Bee sighed lightly as she took a slip of her watermelon smoothie - made with no milk or anything, just watermelon, banana, water and honey - laid out in a patch of sun at the state park, not too far away from the rest of the Xavier group and directly next to her forever best friend, Alma. Bee stretched her legs, from the tips of her toes to her hips, letting out a contented sigh. "This is the life, right Al?" She asked, peering ove her dior sunglasses to look at her best friend and flatmate. "The sun, smoothies...fairly attractive males..." She cast an appreciative glance over the Xavier group. Yes, some were to old for her, and yes some were too young. But that didn't mean she couldn't appreciate the asthetics of such a large attractive group of people. "And of course, each other." She grinned, bumping her smoothie against Alma's, making sure to fix her aqua blue tie bikini top so she didn't expose herself to anyone, the top matched with a pair of denim cut off hotpants and black lowtop converse. "And even better, because we're both dark, we don't need to worry about sunscreen nearly as much!" She chirped with a grin on her pink tinted lips. "When's Angel getting here? Or did he have to cancel?" She asked, curiously. |

"I told him to surprise us," Alma said with a chuckle before taking a sip from her own smoothie - a Mexican-spiced smoothie of dark cocoa with a hint of spice from cayenne pepper that a coworker had introduced her to and she'd been practically addicted to ever since. Alma and Angel both had busy schedules, and neither had the personality to give the oher flak about having to arrive or leave get-togethers at different times. There was a certain ease to the way that it worked between the two of them. Alma shifted slightly on the blanket they were laying out on and adjusted the strap of fabric from her bathing suit top, a strappy red number with thin strands that criss-crossed her abdomen before disappearing under her white and red pinstripe shorts. "And your plus-one?" Alma teased with a grin, leaning her head on her best friend's shoulder. While she awaited an answer, Alma reflexively saw a volleyball whizzing in their direction from a group of students playing. Without missing a beat, she reached up and gave it a half-strength spike with the heel of her hand so it flew back towards one of the teenage girls who was chasing after it. "Thanks, Coach," the girl said as she caught the ball. "What are you and Miss LaReine doing?" "Uh, chaperoning?" Alma smirked with a graceful arch of her eyebrow. "What does it look like we're doing?" |

"Well, Blake doesn't know about the whole mutant thing, so I figured it was best to not bring him along, because you know how these things always turn out." Bee replied, a small smirk on her lips because they both knew Alma wasn't asking about Blake. But far be it from her to respond predictably. "Some poor normie will hit on one of us, an argument will break out and someone'll use their powers. Not exactly conductive to keeping a secret, y'know?" She laughed lightly as Alma effortlessly spike a renegade volleyball back towards the players, raising her smoothie cup in a 'bravo' gesture, before blinking at the student who asked such a silly question. "Yeah. Chaperoning. Duh!" She grinned, motioning around with a blase wave of one hand. The student looked a little confused, glancing to their obvious sunbathing posture, smoothies and the fact they both looked more suited to sunbathing with drinks than watching a bunch of kids and teens. But evidently, the power of BeMa was still discussed at the school, despite them having graduated almost 5 years ago now, because the girl just nodded and hesitantly wandered back to the game without another word, although she obviously had her doubts. "Honestly. Why else would we be here instead of at the beach or something with actual booze if we weren't chaperoning!" She exclaimed to Alma, laying back down on their blanket. |

"Of course," Alma said with a good-natured roll of her eyes. She owed her friend as much. As much as Bee had humored Alma and refrained from shaking her to her wits prior to her actually committing to Angel, Alma was in no position to speak a word against her friend doing what made her happy. After they had settled back down on the picnic blanket they'd laid out, Alma picked up her phone and glanced at it with a slight grimace before placing it back to the side, screen facing down. "Work," she said simply, wrinkling her nose in distaste. "When did we become boring adults?" Alma gave a small stretch and wriggled comfortably in the warmth of the sun. "Do you remember when we were still in school - the first time we came to one of these things and that one girl everyone hated pretended that her boob slipped out of her bikini top by accident just to get some attention?" |

"Speak for yourself..." Bee grinned, sticking her tongue out at her forever best friend. "My job is jetsetting to different countries and seeing the sights." It was true. As a flight attendent of a international and fancy airline, she often ended up in exotic countries for an overnight stay - although she rarely slept, unless she was in somewhere like Kuwait or Qatar (because even in the more westernised areas, it still wasn't exactly safe for her to be out and about. She attracted too much attention with her looks. It got to the point where she actually wore a headscarf when in those countries, just to avoid unwanted attention), and spent a large portion of her time partying or sightseeing. Also, their alcohol supply had never been so full, what with the amount of duty free she toted back after every shift. The same went for perfume and make up. Speaking of which. "Mm, I'm flying to Belarus on Monday - do you want me to grab that new Mac lipstick you saw? I'm getting another bottle of Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess too."
Bee shuddered at the thought. Not at the idea that it could happen to her because Bee was too proud of her body to have been embarassed about showing off her admittedly 5 star rack. But more because the whole thing just stank of desperation. "Ugh. Like anyone cared about seeing her saggy boob. That was so trashy." |

Ophelia hummed in thought, the tip of her pink tongue sticking out of her mouth at a side angle and she considered the next note. She lay, tentively content, basking in the sun, her head cushioned on Olivier's lap, honey blonde curls fanning across her brothers thighs, as she held her half filled sheet music up infront of her, twirling a pencil in one hand. She softly hummed the melody she'd already penned, stopping at an awkward point and chewing her lip. "Which sounds better Oli..?" She asked, humming a few bars of the melody, but instead of it stopping awkwardly, she added another three short, soft high notes. She then repeated the bars again but instead of the high notes, she let out a longer, slightly lower pitched note, that almost trilled upwards at the end. Over the last few years of staying at Xavier's her fashion sense had changed a little, although she still favoured soft, floaty dresses with lace and ribbons, she did vary it slightly - such as today, where she wore a pale blue lace trimmed cami and a pair of white denim shorts that made her legs look longer and more shapely than they really were, matched with blue canvas slipons, with a white bow at the front. Her personality, unlike her dress sense, had barely changed. Still shy, sweet and innocent, irrevocably damaged and co-dependent. Still spoiled and selfish when it came to Oli, not that anyone else knew it. "I want to get this perfect...it's going to be called 'Protection'." She nodded, smiling up at her brother. "And everytime I play it, it'll be like I'm playing it for you!" |

Bobby Drake wasn't a huge fan of the summer months, they were just warm and Bobby preferred the winter months, though most people would probably consider that to be a bit of an obvious statement. But Bobby loved any kind of event like this, anything where the residents of Xavier's could get together and spend time relaxing, having fun, especially away from the school. Bobby himself, didn't come here today for himself he came because there were kids so he could keep an eye on them but also so if they wanted to play a game. Of which Bobby had brought a cornhole set and was currently playing with a few of the kids. "Nice one Mason." Bobby gave the boy a high five as he got the little beanbag into the hole. |

"Second one," he said gently, slightly distracted. As his sister lay on his lap, he had his sketchpad off to the side as he attempted to draw a brief glimpse of the scene. It was nice being here with the others, having this sense of belonging, Olivier had decided a while back
At this, Olivier gave a small grin and allowed himself a full distraction from his work, putting aside the charcoal pencil and wiping away the black smudges un the side of his hands from drawing before leaning back on his arms and turn his face upwards towards the sun. "You could play Mary Had A Little Lamb transposed into minor keys and it would still sound amazing, Lia," Oli said, not facetious at all - he genuinely felt that his sister was one of the most talented people he had ever met. At times, he almost felt guilty for, among perhaps other things, the fact that he'd gotten his big break. He didn't consider himself the more talented one between himself and his sister, just perhaps the luckier of the pair. Speaking of guilt, Olivier tensed slightly when he felt his phone in his pocket vibrate with an alert. He was fairly sure of who it was coming from, but if it were someone of importance, he certainly didn't show it. "I swear," he chuckled dismissively. "I signed a petition once on campus - everyone's circulating them - and now I think I've been signed up for every text mailing list in the Tri-State area. It's ridiculous." |

At his instant reply of the second choice of melody, Lia nodded and hummed it once more, a little slower this time, as she captured the notes on her sheet music. "Done for now!" She chirped, folding the piece of paper up and slipping it into Oli's bag - unless she was going to class, she rarely brought a bag with her anywhere, due to her knowing Oli always had a bigger bag than her and didn't mind sharing. She slipped her pencil into his bag aswell, in an outer pocket, and looked upwards at him, as he leaned back and tilted his head downwards so he could look at her.
Lia let out a small 'pfft' noise. Unlike Oli, she didn't see herself as insanely talented or even just really good. There was always something that needed improving upon, something that needed to be better, to be perfect. And that was all Lia wanted. To be able to create perfection. And she pushed herself towards it, and it showed in the circle under her eyes and the constant faint bruising under her chin and on her shoulder, from holding her instrument in place. It showed in her bleeding fingertips on her left hand, each one wrapped in a thin bandage. When Oli's phone vibrated in his pocket, she felt like it rattled her brain a little, what with her head being on his lap, caramel coloured curls fanning out around her elfin like face. She pursed her lips a little, eyes curious, with one eyebrow raised. Oli didn't do texting, unless it was with her. He didn't do phonecalls either. Neither did she. At his explaination of the mailing list, she nodded in understanding. "Ah, that makes sense. I was wondering who'd been texting you recently. Those silly mailing lists don't know when to stop, do they?" She smiled a little before her eyes were draw towards the treeline, mostly due to a kid, maybe 13, running towards it, being chased by their friends. "Oi! Keep out of the woods. I'm not wasting my time searching them when you guys get lost." A oddly accented voice called out - which was saying something, considering Ophelia and Oliviers odd mix of Australian, French and American. - a mix of French, Spanish and American, belonging to one of the two beautiful exotic girls who sat sun bathing on a blanket near the lake itself. The girls were stunning, no doubt about it, and Lia had specifically chosen a spot fairly far away from them, both for her own confidence and because she didn't want Oli distracted by the long caramel coloured legs of one of them, or the larger than average chest of the other. The students peeled away from the edge of the forest, still laughing, but Ophelia's eyes stayed, her gaze wide, pupils like pinpricks, breath frozen in her chest, lips parted in fear. Because she could have sworn she'd seen him, in the shadows cast by the long tree branches, that looked more and more like spindley arms with crooked needle tipped fingers. Slowly, without her even noticing really, her right hand went to her left wrist, twisting and fingering the light scarring that had been around both her wrists and ankles since the hospital, when the restraints bit into her skin enough to bleed. "O-Oli..." She whispered, her nails now digging into the damaged skin around her wrist. "The trees....he's in the trees." |

Nezhno looked around at the park as he smiled softly. It was weird how much his life had changed. 3 years ago he was in Africa afraid of what he was and now he was a Senior at Xavier's, Living in New York and was about 2 weeks from turning 18. His life was doing good, and the last time he had called his mother she was dong great which always made Nezhno happy. Nezhno wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He saw all the options but really all of them had a lot of people doing them and he still wasn't too keen to large crowds. Not that he hadn't gotten use to a classmate or made a good friend or two but for the most part even now he kept to himself. Nezhno was sure part of that came from the fact that even though he went to a mutant school he never still felt like he quite fit in, because as far as he knew he was the only student not allowed to use his powers as often as others. Granted, he understood why, his powers could kill him and the teachers thought it best he didn't use them, but it still made him feel away from people. That being said the few friends he had made meant the world to him. As he looked over at the volleyball net he watched the ball escape from them and thought to go get it when he saw two women laying there and hit it back. Nezhno walked towards the net as he passed the two women, looking at them perhaps a second too long before he kept on walking. Not in a gawking manner...at least he hoped not Nezhno made his way to the court as he saw both sides even and chose to wait on the sidelines. Eventually someone got bored and Nezhno asked to join. Moving to one side of the net he began to play. Things were good until about 10 minutes later when the ball was hit farther and Nezhno yelled. "I got it!" Nezhno backed up quickly, his eyes in the sky as he ran backwards before bumping nto something...or someone. Nezhno forgot the game quickly as he turned to look at what or who he had bumped into. "I'm so sorry!' |

| Ridley Aran | Jul 7 2018, 01:54 PM Post #12 |

Why was he here? If a telepath peaked in there would be no answer really. Only the confusion of someone who had long been an enigma in the history of the institute. History with a large group of them, a history that was long forgotten to new days...new friends. But Ridley Aran would also remain on the earth, at least until someone ended his life or he found himself a bit too arrogant. So when Nezhno had backed up looking to get the ball from a stray hit, the form he hit was the older more grizzled form of Ridley Aran himself. He had many names back in the day, but truth was...there was a chance barely anyone here knew him or knew his past with the mansion. The time he had saved Ava, his troubled relationship with Taryn...his rivalries with students that were far more violent than they needed to be. If Nezhno turned to look he'd find the stern almost barbaric features of a man who was almost annoyed it had happened but he hadn't appeared to the party yet, having landed elsewhere and taken a different route. Yet a smile would soon appear as he patted the man on a clothed shoulder, if it was clothed and smirk. The ball in his hand now, having been caught with the man who had bumped in him nearly having gotten it. "Close." He'd hand the ball forward to the man. "Where's the food and drink? I'm in dire need of a beer." He'd pat the man again gently before walking towards the rest of them. Eyes taking note of a blonde who seemed to be nervous off in the distance but figured it wasn't his business, instead looking around for familiar faces. |

"Miss Rogue, can I go on the merry-go-round?!" "Well, of course ya can, sugar," Rogue laughed, reaching a gloved hand over to smooth a hand over the hair of the young girl next to her. Kiley Nichols, truth be told, didn't need supervision, but the young girl who had come to the Institute after the explosive manifestation of her powers - creating a small explosion of kinetic energy in order to avoid being hit by a car driven by a drunk driver one day - had clung to Rogue like a sister or mother figure ever since. "I won't hurt nobody?" "Nope." "I won't get in trouble?" "No trouble at all - I can see ya from right here, sweetie," Rogue beamed. "Anythin' starts to look fishy, Miss Rogue'll come running. That's a promise." Sufficiently comforted, the young girl dashed towards the merry-go-round, glancing over her shoulder at Rogue a few times as she went. Rogue then sat on a nearby park bench in the shade, crossing her legs and shifting her hair. It certainly was less than pleasant to be covered up practically from head to toe in the current weather, but it was part of the package. Rogue had, at the very least, grown accustomed to it by now. After sitting, she looked over and noticed that Bobby Drake, too, was nearby and clearly taking his chaperoning duties very seriously. She gave him a small smile and a wave before hearing Kiley's voice from across the park. "Miss Rogue, lookit!" the little girl yelled, loud enough for Rogue to hear. She looked over in time to see Kiley on the merry-go-round, zooming past while riding a figure of a bear in a train conductor costume. "I made it!" |

Kyle smiled as he slowly got down on one knee to look at his twins. It was hard to imagine they were almost 10. Of course when he had woke up with no memories 3 years ago it had been hard. Learning he had twins to take care of and a wife he couldn't recall having. Now though he couldn't imagine his life without either of them. The first challenge had been learning sign language. Learning that his son was deaf and Caleb had no clue how to talk to him. Now though, Kyle, Caeyln and Caleb were all fluent in it. "Have fun...and behave." Kyle signed to both of them as they ran off to play. He kept a close eye on them. If they were all he had left he didn't want anything to happen to them. The other thing Kyle had worked on over the last 3 years were refixing some older relatioships from his past. He didn't recall a lot of them and Winry had helped put him in contact with some of them but for the most part it hadn't gone good. Except for one. Kyle looked at the person coming towards him as he smiled. "Hey. glad you showed up." |

"Hey yourself stranger." Aiko grinned as she strolled up to him, in a pair of cut off denim shorts that showed her long, pale, slim legs and a vest top, with a loose thin jumper tossed over the top, sliding off one shoulder. Behind her, a little girl skipped, her jet black hair pulled into a ponytail and secured with a ribbon, shorts and a tank top, mimicing her mothers outfit somewhat. Hope, at age 4, was a bundle of energy who chattered non-stop, in both English and Japanese, like a little bird. "Well, I haven't seen people from the school in forever, so I figured it'd be a good reunion." She explained, pushing her long black locks over her shoulders. She liked chatting with Kyle. Despite his memory loss, they had an easy friendship, filled with jokes, with Aiko jogging his memory of their linked past. Hope stood at her mothers side, looking up at Kyle with a charming little grin on her doll like face. "Kaa-san, can I go play?" "Un. But stay away from the water and where I can see you ok Hime?" She warned, her eyes straying around the park. One of the biggest downsides of her job was that a lot of places were tainted for her. For instance, just one mile West of their location, she'd once had to process a particularly violent crime scene. It made her wary to let her pride and joy out of sight for even a few seconds. "Un!" Hope nodded, tilting her head forward obligingly, so Aiko could tap the back of her neck. "All good?" "Mmhm. All good." She smiled, and Hope bounced off happily. It wasn't something she was proud of, placing her own personalised software in her child but what with her past, Shinji still at large and her current job, Aiko wanted to be safe. ArchAngel, as Aiko had named it, tracked Hope and sent a detailed report to Aiko's smartphone. It recorded her blood pressure, glucose levels and adrenaline, along with an exact location. All turned on by a simple nudge of her technopath power. "So how have you been?" |

Kyle let a bigger smile out when the women walking towards him replied. Kyle looked at his outfit. Just a simple pair of jean shorts and a tank top. "Well don't I feel..like a lazy dresser....then again you've always looked better than me from what I hear." He said as he turned to look at the twins. It seemed weird but he always had them dressed up nice and clean and presentable even when they were in simple clothes like now. But when it came to himself..Kyle just didn't care. Like he still cared about hygine clearly. He didn't smell or anything just..didn't care about dressing himself up..which was something he wondered about the old him. Looking at the little girl behind her Kyle smiled and gave a small wave. "Hello." As Aiko talked Kyle looked back at her and listened. When Kyle had first talk to Aiko he had ben worried. Someone had told him him and Aiko had been friends or at least talked with each other here and there. So Kyle of course decided to see if they were still friends or what had happen there. Aiko had filled him in on a lot of things about his past. And their past as friends and soon Kyle found it really easy to talk to her. It was kind of like with Winry, the way they joked and talked it just all came natrual to him so now this way he acted, how he handled himself it just seemed like this was who Kyle was now, and he liked hear. "Yeah its a beautiful park. Makes me wonder why I've never brought the twins out here." Kyle looked around to see if he really knew anyone else here yet before looking back at her. "Anyone your looking forward to seeing?" Kyle shrugged with a smirk. "Beside me of course." When Hope spoke and asked to play and Aiko gave her ok, Kyle pointed over to where the twins were. "Caleb and Caeyln are over there if you want to join them." Kyle watched as Hope leaned over and Aiko tapped her neck. Watching the girl walk off Kyle looked back at Aiko. Eyebrow raised but then thought better about asking. Every family had their own things and who was he to question it.
Kyle looked to see the kids were out of earshot as he heard Aiko questions. "Same shit different day." He said turning to face her as he leaned on a picnic table. "3 years relearning your life is exahusting though." Kyle looked over his shoulder at the twins and smiled. "But I like it. I learned I have a business. Like someone thought I was responsible enough to run something." Kyle had went in for a meeting not to long ago and had decided to let the board keep running things. After all what did he know about running a business? Kyle shook his head and smiled looking at her. "And you?" |

Of course, Aiko noticed Kyle's questioning look at Aiko tapping the back of Hope's neck. "Hope's a potential kidnapping risk because of my father. He fucked a lot of people over and they have long arms with dirty fingers. So she has a tracker. It's the safest way to allow her to live a normal life without body guards." She explained with a shrug. "It's not perfect, but I prefer her safe and happy. It doesn't effect her at all, and she's used to it by now." When he asked how she was, she shrugged. "Just happy to be out of the labs. Nice to smell fresh air and bbq smoke rather than disinfectent, chemicals and have images other than gruesome crime scene photos around me." She grinned. Aiko loved her job, loved helping solve crimes and dish out justice. But it was mentally exhausting. So much death and cruelty in the world. "The twins are growing up wonderfully." Aiko mentioned, smiling at the pair. "I remember when they were tiny little things. Crazy how time flies, huh?" |

When Aiko began to explain the thing with Hope neck he nodded. He wasn't going to ask about it but she had answered it anyway. "Hey if it works right?" Kyle said looking at the twins. He didn't know what he would do without them. To wake up one morning and them just be gone. It would destroy him. He really only knew them for the last 3 years but they had been the bst of his life. As he looked at the kids playing he ran a hand through his ear. "She's very cute." Kyle said as he looked to the twins then back at her. As he sat at the picnic table he listened about her work. "Your like a...evidence person right?" Kyle said as he took a deep breath. "Like a C.S.I. thing?" Kyle said hoping he was in the right ball park. Kyle didn't know how she could do a job like that. The things she must have seen in her career. Kyle knew now that he finished school he had a big choice to make. He knew he wanted to work with the law, but he was having a hard time picking just how he wanted to do that. And beside not being able to pick one he was also conflicted about being to busy and missing out on more of the twins lives. Kyle turned to look at the children when Aiko spoke again and although he knew she didn't mean it that way he knew the grin on his face had wore off. "I'm glad someone does." Kyle said as he turned to look at her. "And I don't mean that in a mean way I really am glad someone knows wha they were like as little ones. All I have is stories and pictures." Kyle said as he shook his head. "So what's on the Aiko and Kyle memory train today? Anything else you can remember about me?" Kyle said with a small chuckle. |

Aiko nodded a little. "Aa! A Criminalist! Unsung heroes of the NYPD." She grinned a little at that. She joked of course. Sure, a lot of crimes would never be solved without her and her colleagues, but they only did the science. The brain work. She wouldn't want to help with the actual detectives every day. She'd done so once, when they were investigating at a high tech lab, and the detectives needed someone with them who knew what to do, due to it being a lockdown case, with the detectives not able to leave due to time constraints, and due to the fact sensitive data had been stolen along with a brutal murder of 3 scientists, once her and the two detectives - Sanchez and Rhodes, who she worked with a lot and she admitted she felt a coddled, being with two men who doted on her and had obvious soft spots in their hardened hearts just for her - were in, the shutters came down and no one went in or out for 36 hours. Now Aiko had nerves of steel and wasn't worried or freaked out, but she just...didn't like it. "But yeah....it's a little like CSI, but less dramatic. We don't really question the suspects or conduct interviews. Sometimes we listen in, but that's it." She explained, as she was used to doing, what with everyone thinking her job was straight from the Vegas TV show.
Aiko could have kicked herself. It was just a natural thing to say when seeing kids so grown up. But of course it was stupid and insensitive, what with Kyle not being able to remember their birth. "I'm sorry Ky...that was so f*cking stupid of me." She told him with an honestly apologetic face. However, when he moved topics to something cheerier, she brightened up, remembering what she had planned to tell him next. "OK so...this is so weird to leave for 3 years but it slipped my mind that you like...didn't remember, if that makes sense?" She asked with a half grin. "So back in high school, like, in 2006 or 2007....we dated." She told him with a raise of her eyebrows. "For like, 9 months or something. It never went past like, making out and some over the clothes stuff, but yeah." She grinned cheekily at him. "Want to know how we got together?" |

Lia whimpered a little at that, nodding, eyes still on the tree line. She hated when he used that voice. It made her feel like he was annoyed or angry at her. He probably should be. After all, she was so weak and such a cry baby. She constantly ruined things for him. "I-I took them...like I always do, I promise..." Her voice was watery as she swallowed back tears and pure and utter terror.
When her brother came into her eyeline, moving to sit directly in front of her, obstructing her unblinking view of the woods, she whimpered a little, as if now she wasn't staring at it, it could get her, before she allowed herself to listen to his words. His tone had softened a little, and it didn't twist her stomach as much. "I'm listening..." She whispered, finally closing her eyes softly, leaning forward to rest her forehead on Oli's clavical and breastbone. "He's not here. He's not here. I'm safe and he can't get me. He's not here. You won't let him take me, he can't have me. He can't have me." She whispered brokenly to herself, her normal mantra when these things happened. When her breaths evened out and she was now only shivering, instead of shaking like a leaf, she let out a sniffle. "I'm sorry Oli. I don't....I don't know what happened." She pulled back a little, to dab at her eyes. "I...I could have sworn he was there." |

Shelby had no idea why in the hell she had decided to come to this thing, it wasn’t like she had many friends and she rarely saw Jubes. Her best friend was dead and she was stuck taking care of his club which was her club and the kids. Things weren’t the best in her life, Stevie dying had thrown her into a deep depression that she was trying to claw her way out of now. She knew she mush have had some kind of mental break down as she kept seeing Balt in her mind. He was where ever she was and he was usually giving her some kind of shit. Shelby closed her eyes at the sun and pulled down her shades as she rolled the stroller with Matt and Ruth in it. They we’re sleepy awake, for some reason they loved car rides and it put them to sleep. She had all theybwould need she hopped attached to the stroller, she took a look around she felt a disconnect from everything here. She saw Bee, Alma and the twins around the way. She could also see Mr. Drake, she shifted and sighed she didn’t know where she quite fit in here. Seriously Shelby I don’t get why you just didn’t go get some food instead of putting yourself through this. Shelby wanted to tell him in his bright tank top and board short to shut the hell up, but there were people around and well it was fine and dandy when she didn’t know then this was different. Balt chuckled at her, he was so annoying he knew what she was thinking and he was so annoying. Edited by Shelby Sloss, Jul 8 2018, 08:20 PM.

"I'll be back in a bit Al..." Bee said to her stunning best friend, climbing to her feet, leaving her watermelon smoothie next to her spot on the blanket, slipped her feet into her flip flops. She hurried across the grass, avoiding frisbees and running kids, stopping in front of the blonde widow and her twins. "Hey Shel...I didn't think you'd be here." She said with a soft smile, giving the girl a light hug, bending down to the twins stroller and giving each a soft kiss on the forehead. "Hey there cuties." She stood up and pushed her curls over her shoulders, pushing her designer sunglasses up to hold her thick locks back from her face. "How you doing? I was planning on coming over tomorrow to see you." She had no idea how Shelby managed to keep going. Loosing Balt and Stevie hit Bee herself in the gut hard, and she had sobbed herself to sleep multiple times. Two of her best friends, gone. She knew it was harder for Shelby. Her wife and her closest friend. Both gone. Bee didn't know what she'd do if she lost Alma. She'd never say it, in case it sounded empty or touched nerves, but she admired the girl in front of her so much. She kept on going, being a terrific mother. "It's good you came today, the twins'll have fun...I think Mrs Mitchell brought Hope, and there's a few other kids running about for them to play with." She motioned over to Alma on the blanket. "If you want, you can come sit with me and Al for a while. Till the little cuties are a bit more awake?" She offered. |

Shelby wasn’t gonna lie she let out a relived sigh as soon as she saw Bee approach her, she thought that maybe they were friends now but she would never think to say that or invite herself to just roll up on her when she was with Alma. Bee had been Stevie’s friend and Shelby respected that even now. “There was an overly nagging voice in my head telling me to come.” She was glad that the twins had someone like Bee who had also known Stevie and could tell them all about their mother besides her. Damn Bee still looks good, you think she would hit it with a dead guy or a widow ? Shelby cut her eyes over to her smirking best friend he was such an ass. “ I figured they needed to get out of the house, it’s been a while since we left the school. I know you’re busy Bee you don’t have to come see us.” This was something Shelby was working on letting others in and not to push them away per her therapist instructions. “ Thank you that would be nice, will Alma mind? I don’t want to impose on you both if you’re busy.” She didn’t want to let the kids out of her sight just yet, she was very protective of them since Stevie died. |

Bee chuckled lightly at that, obviously believing it to be a joke. No doubt, if she'd known Shelby was talking to Balt in her mind, she'd have been more concerned by the off the cuff comment. "Well, I'm glad you listened. It'll be a fun day, I'm sure!" At Shelby's worried about Alma minding the small families presence, she shook her head. "It'll be fine. We were just sunbathing and making sure none of the kids hurt themselves or each other." She grinned, motioning with her head towards her and Alma's blanket. "I just got home last night from a layover in Paris - for whatever reason, we ended up getting a disney land hotel cause it was last minute and all the usual hotels were full and it was the only place that could take us. So we obviously had a trip to the park and I got the cutest outfits for the kids!" Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse costumes to be specific, complete with ears that had their names on them. "Shel and the kids are gonna join for a bit Al." Bee explained with a grin, sitting back on her spot and taking a sip of her smoothie. "I was just telling Alma I'm flying to Belarus next and seeing if she wanted anything from duty free. How about you Shel?" |
