A Name Lost to Time

from the looks of things I've been gone for over year now basically. seems like it's been ages anyways. I feel really bad for being away for so long, but I've really needed to put role playing aside to get my classes done and focus on other things in my life. so here's a run down of some big changes that have been going on with me while I've been away: lost a few of my oldest and dearest cats, did an internship, got engaged, completed 2 years of college, got married, and am currently in the processing of moving to an apartment. also I may finally have a job depending on how things go the next few days. so lots of major life events and adult responsibilities have struck in the past year. but now that I've gotten things pretty much settled down I'm ready to return to my moderator responsibilities here as well as join back in the rp. I probably won't be on everyday like I used to be, but I'll try to be online once a week at a minimum. and clearly it's been a long while since I've read and posted in threads or cooked up plots with everyone, so if someone could fill me in on the goings on, that'd be great! ^_^ also, I did notice there's been some staffing changes while I've been away. I'm not as familiar with some of the new team members, but remember if you need help with anything I'll do my best to help out. I've also been a mod on here a long time and might can help out with some advice when you need it too ;) there's probably also plenty of members I haven't met or rped with on here too, and I look forward to seeing you in the threads. as well as posting with some old friends too!

Well, I do not believe we have ever chatted with each other before, but please, let me welcome you back here nonetheless, Kadiz. It is good to see you are back, especially after such a long absence. You surely have been busy, so, let me congratulate you on everything you have managed to achieve - it is good to see you are doing well, despite the seriousness of the events you have faced. I hope it stays that way - best wishes to you, Kadiz! Frankly, something was going on throughout the last year, but, to be honest, it isn't that much to catch up to. I am not very familiar with your story, and when exactly you decided to focus on the more important matters, so I am not exactly sure whether you know certain characters or not. Either way, I shall try and explain everything as simply and as briefly, as I possibly can. So, off we go! To begin with, you probably remember the king of the Pridelands, Makavu and his mate, Nyarai, who had given birth to a single cub, a little female named Alyeska. However, as she began growing up, the tension between the Outlanders and the Pridelanders was slowly becoming too much for Alyeska to bear. Eventually, after not receiving enough care or time from neither of her parents, she decided to disappear - that's when the pride began to literally fall apart. Nyarai was shattered by the thought, and thus left behind, when Makavu decided to leave and search for their daughter. It turned out being a fruitless effort, as there was literally not a single trace of Alyeska. Makavu returned to Nyarai, but changed beyond recognition - he forced Ny away, and thus a new chapter in the history of the Pridelands had begun. Meanwhile, some things had been going on in the Nekura as well, but not that important. The pride, led by Dorado and his mate, Nasari, if I remember correctly, had chosen their Majordomo, a solitary, scarred leopard named Nikolai. He prevented the shadows of his past killing Makavu in their baldest assault, as his brother was leading a pack of rogues to try and take the king down. However, he had done so against the will of the royal couple - as always, he had been a mysterious leopard, and by keeping everything to himself he had endangered the safety and remoteness of Nekura, and thus he decided to leave the pride, calling himself an exile. Soon after that, Dorado decided to try and find his friend, wherever he might have gone. Rather than the leopard though, he found exhausted Nyarai, and now they are both returning to the Nekura, accompanied by Ny's friend, an owl named Umbia. However, their return will not be an easy one. The valley itself is literally empty. Not a single cheetah, lion or leopard remained, even Nasari, Dorado's mate. But that's a mystery yet to solve. Between you and me - that's simply another step of a plan me and Skips have come up with. A plague, which decimated the numbers of cats throughout the area. That's some form of explaining the member's decreasing activity plotwise. There is not much going on right now. The little threads, such as the story of Tawi I shall leave for you to catch up on. :) So, that's about it. Should you have any questions, feel free to shoot away - I am available most of the time, and I am certain Skips and everyone else are willing to help you as well. Well then, it it's time to end this lengthy message - it's good to have you back with us, Kadiz! Oh, and I hope you don't mind me making errors and typos here and there - I am from Poland and I am still working on my language. I hope everything is understandable enough though! |

oh you're fine with any errors or typos, I didn't notice any but all of us make them from time to time, even when we've known English all our lives lol. thanks for filling me in, by the way. last I was hear there was some plotting for Alyeska to run away and join the Tawi but she hadn't left just yet. and I think the plot with the Nekura's majordomo had been set into motion maybe, but hadn't played out that far. the Nekura plot is definitely interesting, though leaves me a lil puzzled at where to start back with my Nekurans (Kadiz, Makali, and Jewel). granted I had planned for Kadiz to leave the clan eventually and end up in the mountains, but I'd rather not mess up any plans there with what happened to them. |

Okay then, that definitely gave me a better picture, if that's the right phrase. Either way - thank you a lot, Kadiz! Now we can start coming up with things. And, actually, it is not that difficult to construct some nice threads out of this, even concerning your own characters. When Dorado, Nyarai and Umbia finally cross the borders of the valley and find the place deserted, perhaps they would start sniffing about to find out what has happened. The king will much probably go frantic with worries, and what if they all stumble upon your character, or characters somewhere? They could explain what was going on during Dorado's absence, and why there was no one in the Nekura to meet him. And then, as a pride of so few cats, they could start setting about attempting to survive. The only thing which would remain for us to plan would be the progress of the disease, but that's not such a big deal. So, what do you think? :) |
