primarily by Llamas and the Quetzalcoatal, a race of flying snakes with jewel like skins and rainbow wings. Rumours that small, fuzzy creatures with many jointed fingers and serpentine tails once lived in the region as well are obviously overstated.

The ancestral homeland of the Zebras, Pundani is a mostly wild country, with vast stretches of wilderness spotted by small villiages and one or two cities. Known for it's massive savannahs and lush jungles, as well as it's somewhat frightening population of wild animals that would love nothing more than to make an unwary traveller their dinner, Pundani is a beautiful, if dangerous, place. Most of the local Zebras are downright friendly, but there are still occasional villages that one should steer clear of.

Never engage in a land war in Mane-Ji, they say. The soaring mountains, towering ruins, impenetrable jungles, and deserted steppes of this broad continent have encouraged an amazing variety of cultures to crop up, all inter-related yet inherently unique. It's no wonder it gained the reputation of the Far East, even though it does, in fact, lie to the west of Equestria. It is so like, and unlike, the tapestried land of Asteria. The native populations include the Inukami, distant relations of the Ghul Diamond Dogs, an amazing variety of very unusual looking dragons, and a surprising number of Qilin- Kirin who abandoned Neighpon for the mainland an inestimable time ago, not to mention the Gyphons who have moved into the area from Aquiline, in the north. However, Mane-Ji is by far the least explored of the continents, so who knows what else lays in hiding in the land without gods, the land that time forgot.

The pastoral home of the Gryphons, it is bordered by the massive, ancient mountains of Mane-Ji on the southwest, and sits across the thinnest section of the sea from Marecia and Prance. Famed for cuisine and culture, Aquiline has long been a popular destinations for lovers and artists alike.
