"Don't you mean the eye of the pride? And I didn't realize you were also the mouth!"

Baya snarled in anger."Shut up!"She demanded."You have some nerve! Calling me out on a disability! Shall I give you one as well? Rest assured it will not be one so easy to adjust to!"

She took up an offensive posture, prepared to pounce if Sanura continued to challenge her. Baya was large with muscle and knew how to use it on the battlefield. her fiery temper only aided her when it came to her battles.

  • Padding through the tunnels alone, another reddish lioness roamed inside the mound. Normally, she'd try to avoid conflict and crowds. However, the excess noise perked her curiosity, this time sending the female towards their direction instead of away. Recognizing one of the voices as her sister's increased her pace.

Sure Tandra was bothered and often annoyed by how over-protective Sanura was, wanting the younger of the pair to practically be joined at the hip it seemed, but that was her family nonetheless. She could never be entirely mad or mean and would back her up in a brawl, even if it was unwise. She herself wasn't the best fighter, but would try at least with fair results.

Entering the hollow, her black rimmed ears swiveled toward the argument. She remained off to the side, far from the group and semi-blocking a pathway. Giving a polite nod to the queen, which she sometimes forgot to do, the teen feline stood silently, her gray eyes watching the event unfold.

  • Shetani had admittedly been expecting the two to take off and begin their hunt immediately, so when no real action came following her consent, she was a little surprised. And hesitant. Well, surely there must be something more they wanted, then, and sure enough, it came in the form of a question from Jasiri. Interesting... he wanted her to accompany them on the hunt? An intriguing request, but the dark lioness could not help but ponder just why it was he wished for her to come along. Was there some sort of underlying plot, here? Did he intend to lure her away from the safety of the pride...? She was cautious, as usual...

...but her attention was captured as Baya arrived, asserting herself into the conversation and speaking on behalf of the queen. And this admittedly amused Shetani, for how could Baya possibly know whether or not she wished to go on the hunt? But she appreciated the words all the same, realizing the lioness was merely placing her on the pedestal she so rightly deserved -- it was their job to do the hunting, and she would not lift a paw unless she felt like it.

But the others did not seem to take kindly to the majordomo's directness... she could smell the upcoming debate a mile away, as if it were some rotting carcass. Oh, this would be quite the little show, she thought to herself, dark orbs flitting from cat to cat. Oh so opinionated, her pride members were... and they tended to clash horribly in situations like this. A small smirk turned the corner of her maw as she listened to the insults hurled amongst them, Baya and Sanura verbalizing much more than Jasiri or the newly arrived Tandra. And whilst she would have liked the entertainment to last on longer... the possibility of infighting and bloodshed was far too great, at this point. And the last thing they needed were unnecessary injuries to baby. "Now, now." she purred, leaping down from her rocky perch to land amongst them. It was a dangerous move, the voices protested... But the others were far too intent on causing each other harm at this point than her. "If the prey is running like your mouths, we'll find out bellies empty for another day yet."

"Shall I give you one as well? Rest assured it will not be one so easy to adjust to!"

Sanura's facial expression remained unchanged at the threat. The lioness was used to such verbal communication within the pride; directed at her or not. Even in her birth pride. Constant exposure to aggressive behavior moulded the once playful cub into a sarcastic, almost uncaring lioness. She assumed that this was the only kind of relationship to be had with pride mates. Despite her experiences, Sanura remained slightly soft towards her younger sister. Strict, but soft. Even if Tandra rarely saw that side of her.

As soon as Baya's body language became opposing, Sanura snarled. The hairs on her neck and shoulders stood, ears flattened and her teeth bared. The lioness had no intention of getting involved in a physical fight - she was far too important for that! She definitely could not imagine Baya feeding the pride on her behalf. That and Sanura knew she wouldn't stand much of a chance against the angry, one eyed leonine.

Unless something precious to her was to get involved. The scent of her sister caught her nose. Sanura's narrowed eyes quickly sought the adolescent prior to glaring back at Baya. Although unlikely to successfully defend herself in a fight, she was always able to muster more strength and fury when Tandra was in danger. Not only because they were immediate family, but because the lioness believed Tandra to be too innocent to know how to really fight. Whenever Sanura gazed into her sister's eyes, she still saw the naive and confused cub she abducted during the night.

Sanura remained highly alert, tuft flickering in annoyance and claws raking at the dusty ground. Her growling ceased and her head lowered, ready to back down. The mahogany lioness was aware that Tandra could be in danger if a fight did break out between the two offended adults. Fortunately, Shetani decided to interfere. Sanura turned her right ear to face her Queen, refusing to redirect her glare. The lioness certainly did not trust Baya enough to completely remove her attention - Outlanders were hardly known for fighting fair. She assumed Baya was the type to attack once one's back was turned, whether the Queen was present or not. "If she isn't careful, bellies will remain empty."

My wants, are all I care
No shame and guilt, there's nothing there"[/align]

As soon as Baya turned hostile, Jasiri backed out a little bit. A snarl wrinkled his face, threatening to turn into a small roar if one of them came too close to him. He didn't want to get involved in any sort of fight like this--arguments that escalated into something larger. The only time he'd actually fight was if he, Shetani, or the rest of the pride was in danger. Then, and then only.

The male had to admit that he found Sanura's comment about Baya's 'eye' a bit funny. A corner of his mouth had curled up in a subtle smile, almost impossible to see in this darker cave. It had faded almost instantly, though, as things got even more serious between the two lionesses. In fact, he was ready to head out and start hunting by himself when Shetani finally spoke up.

He quickly backed up after the queen jumped down from her perch. It was essential to give this lioness her space. Dead was the one who crowded the queen. When he was certain he was at a safe distance--yet not too far away--the adolescent stopped, waiting to see Baya's reaction to this.
