I believe you and your opponent each select one of your fighters that has won a match, attach 1 item and 1 tech to them w/o paying se cost, then the game resumes and the winner of that fight wins the game.

Actually according to the rulebook that comes in the deck boxes it works a bit more different. Yes, you select one of the fighters that won their match and put it face down then you flip them faceup. Next, you select an item from your discard pile and attach it to your fighter face-down, once both have done this you flip it over and pay any spirit energy costs. Then repeat for the technique. Match continues as normal.

I haven't played a match in a while but today I decided to play a match against myself and the sudden death happened. I'm a bit rusty that's for sure.

You're right. I'll bet spadra99 was the guy who bought the 230 dollar alliance/gateway/ghost files boxes :P
