'Well, no where to hide once they've seen us. And I think they've seen us. We should fight until the end - like brothers.' Brothers, the idea warmed Vivu's heart. stared at Firo's paw and then at his own. Believing that this was some sort of oath, Vivu placed his paw against Firo's. However, Vivu didn't come all this way, just to die here. "Then let us rev-eal ourselves..." he stated, moving out on the open to see the two 'vicious monsters'. That's when he smelled something, that familiar scent of fresh meat. No matter how dark it was, he knew that smell anywhere. Something must've been killed, and whenever there's death, the vultures soon follow. Whether or not they were from his venue would be irrelevant, all vultures knew the Griffon of the Desert. However, he would have to call for them, they wouldn't land if the hunter was still there. |

"Well. The elephant said, replying to Airya in a sarcastic tone. "I eat grass, you know. And look at me! So tall...so strong! Not all of us chase down poor gazelles for our every meal. Maybe you lions should try out grass or leaves or even flowers sometimes. They're quite tasty, really." He continued on for another minute or so, describing in depth his favorite grasses and plants and the best trees around for eating out of. You know, just in case the lioness was interested. "And yes, I know there's two lions here. You don't think I can't hear them jumping around?" Tembo said, turning to look at Airya as if she'd insulted the giant elephant. "Please. They're probably two cubs from the sound of their fall, and I'm sure they're not too far away. It's just Koa and Neema I'm sure, off on some 'secret adventure'." He rolled his eyes and flopped his ears back. "I didn't want to give them away, of course. They'd be mad at me if I let you in on their fun." |

Airya grunted in a bit of frustration as the elephant spoke, if it was Neema and Koa she had every right to check on them. Since Neema was her daughter, she wanted to be left alone, that was normally how she worked best. And with somone constantly at her side jabbering away wasn't going to help. The meat still needed to be delivered back to the dens. "I am related to them and as a parent to Neema I can check on them I have motherly instincts and you can't stop those from happening. Either that or you will have a few claws in your trunk." She growled, though she had only considered the last sentence as a threat, she really wanted Tembo off her back or to go bug someone else. She had her job to do and the king was probably growing impatient. Though she couldn't say no, it just wasn't her. Sighing she decided to go back to work and picked up the meet again in her claws. Maybe someone back at the dens could get Tembo off her back. She had one more hunt to do this night. |

Firo smiled in the darkness as Vivu extended his paw in a sort of highfive manner. 'Then as brothers we shall go,' he said, aware that he was still whispering. It wouldn't be true to say that Firo was not afraid. Meeting two large shadows in the Majabalian lands were as dangerous as jumping down a waterfall with a blindfold. The spotted cub caught the wiff of fresh meat. Oh great, they're feeding lions as well. Perhaps they'd find lion cubs' flesh tasty too. But before he had a chance to voice his concern, Vivu had already moved out into the open. 'Ahhh we're gonna die,' he said to himself before scrapping his way to stand beside Vivu. Now that they were in open ground, Firo could see who they were facing. A fully grown lioness dragging a kill. And Firo's best bet was that her face would be covered in the blood of her prey, making Firo glad it was nighttime to avoid the details. And next to her was the largest lion he's ever seen! He must be 100 times the size of any lion! The dark skies illuminated nothing apart from his large bulk and ears. Firo gasped audibly, wondering where the nearest tree was. |

Vivu turned his head towards Firo, sensing his fear. "Have no fear. We are not meant to die here." Vivu assured him, his voice firm. The buzzard lion could make out the lioness well enough, but it was the thing behind her that had Vivu's attention. The only thing he knew that was that huge was an elephant. Granted, he had heard the tales about them from the vultures. They were big, but they were slow and usually not that violent. Unprovoked of course. The buzzard lion relaxed his muscles, and let out a long breath. The lioness was clearly back from a hunt, considering the source of the meat was coming from her. Vivu assumed that carrying that meat around would make her a little tired. If that was true, then there was a chance that he and Firo could escape if things went south. Vivu chose to remain silent, he already had a feeling that the two of them knew they were here. If they didn't care, he and Firo would simply turn around and walk away. |

"Ooh, a few claws on my trunk." Tembo said, his eyes widening slightly. "I'm soooo terrified." A higher-pitched voice followed, but there was no fear there. He was nice enough to believe that most didn't mean to harm him--but then again, most animals couldn't harm him very much on their own. Now, if she had threatened to set the entire pack on her...well, the elephant would know that he had a problem...Still, he curled up his trunk as a precaution. "I'm related to them to!" Tembo countered, then stopped. "Well, you know. It's like I'm related to them. Considering I hang around them everyday...I might as well be! And I have mothering instincts too, you know!" He flailed his curled trunk for a moment there, frustrated at his lack of grace. "Well, err, No. Maybe. You know what I mean!" "How about I go ahead and grab the two cubs? Then you won't have to worry about coming back to pick them up. Hmm? Hmm?" He prodded the lioness slightly in the side, hoping to annoy her enough that she'd cave and let him pick up the little lions. Without waiting for her consent, the elephant turned and headed towards the directions of the sounds. "Neema. Koa. Come out of there, already." He said, peering his head down to get a better look. |

Airya however had a bad feeling about this, the young cubs didn't seem to be Neema and Koa, they may have been someone else. And if they weren't, she'd most likely have to come to Tembo's rescue. Maybe that could make him be quiet after all he would owe her after that? Shaking the thought aside she finally saw her chance seeing how much of a climbing path she had left. It wouldn't be long before she could drag the meat back to the den, then check on Tembo to see how he was doing with the cubs. "Finally a little room to breathe." She thought to herself as she began to climb back up to the mountains, hopefully the king wouldn't be mad at her late arrival. |

From the looks of things, the lioness was trying to leave. Good, one less Majabalian to worry about. Also, the elephant didn't seem hostile at all, judging from the dialogue. They had mistaken them for some other cubs, Neema and Koa apparently. Vivu was well aware that his accent would have given them away instantly. Since the buzzard lion didn't know what to do, he turned to Firo. Vivu decided to let his body language do the talking for him. Basically, his eyes read "Brother, what are we going to do? Should we run?" it seemed unnecessary to try and fight them, pointless even. |

Firo gasped even louder when the giant Magabalian lion apparently gave a war cry that sounded like 'NHEE MARR KOUUU ARRRR' and began charging at them. The spotted cub jumped back in fright, shaking even. This was getting too much for the young lion, however brave he apparently was before. However, he stopped at Vivu's words. He had told the Tawi not to have fear. Firo couldn't understand why Vivu was feeling no fear when a large form was running towards them. Wait...when he took a closer look, he realised that it wasn't charging. It was..almost...a casual walk by its relaxed body posture. What's more, the closer it came, the more FIro saw that it didn't look like a lion. Was that...a trunk? An elephant? The other female lion was moving away. The spotted cub looked at Vivu, who was gazing at him. He understood his friend's unspoken question. 'Well...they have already seen us. And-and they don't look too bad,' he whispered, ears flattened. 'Perhaps...well perhaps we can just explain to them that we lost our way.' So the two cubs stood their ground, the giant shape almost upon them. ooc: this colour is easier to read.. |

"Koaaah. Neeema." The elephant continued to call, making his way closer and closer to the two cubs. By this time, he could easily make out their shapes, and of course noticed that they weren't in any hurry to come running up to the elephant. "If you hurry up, I'll even let you guys ride home on my back!" He offered up. Surely no cub could resist a chance to sit on top of an elephant! Tembo imagined that the view would be quite fantastic. He'd tried crouching down a time or two, to try and get on the same eye level as a lion. He hadn't liked it--there was far too much grass in his face and it was almost impossible to see anything down there. He much preferred standing tall. As soon as he was right in front of them, the elephant noticed something peculiar about the cubs. It was strange; he hadn't remembered Neema having such a fuzzy tuft of hair. Unless... "Who are you two?" He asked, completely puzzled. These cubs were not any he'd seen in the Majabali before, and they certainly didn't look like Majabalians. |

Awkward, that's how Vivu felt at this point. This has been one eventful day. He had developed a brotherly bond with Firo, entered Majabalian territory for the first time in his life. And here he was, face to face with an elephant, a species that he only heard about when the vultures where really hungry. Vivu looked towards Firo, who seemed too afraid to speak at the moment. "I am sorry, we have got-ten lost." Vivu managed to answer. True, Vivu was uncomfortable, a little scared even. But in the back of his mind, he knew that they were going to be okay. The way the elephant approached them seemed... rather friendly. He had his doubts that the behemoth would attack them unprovoked. Therefore... "You are an ele-faunt, yes?" he asked with curious eyes. Somewhat relying on his accent to make him appear, how they say, adorable... |

Though she had travelled a bit more up the mountain side she continued to look back. Wondering if Tembo was alright, though he had bugged her nearly to death it seemed she still had to worry about him. If he sent out a warning she would have to come to his rescue. She was thankful for her sensitive ears, she was bound to pick something from them no matter how high she went. However she could see the dens in sight before bringing back the meat to the shelter were some of the lions would come and devower it. "Now to go see how Tembo is doing." Airya said seeing that she needed to head back down to the mountains to where the lions where and the elephant. |

Firo looked in horror as the giant elephant stood in front of them. At least it wasn't a giant lion. Firo, however, could sense that the elephant was not hostile. Otherwise, him and Vivu would be flattened like mud pancakes already. 'We're certainly not Koa or Neema, if that's who you are looking for,' Firo said, his head tilted back fully just to look at the elephant. And even then, he could hardly see the creature's eyes especially in the darkness. He waited until Vivu finished his question about an elefaunt. 'Psst, ele-phant, Vivu,' he whispered, nudging his friend and hoping the Majabalian wouldn't hear him since he was so high up. He didn't think offending a large elephant was a good idea. 'And who are you? I thought only scary lions lived here. You're not eaten yet,' Firo asked, speaking louder in case the elephant couldn't hear up in the clouds.

"Aww." Tembo said, which sounded quite strange with his lower voice. His trunk curled in slightly due to the pure adorableness of the cubs standing in front of him. It was true that they definitely looked scared and lost, which no cub should evere have to deal with. He wondered, though, how lost they could truly be. Generally, lost lions didn't wander at nightime--although from what he'd heard, their eyesight was quite good in the dark. "I'm so sorry! I thought you were the little prince and his cousin! I'm sure their mothers will be pleased to know that they're safe. ." He paused, glancing back in the direction of the dens, and then back down at the cubs. "Speaking of which, won't your mother be worried, with you two out at night like this?" He said, momentarily mistaking the two cubs as brothers. In his defense, they had a similar fur coloring and tufts of hair. He never claimed to have the best night vision. "And yes, I'm an ele-faunt." Tembo eagerly said, his elephant pride shining through. "Your brother's right, though. I'm usually called an ele-phant. I can forgive you, though. I can be intimidating, and even some of the biggest lions get tongue-tied when talking to me." "I'm Tembo, and a Majabalian, although I'm not a scary lion. Most of the lions here are pretty nice, in fact. There's nothing to be afraid of. And I don't think they could 'eat' me or even get rid of me if they wanted to." he gloated, a slight exaggeration on his part. A pack of lions could take him on and win if they really wanted to. "And I can hear you perfectly fine, there's no need to talk louder. See these ears? They can pick up on a lot of things." |

Vivu's eyes widened in disbelief, this was unreal to him. Here he was, the Griffon of the Desert, actually holding a conversation with an elephant. So many thoughts were running through his head. He would've never imagined he would experience such things so quickly. It was moments like this that made him realize how bleak his life was before. If it weren't for that lioness, he would've never came here, and he would've never met Firo. The buzzard lion took a moment to size up the behemoth before him. His eyes focusing on his trunk, tusks, and ears. What a unique creature. "Elephant, elephant..." Vivu said to himself so his tongue would memorize it, "my brother and I..." motioning towards Firo, "were voya-jing through the mountains and lost our way, due to the night... um..." explained the lanky cub, taking mental note to improve on his sentence structure. He didn't like to talk much, it made him aware of how much work he needed. Vivu was surprised at how natural it felt calling Firo his brother; then again, Firo was Vivu's first friend. |
