i just can't wait to be king general information- NAME: Babajide
NICKNAME: None to most, "Baba" to grandchildren GENDER: Male SPECIES: Lion RANKING: None AGE: Elder
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Take one look at this old, grizzled male and you will clearly see that once, he was magnificent. Aged skin sags over well toned muscles, showing off a physique that is large and impressive, although was once more so. His pelt is a dusted gold, once more vibrant and bright in his youth but now becoming pale. All along his hide are many small scars, showing off his past battles won and lost, although none are so prominent that they stand out. A large and impressive mane rests around his neck and throat, a graying brown that like his coat was once more vibrant. Framing his face his mane has whitened, now matching his undertones in color. The wrinkles on his face tell a story of a life long lived. Red-orange eyes reflect the wisdom, history, and bitterness he has gained.

in the circle, the circle of life personal information- PERSONALITY: There are many layers to Babajide, each one thick and complicated like the fur of his mane. His outermost layer is what one would typically think an old rogue male to be. Upon first impression he is a hard and unforgiving creature, only holding enough care for himself in the world and nobody else. He can't say there is anything wrong with this. While in his inner most conscience he may care for others, he tires his best not to let his feelings get in the way of his own existence. This isn't to say he wouldn't help somebody in desperate need of help, like a pregnant female in need of food or a drowning cub. Not because he cares for strangers such as these, but because he knows that it is the right thing to do.
Get to know him a bit more and for the most part, Babajide is serious and quiet. Even in his younger years he was known for his calm exterior and blank expressions. At his age Babajide lives only to survive, and in so doing he puts most of his energy into finishing tasks and reaching goals. Still, he is generally kind hearted, understanding the benefits in thinking about the whole picture instead of only about himself. Even so, he does see himself as very important and can be selfish at times.
Know him more and he is creative, resourceful, and adaptable to many situations. He is wise and good at a range of different things, his age benefiting him in the fact that he has had a long time to become so skilled. If he has known you long enough for you to gain his trust (which is not an easy task) he can be quite assertive and outspoken, and will naturally take on a leading position if it is needed. Yet when it comes to affection, Babajide can be aloof and reserved. He doesn't feel the need to always express his affections, although he does have them. Don't be fooled by his stoic nature, Babajide does love like the rest of us. He just doesn't always know quite how to show it, unless you know him so well that you can see his little quirks that will let you know he cares.
RELATIVES: Babajide has many sons and daughters, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren. Although where they are now, he doesn't know. On forum: - Kitara, Granddaughter - Kurkua, Grand-Nephew - Nuata, Niece - Ahati, Niece
HISTORY: Babajide is an old lion, and his history is long and rich like any old lion's would be. And like "any old lion" he has had a very typical life, although of course it has his own personal signature on it as anybody's history does. Babajide was born to a litter of four males in a good sized pride, his father the king of his lands like any breeding male would be, and his mother part of his harem. As the last born in the litter of four, Babajide was not chosen as the heir to his father's land. He and his second youngest brother, Evero, were to be sent off to a neighboring pride to bring new blood to their females, while his older two brothers would claim his birth land.
He was in his adolescents when he left his home pride and integrated into his new pride with Evero. The king of that land was aging, and his son Kron was thirsty for the throne. Kron took the two brothers under his wing, gaining their alliance and usurping his old father. Together, the three males ruled. Kron was the true king, but Babajide and Evero held their places just under him, and their lives were just as rich and royal as Kron's. Babajide took many mates and had many cubs, just as his brother and Kron did.
A time came when Kron, a good amount older than Babajide and Evero, passed away. At that point the brothers became twin rulers, and protected their pride as if it were their own. They had grown a family there, loving the females an cubs of the land. For years, they lazed about with the pride and lived in prosper as their families grew large and new generations came into existence. Sometimes other males would challenge them, but the fit brothers always came out on top, keeping their families safe and their borders secure.
That is, until one day when they were very old. The brothers were still strong, but less so, and rogue males could sense this. A band of three young males led by an adult attacked them as they walked the borders of their territory. Babajide and Evero fought well, but in the end were defeated. Evero, wounded at the leg, was not fast enough to get away and was killed by the four males. Babajide's only choice was to run, and he did. Later when he was healed, he came back around to his lands. But by that time the new males had taken over and chased out his sons, and he wouldn't have stood a chance against them alone.
So, he moved on. While it was the most painful thing he had ever done besides lose his brother, it was the only thing he could do.

The tall grass shifted in the wind, masking the pale golden male's movements as he walked though the land. He would have been completely camouflaged if not for his large, dark mane, which alerted all prey within the area of his presence. It was a fact he was well aware of, and so instead of stalking about and slinking close to the ground, he marched on with a slight swing in his step and his tail high above his head. The dark tuft at the end of his tail was a beacon to the prey, giving away his position willingly and showing off that he was not there to hunt. The herds of ungulates watched his tail sway in the wind along with the grasses, and in turn Babajide watched the herbivores with curious interest.
They knew he was there, but they seemed entranced by his tail. He moved it to the left, and their faces followed. He moved it to the right, and they followed again. With each step his body shook as his paws hit the ground, his frame heavy and relaxed. Babajide emerged from the tall grass and sauntered towards the prey animals with amusement. Although they were already aware of his presence, they startled slightly as he emerged from the grass, a few of them jumping away from him in fear while others went about eating foliage.
Babajide slowed his already sluggish pace, taking a few last steps, and then he stopped. The herbivores watched him warily as he took a spot in the shorter grasses and began to bathe in the sun. He wondered inwardly if they might forget that he was there, but as he thought it he could feel their hooves on the soft ground as they moved farther away from him. His chest moved up and down as he took in heavy breaths, his eyes slowly closed and opened as the sun relaxed his body. If he couldn't eat, he may as well sleep.
