  • Today is a rainy day. Small drops of water fell from the sky into the lush forests. The droplets made a soft melody as they hit the ground or anything else above it. In this case, it was falling on a old lion would was happily feasting on what used to be a warthog. It was rare for him to hunt for his own food but Iocus simply couldn't resist playing cat and mouse with the poor beast. It took two hours to get this meal; the old lion was simply too slow to win the race so he took the long way by stalking the prey into a dead end.

They wrestled for a moment but the tired warthog was no match for the much larger lion. Taking his meal back to the large hollow broken tree that he calls home, the old one began humming happily with his prize on his back. Looking above, Iocus searched for the sun to see which time it was. The shadows next to him were small so it must be noon or close to that.

The rain was also falling on him making him very wet. Luckily for him, it wasn't cold and rain makes good water the drink. Using his paws to open his meals in two, Iocus licked his lips before lifting his head high. His old ears hear something near him but it could simply be the rain. He took few seconds to look around. The scent of blood might attract some unwanted attention. Or it could be one of the Tawi Pride.

"Who's there?" Softly asked the old one, "Is anyone here?" repeated himself.

Well if Firo thought he was the best, she was certainly not going to give up on being the best climber. She already felt she was, but having some fun and improving her abilities wouldn't hurt. And a rainy day was the perfect thing. If she could climb well on wet, slippery bark, she'd be no match on dry. So this dreary day found the golden female weaving through branches and inter-tangled trees as she climbed through the forest.

The steady fall of rain was soaking the red locks of hair on her head. They were falling into her face in a soppy mess. Which provided somewhat of a hindrance as she made her way about the forest. Ashanti made a leap for a higher bough, but almost caught it wrong. She managed to haul her small, light frame up, but this was time to call it quits for today. Gradually, she picked her way back down and plopped on the soggy ground. It felt all spongy on her paw pads from the rain.

Hazel eyes darted about at the sound of a voice. It was coming from just beyond that shrub, and she could say she wasn't familiar with its sound. "Just me," the young lioness responded as she came into view. So close the unknown lion, she practically looked like a cub in comparison. While she was unusually small for an adolescent, he was a rather large adult lion. However, the small female was hardly daunted by his size. "My name's Ashanti...What's yours?" It couldn't hurt to try and be friendly.
