Mutant Camp
Packing up had been the easiest part. Terry had come in with nothing but the clothes on her back. It only seemed appropriate that she leave the same way.

The former, short-lived figurehead stood by her nightstand. She was dressed in a modest but comfortable pair of blue jeans and a lemon long-sleeved tunic with a pleated skirt. A simple pair of sneakers completed the outfit. Part of the spoils from the Helicarrier, claimed not long after capturing it.

Her closet was far from lacking, but the clothing packed within would stay behind. They were the clothes of a different person, dreamed up by others to parade in front of a camera and who'd never really existed. Even the stealth suit had no place anymore. There was nothing left to fight, and no fight left in her. None of it belonged with her or where she was going. Terry walked over to the door and slid it shut.

Turning back toward the room, she wandered over to the bureau. She pulled open the top drawer, where a pen and note pad with the SHIELD logo engraved on the header waited. The young redhead took them and scrawled a quick note on the blank sheet.

Gone to Genosha.
I'm okay.
Love,
Terry

It would be better to say good-bye in person, to hug her family one last time, but Terry couldn't bring herself to do it. If anyone tried to change her mind, she wasn't sure what she'd do. She was nervous enough as it was and she probably couldn't fake a smile if someone put a gun to her head. The decision was made from the moment she’d woken up in Muir. It wouldn’t be too difficult to find her if someone was of a mind to. There was nothing left for her to do here except to go away.

That was it, then. Terry had a ride to catch. Setting the pad down, she went to the door. She paused halfway out of the room and gave it one last look before switching off the light.
