Real name: Nathaniel (Nate) Grey
Codename/Other Aliases: X-Man

Personal

Preferred OOC Username: Dennis
Email Address: wvchemteach@gmail.com
IM/AIM/YIM/MSN Username: Y!Messenger: wvchemteach

Physical

Age: 4 (artificially aged to the equivalent of a 21 year old)
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 150 lbs.
Hair: Brown (with white streak)
Eyes: Blue

General Appearance: Nate is above average height and quite slender. His most distinguishing features is the shock of white hair in his otherwise brown and the tattoos on his face, marking him to those who know as a hound of Ahab's. Additionally, his back is criss-crossed with scars which resulted in his torture at the hands of Ahab when he broke his conditioning, although he rarely allows anyone to see those, instead he stays swallowed up in the standard issue jumpsuit all detainees wear.

When not collared Nate's left eye sparkles with psionic energy. When fully engaging his powers often his hair will sway as if caught in a breeze.

Personal

Known relatives: Genetic son of Jean Grey and Scott Summers - Recognizes Jean Grey as his mother based on computer simulation used to β€œraise” him by Ahab.
Group affiliation: Containment Camp, Bronx, NY
Mutant Powers: Astral Plane Tap: (Astral Travel, Material Astral Projection) Telepathy: (Intuitive multilingual, Psychometry, Dimensional Sense, Precognition, Power amplification) Immense Telekinesis (Flight, Force fields, Telekinetic holograms, Invisibility, Concussive blasts, Intangibility, Electromagnetic pulses, Dimensional teleportation, Healing) Psionic Evolution (Physical reconstitution, physical possession) -> potential hasn't achieved this last one yet

AU Strengths and Weaknesses: Much more fragile psyche due to the conditioning to be a hound and overwhelming guilt over what he did while under Ahab's control.

History: Pain, Nate Grey's earliest memories are of pain. The first year of his existence was inside a nutrient pod where his body was forced to grow from an embryo to a fully mature 18 year old body.

Once the physical pain ended the psychological pain began. For the next year his mind was bombarded around the clock by the technology of his pod and "programed" to be Ahab's crowning jewel, the ultimate Hound, tasked with hunting down his fellow mutants, leading sentinels to them to destroy them..

The only peace he achieved during this time was the image his teacher took. That of Jean Grey, one of his genetic donors. As he learned more about his powers and their use he began reaching out telepathically, hoping to touch the mind of the one that had become so dear to him. To his dismay, the entire time he was in the pod he never found her.

Three hundred and sixty-five days later his world expanded in ways he never imagined. His pod opened and immediately he was fitted for his life's existence. He was dressed in black leather with studs his face was tattooed with the marks of the Hound.

He was given a tough first assignment. Track down Warren Worthington III, or Death, as he was now called. Much to Ahab's delight the first assignment went off without a hitch and many more followed.

A disturbing trend emerged. Each subsequent assignment targeted younger and younger mutants, many of whom lacked any sort of power to defend themselves. Nate began having doubts, but in the end lacked the willpower to break his conditioning.

That is until, finally, one day during one of his telepathic sweeps he found her. It was a momentary brush, but for one fleeting moment he made contact with his "mother" Jean Grey. There was an enormous backlash as fragments of her memories assaulted him. While most of the memories didn't mean much to him, fragmented as they were, he did recognize Warren Worthington III in them and realized his "mother" must have known him.

From that point on the missions became more and more difficult, not because his quarry were difficult to track or put up much of a fight, in fact it was quite the opposite. He watched mutant after mutant slaughtered for no better reason than a circumstance of birth. What made it more difficult was now he cared, he had sympathy and their eyes haunted him in his dreams.

The next turning point came during the apprehension and disposal of a pair of mutants, Rusty Collins and Sally Blevins. Nate "knew" them or at very least had memories of the pair in happier times, learning to control their powers from his psychic brush with his mother. With every fiber of his being he tried to break free from his programming. He failed.

The final step came during the pursuit of a mutant named Laurie Collins. For the first time, something broke free in Nate and he acted. He lashed out with the full breadth of his power, smashing the Sentinels to scrap. What he didn't count on was a backup squadron immediately attacking and overpowering him, capturing the both of them.

He awoke to her screams. He watched in terror as Ahab personally stripped flesh from her body. The only break in her screams were his own cries of pain as Ahab lashed him repeatedly with a scourge. Finally, in desperation he exploded with psionic power and had he struck with his telepathy, shutting down the mind of his tormentor he might have won, but instead he wanted the satisfaction of tearing him apart with his telekinesis. That mistake cost both he and Laurie dearly as Ahab activated the inhibitor collar he'd been fitted with.

Next was the single worst experience of Nate's life. He found himself strapped to a table, feet tilted up and Laurie strapped above him. Ahab surgically sliced her wrist which was tied just above her head. For the next hour he watched the life drain from Laurie's eyes as her blood dripped onto his forehead.

Since then Nate has lived in a 5 foot by 5 foot cell and every night he's tortured by the image of Laurie dying in his dreams. The previous day he was outfitted with a detainee jumpsuit. He knows it is only a matter of time before he's dumped into one of the Mutant Detainment Camps.

Sample RP

Every night when he slept he saw lifeless blue eyes. They stare accusingly at him. He knew now that his entire existence was a lie. He's not a man, he's a monster, created in some test tube to hunt down mutants, to see them slaughtered.

At night they haunted him. He heard the screams. He stood transfixed as the realization of death occurred. He cried in his sleep over their broken bodies. He awoke every night screaming. And the blood, he could never seem to wash the blood from his face and hands.

He knew that soon he'll be surrounded by them. Ahab had told him as much. He would be surrounded by the loved ones, the friends of those he helped murder. Part of him wanted to confess his crimes and accept whatever death they found fitting, but he was afraid. He was afraid of what awaited him in death.

Would he have to pay for his sins, for his crimes against all decency?

That fear at first was all that kept him sane. Then he realized, it wasn't over, while it didn't happen often, mutants did escape from the camps, he'd hunted them down himself. If he could escape, if he could get that inhibitor collar off he could make them pay. The Sentinels, Ahab, the people who built them. He could make them all pay for causing him to exist.
