The lioness was once again resting in the shade, though this time she was away from her normal duties. As a mother and the lead huntress it was often rare for her to be alone. Though she sure did enjoy the time she spent by herself every once in awhile. All the troubles on her mind instantly vanished it seemed. Her young daughter Airya was probably out with her cousin, which she didn't mind at all, the two were close and she trusted both that they wouldn't get into trouble.
Her tail flicked every once in awhile to prove that she was still alert as she rested underneath one of the few trees that were up in the mountain range. Down below her she could watch the territory border from the Pridelands. She had not needed to worry, since it seemed to be rare for one Pridelander to come this far from their home. Much like it was she or a lion from the mountains to go to the Pridelands. It just seemed better that way. Though if there was a time of need, they would cross the boarder in order to ask for aid from another pride. "Maybe one day there will be no such things as boarders or territories, a lion can roam freely without care." She thought to her self, however it seemed like a far fetched idea now a days.

Trotting around the Savannah, as usual, Abasi began to grow quite bored with exploring, at least this once. The sun beat down on his tawny fur causing his body to heat up, he needed to cool down somehow. Spying a large mud puddle nearby, the cub raced towards it and leapt in. He had to admit, it felt great. "Much better than those trees.." he thought as he rolled around caking his light-brown fur. Sitting up in the goo, Abasi looked around to observe his surroundings, his cerulean eyes spotted a female in the distance laying under a large acacia tree, which was probably native to this part of the territory. Crouching low the cub stalked towards the unsuspecting female and laid low in the grass near the adult lioness, the mud serving its new purpose as camoflauge. He stayed in place, as still as a stone watching her with curiousity.

(OOC: I'm so sorry it's short >< I'm trying my best to boost my word count to 200-300 words per post ^^;)

Ooc: That's alright, sometimes my posts are short as well, I don't mind at all if they are.

Bic: Airya looked up from her gaze back from where the pridelands where, something told her she wasn't alone. But as she gazed around the area, she found nothing within the grasslands that seemed out of the ordinary. But that strange feeling was still there, not a threatening one however. It seemed like someone was keeping watch. Though she shook it off, wondering who ever it was would come into view eventually.
"Either someone is here, or I'm just being protective." She thought to herself and shrugged it off, there was no need to worry just yet.

The young cub's paws crept forth ever so slowly through the tall grasses, pausing every so often to make sure he wasn't spotted. Unfortunately while he was moving, Abasi's back left foot stepped on a stone that had somehow gotten in the way causing him to cry out in pain. "Ow!" The cub jumped up slightly revealing his position. Backing up and looking down at the rock, the cub pouted slightly while sweeping it away with his paw to one side. His attention immediately refocused on the female, or at least tried to while standing on three paws which proved to be somewhat difficult. Abasi couldn't stand up anymore so he ended up flopping back down onto the ground. "Stupid rock..." he muttered to himself as his rimmed ears drooped to slightly to the side of his head.

ooc: yeah its a little hard to think up good posts while you have traffic going almost constantly in front of your window while at work lol))

Ooc: Lol I'm at home and we have a main road that's right next to the house, there's always something going on it that makes a loud distracting noise. So I kind of understand. xD

Bic: The Lioness felt her muscles stiffened, this time hearing a soft noise nearby, she was sure of it. It sounded like a cry of some sort. Her motherly instincts kicked in remembering her own cub Neema, she'd do anything to keep her safe and out of harms way. Though she was usually always with her cousin, hoping the two would stay out of danger. She carefully stood up to come investigate where the voice was coming from. It was difficult to tell where, at first, but a faint scent of a lion came into her nose.
"It's alright, I won't hurt you, I'm just concerned." Airya spoke softly trying not to frighten off this lion.

The image of a lioness came into the cub's visage as he laid on the ground. "G..get away from me!" he retorted while he scrunched his small mud covered body as best as he could as he moved backwards, away from the strange female that had suddenly appeared.

"It's alright, I won't hurt you, I'm just concerned. she had said.

Abasi's body became less tense as the lioness spoke with concern in her voice. He stared up at the female with curiousity. Tilting his head he took a small step forward. He'd never really had anybody really "care" about him before in his life.

She wondered if she was getting through to the cub though it seemed like it wasn't happening. Though she was a mother herself, she wouldn't dare harm another young cub. It just seemed wrong to such a thing, harming something innocent as him? "I'm a mother myself, I have one that's about your age." She said trying to think of a way to try and get to him without frightening again. Airya noticed that she was getting to the young cub as he took a few steps forward to her.

ooc: Do you want to make this an open thread? It'd seem like more fun than duet RPing back and forth lol))

bic: Abasi stood there, flicking his tail from side to side causing some of the dried mud to fling off to one side in the grass. "Girls are gross...besides...they have cooties." he retorted while averting his gaze to the large rock in the distance. "What's that?" he asked while tilting his head. It looked so huge! Maybe it was a giant place where he could be that involved no rules and he could do as he wished.

Ooc: Sure I though it would just be us at first, but now that I think about it. That sounds a lot better. I'll edit it so it'll be open for others to join in.

Bic: Airya chuckled a bit as she watched the young cub, "Then that means I have cooties." She added since she was indeed a lioness. However she was one not to be reckoned with when there was a fight. She knew the hunters in the group fairly well and how their strength was, was incredible. Airya however knew that the current king wanted to keep peace with the other prides, and fighting on other territories was not needed, it would only make things worse.
"And that rock over there is Pride Rock. It's owned to a group of lions called the Pridelanders." Airya explained answering the young cub's question. She lifted her head to look up and see the large rock as well.

"Can we go there?" he asked, his eyes still locked on the stone structure in the distance. Not waiting for an answer from the female, Abasi tore off towards Pride Rock, his small paws beating against the ground, kicking up dust as he ran.

Eventually arriving, the cub climbed up the stone structure and gazed out across the land, the small animals grazing below, the little figures of tree tops blowing in the wind as he stood at Pride Rock's edge. "Wow...." he muttered in fascination while his eyes scanned everything below.

Airya was worried now, if the others would have noticed her appearance at Priderock. She had followed the young cub there just to make sure he was safe. Sure he was a curious one, but what worried her now was that she wouldn't be trusted. After all she went over her border from the Majabali Pride! Maybe worrying on the other side was a bad idea, they had been at peace with the Pridelanders, and they didn't mind the occasional visit.
For now she decided to lay low just to watch the cub, then quickly return back to her home land making sure he had someone to watch. "You can probably see the area from where you came from up there." She said to the young cub.

"Yeah I just saw it all..." Abasi replied while turning around to face the lioness momentarily before finding a large cave. Walking towards it at a fast pace he smiled as he yelled out at the top of his lungs, "HELLO!". Abasi's voice echoed bouncing off the cavern walls. He rolled onto his back giggling, thinking it was rather amuzing, at least from his stand point. Laying on the ground, he stared back at the female, his floppy hairtuft getting dirty upon the ground.

"You have quite the loud voice there." Airya said managing to smile. Though the concern for her own pride was still growing. Who knew how long it would be before the king needed her to call out the other lions for a hunt, or needed her for something else? She shook it off, for now she was relaxing and he knew that for sure. And she would return as well having no troubles at all. Plus the cub didn't need to worry about these ordeals they were her troubles, not his.

Abasi had seen the expression upon the lioness's face. "What's wrong?" he asked as he padded towards her and stared up at her with an expression of half wonder, half confusion. The young cub knew what it was like to be alone. From the time of his birth his parents had disliked him, not that he looked any different mind you, but because of the fact that the pride already had more than enough mouths to feed. You see, Abasi's parents lived in quite a strict pride, one where you were based on strength as your rank, and his parents...were on the very bottom. His father was often sick due to him having been born with a weak heart. His mother? A cast out princess from her old pride, stripped from her title due to mating a commoner. The couple was making out just fine, until he came along. Infants are sometimes the hardest to feed in a pride due to their constant want of milk which the mother needs to replenish her energy and strength with meat, and since they were on the bottom the mostly got scraps.

In the dark of night, his mother dropped off her infant son at a cave, turned around and never looked back as hard as it was for her. The cub grew by eating small bugs and an occasional dead animal once he'd chased off the vultures, but the rest of the time he lived by himself.

(ooc: My muse is starting to slowly come back! =D )

Ooc: Nice! Welcome back, Rox.

Bic: "It's just that I'm worried about the other pride. I have a duty there but I think the King won't mind if I hold it off just for a bit." Airya explained as she looked back at the young cub. For some reason it constantly reminded her of her own cub, Neema. She was always out playing with her cousin, but when they were together she tried to have as much fun and time with her as possible. "Besides he has his own matters at hand." She added as she thought about it. Knowing that her brother had a family to look after as well and was focusing on the heir to teach him the royal duties that were needed to become a future king.
