I have a question about the technique Life Threads which states:

(2) 6000: Until your next Draw Step, the first time your opponent discards a card from his hand for any reason, he must discard an additional card from his hand.

I assume that paying for an attack counts as discarding cards from your hand. Is this correct? In essence then, if the first time an opponent discards cards from their hand is to pay for their attack cost, then they will have to discard one additional card. Am I understanding this correctly?

Thanks!

I would say yes, it would apply to paying the cost for attacks. It says "for any reason," and a cost is a reason. It lacks the "effect" keyword ("when an effect would discard," "for an effect," etc.)

Thanks! This is what I thought. It just seemed to me too good to be true, especially if you run the card in a Uraotogi deck like I'm planning to do.
