Set your stop watch - you have twenty minutes of free writing, write down whatever comes to you, it doesn't have to make any sense. The important thing with this exercise is that you write whatever comes to your mind. Don't dismiss anything.

After you have finished look over it and see if you have any ideas, the basis for a poem or a short story. This exercise is to get the ideas flowing

I do a variation on this one... its not bad... gets the ideas flowing and thats whats important, eh?
