Yeah, Laynia would take them, she was sure. Or if she wasn't still around, probably some of her team of almost exclusively teleporters still were. One of them would probably be willing to drop them off then come back and get them later. Heck, if Yana was still around, she could do it, too, and Kitty was sure she wouldn't mind, either, but she didn't think she remembered seeing her right before she left.

Well, she'd check if she went back down.

Bobby, though, was just kinda nodding, looking like he was lost in thought there for a few seconds. He didn't...well, he didn't seem particularly thrilled with the idea of just teleporting over, despite it being the easiest, probably safest (if there was such a thing these days) way to probably do it. But, then, feelings weren't always about being safe or practical, and this was definitely something that was about feelings.

The need to deal with them, the need to maybe experience them. So...maybe he didn't want the trip there to be fast, or easy or safe. The idea made her a little nervous, she had to admit. It was too much like some of the things she'd thought and felt herself, but...well, sometimes you had to do what you had to do and she didn't want him to do it this way just because of her.

If he'd rather go in Johnny's car or by ice slide, they'd just have to be extra careful. But they could do it, god knew they'd done crazier things and lived through them. And who knew, maybe it would be good for her, too, for it not to be that quick and clean and easy to get back to that place.

So, if he'd rather drive or ice slide, it was okay. It would take longer, but they had plenty of time and this was more his journey than hers. She wanted him to do it however he felt like he needed to.

He shook his head, though, and sent her a comforting smile. "Nah, it's fine. No point drawing attention right now." He smiled crookedly and stroked his hand over her back. "I just - sometimes I kind of miss being able to hop in the car and drive, y'know?" He grinned a little and shrugged and she nodded, dropping her eyes a little. Yeah, she understood. There were a lot of things she missed being able to do, too, and now she felt bad for bringing up the teleporters. It wasn't that big a deal and she already had plenty to feel guilty about without adding this. "Not that Johnny and I never do it, because we do. But having to worry about Sentinels zeroing in takes something out of the whole experience."

She let out a soft laugh that came out more as a snort. Yeah, that had put a damper on a lot of things. Things like walking out the front door without a bunch of tech to mask you from the marauding death bots who wanted to blow you up for just existing.

"Yeah, they're kind of a pain in the butt," she agreed, frowning thoughtfully down at the floor for a few seconds before an idea struck her. Maybe Johnny's care was kinda conspicuous, but she knew something that wasn't, if it was still around. If they'd brought it here.

Looking up again, she smiled over at him and stood up, tugging at his hand. "C'mon, though, I've got an idea," pausing briefly, she shrugged one shoulder,"Or I might, if Remy or anybody thought to bring it from however many hideouts you've been through since...well, since I haven't been here."

Weird to think she didn't even know that. It was still only yesterday for her, but it was easier to just not think about that part mostly.

Kitty's eyes dropped towards the ground as he mentioned missing ways to get places that didn't involve rounding up a spare teleporter and begging a ride, and Bobby suppressed an urge to kick himself. Just a couple of days before, her time, she'd nearly been killed by Sentinels. He really had no business asking her to even come along, let alone whining about the method of getting there.

She'd seemed okay since they'd gotten back from Wakanda, though. Enthused (and maybe a little apprehensive) about whatever it was she was working on with Ramsey, still more enthused about the uniform she'd helped cook up for Veil. Hell, she'd gone on a mission with Gloria and Illyana that afternoon.

Which - yeah, okay. That hadn't gone all that well, had it? Maybe roadtrip by teleporter was definitely the way to go.

She let out a snort at his comment about Sentinels taking all the fun out of trips, though her eyes didn't leave the floor. "Yeah, they're kind of a pain in the butt," she acknowledged, but she frowned, almost as if she was thinking of something. Probably the Sentinels which, yeah. Tact wasn't exactly his forte tonight, was it?

"Look, it's no big deal," he assured her, hand stroking her back as he looked at her, concerned. "We'll talk to Laynia or something, catch a ride." A roadtrip could wait. Hell, the whole thing could wait, for that matter, if she was going to get upset. They could talk here just as easily, and he...

Well, he could deal. He'd managed this far, tonight, despite everything that had seemingly dumped down from all directions. The ruins of the mansion would still be there tomorrow, or next week.

Kitty looked up, though, and smiled as if she'd had a sudden brainstorm of some kind. Getting up, she tugged at his hand. "C'mon, though, I've got an idea," pausing briefly, she shrugged one shoulder,"Or I might, if Remy or anybody thought to bring it from however many hideouts you've been through since...well, since I haven't been here."

"Huh?" he replied as he got to his feet, feeling more confused than ever. "Umm, three, I think. Hideouts. Four if you count the crappy motel with the rats that we stayed at for a few days while Remy scoped out something better, but I'm still trying to block that out." What that had to do with anything he had no clue, but at least that part was making sense. The part about not having thought to bring something along, not so much, unless she'd thought of something she wanted to take with her. He looked over at her, quirking one eyebrow curiously, and smiled as he added, "Do I want to know what you're up to?"

Yeah, the whole Sentinel thing, with them trying to blast them all to separate molecules, was kind of a pain. That was for sure. It was also putting it pretty mildly.

"Look, it's no big deal," he assured her, hand stroking her back as he looked at her, concerned. "We'll talk to Laynia or something, catch a ride." He meant it, she knew that. Or at least he meant most of it, but something told her it was kind of a big deal to him. He didn't want to do it via teleporter, and who was she to say he had to do it differently? It was his trip, she was just kinda along for the ride.

It wasn't worth him being upset or disappointed and she didn't want that, either. It had been a pretty good day and night so far. One of the better ones she could remember recently and it wasn't like she hadn't put herself, and other people, too, in worse danger than just what relatively little they'd probably face on an hour's drive or so to Westchester. No point spoiling it over something like that that would just make her feel guilty and him feel disappointed.

This would be hard enough without adding that to the mix.

So, no, the teleporter was out and she shook her head, brow furrowed in thought as another idea came to her. One that brought a smile to her face. Maybe it was long shot, but it seemed like a better alternative to driving Johnny's car or ice sliding. Provided, that was, that Remy or someone had thought to bring it along through...however many hideouts they'd been through since she and the Proteans vanished.

It was surprising and gave her another of those weird, hollow feelings to realize she didn't even know that. That she had no idea how many places they'd been through since the last one she remembered, but Kitty kept the smile on her face all the same as she stood up and tugged at Bobby's hand, trying to urge him to his feet, too.

"Huh?" he replied as he got to his feet, feeling more confused than ever. "Umm, three, I think. Hideouts. Four if you count the crappy motel with the rats that we stayed at for a few days while Remy scoped out something better, but I'm still trying to block that out." Four. Four completely different places that she'd completely missed. Three if you didn't count the rat motel and she wrinkled her nose sympathetically at that. But, right, not thinking about right now, because she could only deal with so much at once. Instead, she focused on the way Bobby was lifting a curious eyebrow her way and smiling in that way that said 'you officially aren't making any sense', "Do I want to know what you're up to?"

Hmm...well, he as gonna have to know some time, right? And she should probably at least ask if what she was thinking of was still around, so they wouldn't have to come back for Johnny's car keys if it wasn't.

"Maybe?" she told him teasingly, tugging him toward the door now that she'd managed to get him on his feet. "You remember Logan's motorcycle? The big black one? We still had it at the last hideout." Pausing, she wrinkled her nose again and sighed, "Or the last one I remember, anyway. If anybody bothered to keep bringing it along, it'll probably be faster, and I'm guessing less conspicuous, than Johnny's car."

At least from what he'd said about the great Johnny Storm Franken-Car. And, well, it'd be kind of a nice compromise between driving and ice sliding in a way. Still not exactly the safest thing, ever, but they'd manage. They usually did.

Four hideouts. Well three, really - he wasn't sure that camping out for a few days in a motel so small it wasn't even part of a chain counted, especially since everyone had spent half their time taking pot shots at the rats. Hard to believe they'd moved so many times while she was gone - harder still for her to believe, probably, considering that she likely still thought of HQ as the place they'd moved into after the one over the bar.

Still, time loss didn't explain what, exactly, had her jumping up and tugging at his arm, talking about something they may or may not have left behind. He couldn't imagine what she'd want to take along, and he was pretty sure an image inducer wouldn't change the appearance of Johnny's car well enough for it to stand up to any kind of scrutiny. Of course, there was also the possibility that he didn't want to know what she was up to, as he pointed out as he let her tug him to his feet.

"Maybe?" she said teasingly, tugging him towards the door. He rolled his eyes and wrinkled his nose at her, still looking expectant. She wasn't going to make him guess, was she? That would just be evil...

"You remember Logan's motorcycle? The big black one? We still had it at the last hideout." He nodded, still confused, as she paused to wrinkle her nose. "Or the last one I remember, anyway. If anybody bothered to keep bringing it along, it'll probably be faster, and I'm guessing less conspicuous, than Johnny's car."

"Man, I can't remember the last time I rode that thing," he admitted as he followed her to the door. Three years? Longer? He'd never been great at it, though he'd taken it out a few times. He shook his head to give the suggestion that the bike was long gone as well, then glanced over at her sidelong, lips twitching. "Maybe you'd better drive."

It wasn't a bad idea, at that. She was right about it being less conspicuous than Johnny's car, not to mention him ice sliding. Besides, if she drove, he could blast anything that picked them up on its radar. Except...

"Are you sure you're okay with it?" he asked as they went out into the hall. "It's still more risky than flagging down a teleporter and hitching a ride."

He had to admit, though, it felt "right", somehow. Even if it wasn't as fast, as safe, or as practical. Besides, they wouldn't have to worry about being "done" in time for anyone to come pick them up.

Logan's bike. She hadn't thought of it in a while. There was always something comforting about knowing it was with them, in the HQ hideout where ever it might be. A little piece of Logan, still around, maybe.

But that was two years ago, even if she'd rather not think about that. Would they have even bothered to bring it with them through the at least three places they'd moved to since then? No, she couldn't blame them if they hadn't. It would be a pain to drag along, especially if nobody bothered to keep it up and running.

Bobby might know, she decided, so she might as well go ahead and tell him what she had in mind. If it was still around, and it still ran, it'd be faster and less conspicuous than Johnny's car at least. Not exactly 'safe', by any stretch of the imagination, and not fast compared to a teleporter, but still a better option, she thought.

"Man, I can't remember the last time I rode that thing," Bobby told her and her hopes kinda deflated, especially when he shook his head. Yeah, okay. She really shouldn't have gotten her hopes up, but they could still do Johnny's car. it would work. But then Bobby's eyes slid sidelong and she saw the corners of his mouth twitch. "Maybe you'd better drive."

Wrinkling her nose at him in mute protest, she tugged him the last few feet to the door, pulling it open. "That was mean," she informed him, in case he hadn't noticed that part. So not fair to tease her. "I'm definitely driving, though."

Especially after the teasing. That gave her first claim on driving. Or something. Besides, she used to love driving that bike.

"Are you sure you're okay with it?" he asked as they went out into the hall prompting her to stop briefly and look over at him. "It's still more risky than flagging down a teleporter and hitching a ride."

With a crooked smile, she shrugged, still holding onto his hand. "Breathing and waking up in the morning are pretty risky around here. And, yeah, I'm okay with it." Still a little nervous, considering what for her was a little too recent run in with unfriendly Sentinels, but they'd taken a lot of those out this week, right? And, well, she knew he would rather not use the teleporter. Going on their own this once was a risk worth taking if it made him happy, "So Unless you're planning on hitchhiking," Kitty added with an impish smirk as she started down the hall again, "you should get a move on. 'Cause me and the bike are leaving as soon as I find it."
