"sure" redav replied, blinking slowly. he turned, and began walking toward the acacia grove, a quiet peaceful place he liked to visit often. he walked slowly, the burnt skin on his hind legs stretching uncomfortably. he began to hum, some tune from long ago. "anyway.. so, you're the griffon of the desert hm? i was expecting someone.. older" he said with a cough.

Vivu was unsure of how to react to that comment. Blowing caution to the wind, Vivu decided to say the first thing that came to his mind. In an unusually light tone, he responded... "Were you expecting wings, beak, and plumage as well?" Vivu paused for a moment, absolutely stunned that he actually used light sarcasm in a conversation. Since when did he ever quip? Kitara must have been rubbing off on him. Whether that's a good or bad thing remains to be seen.

"not really" redav rasped, stil walking. "..." he was quiet for a moment, trying to think of something to say, some conversation to start... he came up with nothing. "well, here we are" he said, looking at the branches of the acacia trees, holding their fingers against a blue sky.

Vivu couldn't hide his amazement, trees were such a fascinating phenomenon to him. "Absolu-tely astonishing..." he complimented, though he butchered absolutely, he pronounced astonishing perfectly. Compliments of Vivu's mother, Mema, for using big words around him. The buzzard lion looked towards Redav, looking for some kind of response to his praise.

he chuckled, "aye, i suppose one such as yourself would enjoy trees..." he smirked. he rubbed against a tree trunk, his bony tail snaking around the trunk.

Vivu followed after Redav's example and began rubbing his body against a tree. The lanky cub let out a drawn out hum of comfort, liking the raking feeling of the tree bark, "I would much enjoy perching on those, the word is branches, yes?" Vivu questioned, gesturing towards the limbs of the trees.

"aye, those are branches" redav nodded, his body coiling as he sprang onto the trunk, crawling up into a lower branch. "its not hard to climb, once you get the hang of it" he said, his scrawny, ash colored body curled on a thick branch. his tail hung limply, dangling. "if you do not feel comfortable climbing the tree, you could climb my tail i suppose" he said, having done that before.

Vivu gave Redav an awkward glance, the mental picture of it seemed absurd. Though Vivu had no qualms with climbing the tree, climbing Redav's tail had a bit more appeal to it. The trees weren't going to get up and walk away, at least not to Vivu's assumptions.

With a shrug, the buzzard lion placed his paws on Redav's tail, scooting up the limb before making his way towards the branch. And there they were, two lions perching on the same branch. A smile made its way on Vivu's face, this was also something he never thought would happen. Vivu took in the moment, savoring it.

Redav chuckled, amused as Vivu climbed his tail. He yawned, his long, white teeth flashing in the sun. "well now..." he said quietly, really just trying to start conversation. the trees bark was intersting and quite comfy against his burnt skin. he began to hum, his tail thumping rhythimcally on the tree.

Perching next to Redav practically entranced Vivu. Before the lanky cub knew it, he was swaying to Redav's rhythm and adding notes to the older lion's hum. And by adding notes, that meant Vivu was making enunciated huffs. Though buzzard lions didn't sing, often away, they did have a sense of poetry. Naturally, it was mostly about the brevity of life, and the different tastes of flesh; but it was poetry nonetheless. Vivu's breaths were actually lyrics...

A lion's life is fourteen years
But a spec in the sands of time
A king or an insect?

Vivu stopped abruptly, realizing what he was doing. The look he gave Redav was one that said it all. 'This is strange, yet fun, should I keep going?'

redav chuckled "keep going" he nodded, continuing to hum and create a rhythm. his eyes closed, completely at peace. he began to vocalize after a minute. they were strange words, of a complex tongue, one vivu might not have recognized, arabic.

Vivu listened to Redav's vocalizations intently, never before had he heard such a language. However, Vivu could appreciate the complexity of the language. Vulture dialect wasn't exactly an easy thing to learn, many subtleties plague that language.

"What language is that?" Vivu worded in the vulture tongue, and then quickly adjusted himself, "I mean, what tongue is that?" he said again in the lion language.

"Hmm? Oh, it's called Arabic, I picked it up a long time ago" he nodded. "Did.. did you just speak vulture?" he asked, with an amused smirk. "That was pretty neat" he rasped, with a cough.

"Griffon of the Desert," Vivu reminded, feeling at ease in the presence of Redav. Vivu was surprised by the older lion's compliment. No one had ever told him his knowledge of the vulture dialect was neat. Strange, off-putting, and creepy were the reactions he was most common to. Vivu could tell there was a lot to Redav. The buzzard lion wondered just what else he could learn from him, "What cre-chure speaks this 'Arabic'?" Vivu asked. Sadly, Vivu's young mind could only digest so much of the vulture network information. There was still so much that he didn't understand, he was afterall, still a cub...

"Well, humans mainly I suppose" Redav nodded. "I was around Arabic for... oh a few years at a zoo west of here" he nodded. He had the feeling this kid wasn't used to compliments, and it made him chuckle. "The zoo's also how I got these" he nodded, gesturing to the healed burns that laced his skin. "Fire" he said calmly, looking at the horizon.
