  • Kashee's smile faded into a calm, yet sorrowful gaze. Her eyes returned to the desert, the place where it had all begun for this cub. The beginning of his nightmares. The beginning go f his pain The end of the world as he knew it. She could barely image what she would have done if she had gotten lost in the desert. Unlike Daimu, she had her sister and older brother to cling to. To get support from, or to just be cheered up by them.

If she had been forced to cross the desert alone...she would have died. The cheetah was far too nice. She wouldn't stand up to anyone. She wouldn't have the stamina to make it through, she wouldn't have the emotional capacity to handle being all alone with no rescue in sight. To be able to go through that and still be alive...Daimu was like a miracle itself.

I see the way they look at me... Same as the hyenas...

Images flashed in front of the cheetah. The few looks she'd seen from her clanmembers. The same dull interest intertwined with dislike...it had been so subtle, and so normal that she hadn't even noticed it at first. But now it was clearer than ever. The few cheetahs that had seen Daimu couldn't see past the fact that he was a lion. A cub. An accident. He wasn't meant to be in their valley--at least in their eyes.

Were they really as bad as a pack of hyenas? Kashee didn't want to answer that question. She was afraid it might come too close to the truth...a truth she didn't want to know.

Nobody wants me here... And I don't know what I've done wrong... Why everyone hates me? I... I have bad dreams, too... they are worse. I never had those, until I got here... They... The cub cried out to her, just begging for her to say something...anything. He needed relief from his nightmares. He needed a way out from his pain. A few words of reassurance or encouragement to keep him going.

Kashee didn't know what she could say.Her teardrop markings on her face seemed more distinct than ever as she struggled to not cry out of frustration. She just couldn't put the emotions she felt into words--it never worked. The cheetah always came off as insincere. Half-hearted. Fake.

With a sad, heartbroken smile, Kashee did the only thing she knew--to just be there for Daimu. reached over to the cub, beckoning him to come closer. She wrapped her paw around him in a hug, and pulled him close. Actions spoke louder than words...and sometimes, you only needed to know that there would always be a person there for you..even if she was just an adolescent cheetah.

"Sometimes you just have to find hope." She whispered, a slight desert wind rising with her words. Hope was always so elusive...never there when you needed it. If the cub was going to survive, he was going to have to find a reason worth living. And that was all the cheetah could do...

There were wounds, bleeding wounds behind the green eyes. The little, defenceless cub, a creature born to play, discover and grow has lost its way in the circle of life. Hope, the only sign he could use to find the way has faded. It was obvious, cub needed a lot of time to overcome difficulties, which lay on his way. He needed aid, support and peace to fight. A reason either to forget about everything what's happened, or to accept it and live on.

However, all of a sudden, Kashee's done something the young one didn't even dare to expect. Her paws has cut him off from the sadness that laid in his past, soothing his heart and extinguishing the pain Daimu used to feel. Suddenly, it was all gone. The darkness has faded, driven off by a restful whiff of wind, as if it was brought here by her.

At first confused Daimu's just glanced at her with amazement in his gaze. As soon as he realised what Kashee's done, he smiled thankfully, bringing his ears back into shape. He's got up and put his paws around the cheetah's neck, nuzzling her trustfully. Daimu tried to whisper, but his throat was squeezed by emotions, taking over his little heart, driving the cold and darkness off. Even her scent was soothing somehow. "You're so soft and fuzzy!" He giggled, trying to bury his head within the fur on her chest.

Sometimes hope is closer, than we deem it to be. Daimu's found peace in Kashee's warmth. Something no word could bring. However, when he heart a familiar growl, he stopped, trying to locate the leopardess, which's undoubtedly let them know about her presence. "Hello, miss Sioux." He greeted the approaching Shaman politely, taking two steps away from Kashee. The smile didn't leave his face even for a moment.

  • Being an evening feline, mornings weren't favored by her majesty. However, as with most things, Nasari wouldn't rebel, especially against the inevitable and uncontrollable situations. Thus, seeing as this was a disagreement with the sun itself rising, she'd be fighting an ever-losing battle.

It wasn't worth it, particularly since it was her own fault for preferring to stay up late. Reluctantly, the cheopardess slowly lifted her petite and speckled form to full height, yawning then shaking away the remaining drowsiness as best as possible. Maybe later there'd be time for a quick nap.

That is if the nothing new happened. The regularly scheduled duties and responsibilities didn't usually call for immediate attention, and, following the recent rescue of the two minors, things were beginning to return to their usual lazy pace.

Or trying to anyways. The atmosphere felt different, tenser. Something was going unsaid, but no one wanted to be the first to reveal it. Sadly, by the end of it all, holding back words was more likely going to do more damage to their lifestyle.

But she wasn't going to be the first either. Nasari had no problems with anyone, unless they tried to start something with her. Even then, she handled things in a mature, dignified way, temper rarely raising above it's usual tempo in any case. So, if there was an issue that needed to be addressed, that individual needed to approach her, or Dorado. Not the other way around.

Since her only living kin was up and around this hour running errands, Nasari thought it would be a nice little treat to see if her grandmother needed any help or would just like the company. They both were quiet, but it suited their needs fine. Just being together was enough for them at times.

Tiptoeing through and away from the sleeping clan members, she walked toward the den's opening. Sioux's scent caught hit her nose right away, thankfully keeping her from almost colliding head-on with the arriving leopard.
"Oh my," she exclaimed, then whispered apologetically, "Sorry, Memaw. I didn't see you coming." Sioux had a knack for creeping and walking stealthy, even when not trying to be sneaky. It was one of the traits that was passed on to Nasari herself, but it was not as appreciated when viewed from the opposite side of the scare.
