The first night had been the worst. Jagger was dumped into completely unfamiliar territory in the middle of the night. Not to mention how out of it he was when he finally came to - only to find himself lost and alone in a strange place. He was so frightened he was frozen at first, wide-eyed in terror, little claws extended and dug into the earth he was not in the least bit used to. He spent the night huddled under a bush, he only fell asleep just before dawn out of sheer exhaustion from being so scared. But by the time the sun was shining high, he had half-emerged from the safety of his cover. When he awoke to the sounds of the hustle 'n' bustle of all the savannah life, he scrambled to his feet and backed up under the shrubbery, wide-eyed and horrified once again. What was this place? Why was he here? Where were his brothers and sisters? As unfriendly as most of them were to him, he still would've been slightly relieved if they were around. He would've been more at ease with something, anything familiar around. But there was nothing within sight or scent that he recognized. "...W-w-w-where a-a-am I?" He squeaked in a tiny unsure voice, crouched beneath the edge of the bush and looking out onto the vast bright land he knew nothing of. |

The lone cheetah, Kaffir, rested in the shade of a boabob tree that rised higher than most of them and had an interesting way of forming the branches that lead out to the leaves, the ones that were left were dry and bare. Showing how little rain had fallen in the savannah that season. Though nights were the best, they were not hot like the dry savannah was normally and the tree helped even better. It shaded him from the moon's light so he wouldn't be blinded by what light was left. However night had come and gone as he rested there for most of the night, climbing back into the tree for cover. It would provide him for protecture of those animals who would want to attempt to harm him. As the sun rose the next day he climbed out of the tree top and back down on the ground. However his ears turned left and right hearing a strange cry nearby. His eyes continued to scan the areas wondering where it was, while his tail flicked showing his calm side. The voice was faint, but he was sure he wasn't hallucinating, something was there. So he decided to investigate wondering if the cry would be heard again. He also relied on his eyes to help him look for the source of where the cry came from, wondering if it was nearby. It wasn't long before he decided to use a third way to help him find out where this cry came from, "Where are you?" He asked finally in a calm voice. "I am here, I will help you, I just want to know where your location is." Kaffir asked. |

She'd managed to convince her parents to let her take a walk in the lands that afternoon. Everyone at the dens were either asleep or about to be, leaving the adolescent with no real options for a bit of fun. Her mother had finally caved after some careful persuasion, to the princess's relief. They could definitely be a bit stingy at times... A blue-gray bird circled overhead, the family friend her parents had forced her to bring with her. It's not that they were afraid she'd get lost or hurt...they just feared that their daughter would 'do something stupid.' "How's it going up there, Calo?" She called, craning her neck upward to see the hawk. He wavered in his flight path, dropping a bit of altitude to squak back a reply. "It's wonderful. I can see all of the Pridelands from up here!" He called, as if that wasn't obvious enough. Alyeska gave a little laugh, flicking her tail. She glanced over to her side, where Ekundayo also stood. He'd been a tagalog, catching up to the lioness as she'd moved away from Pride Rock. 'Ugh." She grumbled. "I really wish they hadn't made him follow me like this. "It's like they think I'm still a cub." She wished that the adolescent beside her would understand. She'd had escorts since she could walk, and the only time she ever got away was when she ditched them...which thus increased her parent's fears, and so it. It never got any better. A smile soon returned to her face, but it wasn't there for long. The blue bird swooped back down, swiftly landing in front of the lioness. "Princess!" He said urgently. "My name's Alyeska." She reaffirmed. "Not just princess." The bird didn't care, and quickly continued. "There's a cheetah up there, Princess., and I think he's talking to someone. You better go check it out." He said, pushing himself back up into the air to guide the way. Sure enough, a golden cheetah stood suspiciously around a group of bushes, calling into them as if he was looking for a cub. "What's going on?" She asked, sprinting up towards the cheetah. |

Ekundayo hadn't particularly wanted to tag along on the young heir's adventure, but he'd been asked by his king and queen to do so, and he was sure not to go against them. The young male kept a few paces behind Aly to give her some space but still allowing himself to keep an eye on her. Maybe if she didn't complain so much she'd forget Dayo was even there. Still, the way she was acting, he couldn't say he expected her to stop resenting his presence just yet. Strong willed thing that she was. He caught the princess' last comment regarding him and pressed his ears flat against his head. Dayo wasn't deaf by any means, and he was growing bored of Alyeska's words. However, as he drew closer he paused to listen to what it was that Calo had to say. He was an impressive bird, and Ekundayo had to focus to keep himself focused on his words. A cheetah? No real threat, but still, it was his job to be cautious. However, before he could say anything Aly had bolted in the direction of the stranger. "This kid is going to be the death of me..." he mumbled to himself before running after her, his longer legs allowing him to catch up easily. "Aly! Wait up a sec!" he called before making a move to stand in front of her. "Didn't anyone ever tell you not to go barging in on things? I trust Calo not to put you in harms way, but you have to remember that you're not queen yet." The larger of the two took a few steps forward. It really didn't make any difference now. They could both see the cheetah now, and he was certain to have heard the young lioness' call. "Besides, if you go poking your nose into trouble it'll be me that gets the heat for it," the male added though still looking toward the scene and not whom he was addressing, a hint of humor in his tone. |

As unsure as he was, Jagger at least felt safe in knowing that there was no one around who might possibly harm him. He was alone...or so he thought. When he laid eyes on the tall, spotted creature who had inadvertently heard him and thus began seeking him out though, his heart leaped into his throat. He gasped a bit, voice catching as well. He scrambled backward, aiming to get as far into the brush as he could to shield himself from the large feline's view. Unfortunately, Jagger made a critical error...his mistake being that he was moving so quickly - too quickly in fact. He accidentally backed up into a root and tripped, tumbling heels over head out of the back of the bush. He was stopped though by the impact of an object, something solid and unmoving. He'd rolled into something - or someone - bigger and stronger than he. When he looked up, his eyes were met with yet another feline- and grew wide with horror. Mouth agape, he let out a cry, a frightened squeak really - it was all he could manage. His first thought was to run as far and as fast as his legs would take him, but his second thought immediately overruled the first logically - he couldn't outrun anything big like that, let alone multiple big felines. So his next reaction - instinct actually - was to huddle up and hide his face with his forepaws in the hopes of seeming inadequate to harm or eat, weak and a waste of time and energy. Though failed to hide his nerves as he was trembling slightly. "P-p-please...d-d-d-don't eat m-me!" He pleaded in a tiny voice. It was all he could bring himself to utter. |

"I heard a voice nearby." Kaffir said noticing the two Pridelanders coming close. He was normally a loner but was often seen criss crossing the Pridelander's boarders minding his own ways. For that reason he had no interest in joining a clan...or Pride. They were just too serious, he was used to being alone doing his own thing. Not following orders. However he had spotted the frightened cub and only let out a soft chuckle at amusement. Cheetahs were fast, but they were good at hunting as well. However, he wasn't exactly a hunter. There was another interesting thing about him, he refused to eat meat, instead he only ate things ilke berries and fish mostly. "You've got me a bit confused, I don't eat meat. In fact I hate the way it tastes. I'd rather eat a tastey fish any day." He said rolling his shoulders into a kind of shrug as he watched the young cub. |

"Relax" She called after Dayo, who had run up a few moments later. He had an annoyed expression on his face, as if he'd hated to have to run, even the short distance. In fact, now that she thought about it, Dayo didn't seem to excited to be here at all. It didn't surprise her, however. Most of her 'escorts' hated to be forced to tag along with Alyeska, friendly as she may be. "And move!" She said playfully, pushing ahead of the older adolescent. While he was slightly older than her, it wasn't as if he needed to jump in front to protect her or anything. She stared back at him, a smile still on her face. "Relax." She reaffirmed. "And while I'm not queen yet, I'm going to be. Gotta learn my bravery from somewhere, right?" She said, thinking that jumping into the situation would certainly help with future experiences. Besides, if you go poking your nose into trouble it'll be me that gets the heat for it. "That's what you get for following me~" Alyeska called, taking a few steps towards the bush. She glanced over at the cheetah, the smile on her face slipping into a more serious and fitting expression. "So where did you..." She said, trailing off as a noisy rustling caught her attention. As she leaned down to get a better look, a cub came tumbling out of the brush, landing between the two lions. He squeaked something out, something that Kaffir seemed to find funny. By the time she tried to answer the cub's question, the cheetah already had. "Are you okay?" She tried, taking a step back from the frightened cub. She didn't want to make it feel any more scared than it already was, after all. Space would be good. |

Ekundayo rolled his eyes and was about to make a retort of some kind, he could only hope that it would have been witty, when the small cub tumbled out from the bushes and into his legs. He'd only just barely listened to what the cheetah had said, his mind preoccupied by the fur-ball at his feet. Dayo picked up on foot cautiously, moving it away from the clearly frightened cub. "Eat you?" he asked though mostly to himself. Everything assumed it was going to be eaten by something bigger. It wasn't a bad thought process to have out here with one's fellow wild animals, but really now, this cub was hardly appetizing. The young male had no taste for carnivores anyway. He preferred his meat on a healthy diet of grasses and leaves. Tasted better that way. He personally thought so anyway. Placing his paw back on the ground, Dayo flicked his tail and lowered his head slightly, getting a better scent on the cub. Didn't look familiar. Didn't smell familiar. Who on earth could this cub be? The cheetah had already asked him his name, and he didn't appear to be hurt in any way so Dayo felt his concern lessen. There was nothing to be cautious of here. Just a lost cub and a cheetah who hardly seemed like a threat. Of course, Ekundayo made a point of telling himself that he would get the other's name when he could. The more animals he knew the better. "He looks alright to me," the lion commented with a slight tilt of his head. There really wasn't much else to ask at this point except for one thing. "How'd you get here anyway?" Ekundayo asked turning his attention more to the cub at his paws. |
