Why Should I Choose Beauxbatons?

Beauxbatons is nestled in the French countryside, and specializes in Charms and Healing. It encourages making connections with the Ministry and Convalescence, the hospital. It is open to anyone living in the area, as well as the muggleborns who live in the Durmstrang area. Schooling is done in French, and you may RP language barriers due to the diversity of languages. The castle is a short walk away from a muggle community, that all students may visit on weekends.

Students are sorted into their common rooms by an all-knowing cloak, based on whether they're cunning, ambitious, and diplomatic, or if they're compassionate, caring, and nurturing.

Beauxbatons has eight mandatory courses in the first three, and then four more courses that are added in fourth year. There are a variety of clubs to choose from. OWlS are taken in sixth year, and NEWTS are taken in seventh. Students are offered internships in the Ministry and Hospital for their sixth and seventh years.

Courses
-Charms
--Learn the skillful craft of charms
-Herbology
--Learn what plants do what, and the medicinal properties of plants
-Foreign Geography
--Necessary for anyone planning on going into the Ministry
-History of Magic
--Discussions of the Wizarding Wars and how they could have been prevented
-Care of Magical Creatures
--Learn how to take care of magical creatures
-Divination
--Search the future... for no real purpose but to have some fun
-Latin
--With people from all over Western Europe you need to talk to, it's good to have a common language. You know, since half the students don't speak the same language.
-Ancient Runes
--Old documents are good to read, and half the library's collection is in it.

Courses added in fourth year
-Healing
--Learn the art of healing
-Transfiguration
--Learn how to turn some things into other things!
-Potions
--Start brewing medical potions and apply everything you've learned in Herbology
-Foreign Affairs
--Learn the art of negotiation and how to handle conflict so you have the necessary skills to go into the Ministry!

Clubs
-Debate Team
--Because anyone planning a career in the Ministry needs to know how to debate without screaming at each other and swearing.
-Student Connections
--Organize events to give students connections with not only each other, but foreigners and the people who give out the jobs.
-Healing Team
--If you want to go into healing, you need practise. These are the really good ones who are offered internships.
